Patient Experience Summary

Feedback reveals a stark contrast in patient experiences at this practice. Clinical staff, including doctors and nurses, consistently receive praise for their professionalism, attentiveness, and medical expertise. However, this positive clinical care is substantially undermined by widespread difficulties with appointment access, reception experience, and communication.

Patients report significant barriers to booking appointments, with many describing the process as nearly impossible—whether calling at opening times, attempting online booking, or visiting in person. Long telephone waiting times, unavailable appointment slots, and inconsistent information from reception staff feature prominently across reviews. Beyond appointment challenges, reception experience emerges as a critical concern, with multiple accounts of discourteous, dismissive, and unhelpful interactions.

Patients describe feeling disrespected and unsupported during vulnerable moments. A smaller number of reviews acknowledge positive reception experiences and express satisfaction with the overall service, suggesting variability in staff conduct and patient interactions. The practice environment and responsiveness to patient concerns also require attention, with communication breakdowns between administrative and clinical teams creating frustration. While clinical excellence is evident, the administrative and reception systems require substantial improvement to deliver a consistently supportive care experience.

Frustrating experience with unhelpful medical receptionist

I attempted to schedule an appointment for the upcoming weeks and inquired about available time slots. The staff informed me that I must call at 8:30 am on the same day to secure an appointment, which is completely impractical for my situation. I work night shifts and am typically asleep by 6:30 am, making their scheduling process impossible for me. When I requested to speak with the surgery manager, the receptionist, Anna, rudely dismissed my request, stating that the manager does not take phone calls. The entire interaction felt like the staff wields absolute power, threatening to disconnect or remove patients who ask too many questions or challenge their procedures.

Frustrating experience with mixed medical staff performance

Dr. Ally seems discriminatory, and the reception staff are unhelpful, whereas Dr. Newile stands out as the clinic's best physician. Attempting to schedule an appointment by phone results in a frustrating 49-minute wait, only to find all slots have vanished. When visiting in person, they interrogate me about why I haven't booked with a GP. After explaining my week-long struggles, they simply provide a phone number for filing an official complaint. Surprisingly, even veterinary clinics demonstrate more compassion and assistance.

Terrible doctor lacks basic communication and listening skills

I've avoided visiting this medical practice for two years, only coming when absolutely essential, due to extremely poor communication from Dr. Doctor Dabar. He consistently fails to genuinely listen to patients, instead making assumptions without seeking understanding. Rather than engaging in meaningful dialogue, he seems to pre-judge patients' concerns and neglects to review prior medical records related to ongoing issues. During consultations, he talks excessively and interrupts patients, becoming agitated if asked to slow down and allow explanation of symptoms. When I attempted to clarify my concerns, he abruptly terminated the phone call. Upon redialing, I was met with an equally discourteous receptionist, further highlighting the substandard service. While I recognize that some competent physicians work at this practice, patients are routinely assigned the least effective general practitioners. The fundamental doctor-patient relationship has completely deteriorated. Although I understand healthcare professionals face significant pressures, such dismissive treatment only exacerbates existing challenges. Restoring professional standards and rebuilding patient trust could substantially improve the overall quality of care and patient experience.

Worst medical practice ever avoid at all costs

Persistent subpar care throughout an extended period. I've been with this medical practice virtually my entire life, and their service is abysmal from start to finish. It genuinely seems like they have zero interest in patient care, actively discouraging communication, visits, or any form of engagement. I've repeatedly postponed medical consultations, fully aware of the immense hassle involved... in fact, seeking treatment at the emergency room would likely be far less stressful than dealing with these practitioners. For anyone new to the neighborhood searching for a general practitioner, I strongly advise steering clear of this establishment without hesitation.

Nightmare booking system destroys patient experience

The GP's booking process is an absolute nightmare that I've ever encountered. Securing an appointment requires waking up at the crack of dawn, frantically redialing the phone for what feels like an eternity, desperately hoping to be placed in a seemingly endless waiting queue instead of just hearing that the receptionists are overwhelmed and being disconnected. If you don't manage to enter the queue by around 9am, your chances of getting an appointment are slimmer than winning the lottery. I can't help but feel that this entire ordeal could be easily resolved by simply allowing patients to book appointments for the next few days in advance. As a result, I've endured numerous illnesses due to their incredibly frustrating appointment system and the herculean task of trying to schedule a consultation.

Terrible service overshadows great doctors at clinic

I've been with this medical practice for more than a quarter-century, and its quality continues to deteriorate. COVID has become their convenient justification for providing an absolutely abysmal patient experience. The physicians themselves are excellent, but they are completely undermined by a poorly orchestrated administrative system that appears more focused on bureaucratic processes than actual patient care. Their appointment scheduling is utterly nonsensical, and the reception staff are consistently discourteous and obstructive. It seems everyone encounters identical issues with this clinic, and there's been zero progress—patients routinely waste thirty minutes just attempting to secure a basic appointment.

Why even bother with a general practitioner who simply redirects you to emergency services or instructs you to seek out other medical resources on your own? The fundamental purpose of primary care should be to serve as the initial healthcare touchpoint for patients.

Exceptional care from jill and dr neville

I reached out to the medical practice today and was connected with Jill at the front desk. She was extremely courteous and helpful both to myself and my mother. Having been a patient at this surgery for over two decades, I deeply appreciate the consistent support we've received. Dr. NEVILLE is truly exceptional. He demonstrates the utmost professionalism, and I have complete faith in his medical expertise. In my opinion, he far surpasses the standard five-star rating. My heartfelt gratitude goes out to the entire team.

Poor!

Worst medical practice ever with terrible reception

I've been with this surgery for over two decades, and the quality continues to deteriorate. COVID has become the convenient excuse for delivering an abysmal patient experience. The doctors are truly exceptional, but they are severely undermined by a centre management approach that prioritizes administration over genuine patient care. Their appointment system is utterly nonsensical, and the reception staff are predominantly discourteous and unhelpful (with the notable exceptions of Anna Marie and one other professional who understands customer interaction). Yesterday exemplified this perfectly. After waiting 25th in the queue, I was informed that all doctor appointments were exhausted, and I'd need to retry the following morning at 8:30. I did receive a nurse appointment, and Shakira's professionalism was impeccable. While physically present at the surgery, I attempted to book a GP appointment, explaining my severe pain and mobility limitations. The receptionist coldly insisted I must phone at 8:30 the next day, dismissing my concerns about the impractical system. I endured a night of agony, and upon calling back, found all appointments gone again. My online NHS account provides no relief, preventing advance bookings both digitally and telephonically. Will the practice manager acknowledge these consistent negative reviews? A competent manager would address patient feedback and ensure staff receive proper customer service training before interacting with vulnerable individuals. We are public servants - I've worked in similar roles myself. It's time to rectify this systematic failure. You're undermining the outstanding medical care provided by doctors like Dr Neville and Dr Rahman. Either resolve this chaotic system or replace management with someone capable of creating an accessible, functional appointment process. Absolutely ridiculous!

Worst medical practice ever shocking customer service

I'd rate this practice zero stars if I could. The staff are completely unhelpful and communicating with them is a nightmare. Despite being a patient for 5 years, I've only managed to see a doctor twice. Their service is absolutely abysmal. The reception staff are incredibly discourteous - they make you wait on hold for nearly an hour and then refuse to listen when you finally get through. This is hands down the worst general practice I have ever encountered in my entire life. Avoid at all costs! 👎👎👎👎😡😡😡

If I could, I'd rate them zero stars. The service is utterly abysmal, with discourteous employees and completely inaccessible phone support. Today, I dialed precisely at 8:30 am, only to be greeted by an automated message stating all daily appointments were already fully booked!! Seriously?!.. How can 30 appointments vanish in less than a minute? It's outrageous! One has to wonder what exactly we're contributing to with our NHS payments.
