Referral wasn't completed properly

Unable to process a referral accurately. Consulted with two clinicians, one of whom did not follow through on what they indicated they would do, and the other interrupted me while I was responding to their question about my child. Disappointing experience with the healthcare service provided. Have since switched to a different practice. Would not suggest to others.

Appointment changes and no phone access available

The service was disappointing. Obtaining a telephone appointment proved difficult. When requesting an appointment through the online system, there was a significant delay of two days before one was offered. Subsequently, the practice called to inform me that the clinician was unavailable due to an emergency visit, requiring me to reschedule for a later date. Attempts to arrange a telephone consultation instead were unsuccessful. Overall, I was not satisfied with the experience.

Edit July 2024: The service has continued to develop positively and I have increased my rating from 4 to 5 stars. Early 2023: We have been attending this practice for a considerable time. In recent months, there have been some challenges in securing appointments, the reasons for which are unclear to me (which is why I gave 4 stars rather than 5 at that time), however when I do submit a request, it receives prompt attention.

Booking queues and dismissive reception staff disappointing

I'm really disappointed with how this GP practice has deteriorated over the years. The clinical staff have been fine, but the practice itself has become increasingly difficult to access. Calling at opening time means you're already far down the queue, and the reception experience feels rushed and impersonal, with little acknowledgment of why you're seeking help. The physical condition of the building has also noticeably declined—equipment that used to work properly is now broken, which means staff have to manually direct patients to their appointments instead. It's a significant change from what it used to be. I've been a patient here for a decade and it's been part of my healthcare journey, but the overall experience has shifted considerably, and I'm now considering looking elsewhere for my care.

A deeply frustrating experience. It is extremely difficult to secure any appointments unless you ring first thing in the morning. I requested a routine appointment and was informed that no slots were available, with the next opening being several weeks away. I was told to try calling back the following day. This system feels impractical and the service quality is disappointing.

Website stuck in limbo for years now

I have decided to leave this practice after being a patient here for many years. The website continues to display incomplete features that have been marked as 'coming soon' for an extended period. The reception team often displays an unpleasant demeanor, and the overall standard of professionalism from clinical staff has declined in recent times. While I recognise that reception staff are likely under considerable pressure, I believe it is essential to maintain respectful interactions and provide genuine assistance to patients. People often reach out when they are in vulnerable situations, and I have found the manner in which some patients are spoken to to be quite concerning.

Kept redirecting me to A&E instead

Before registering with this practice, please be aware that once registered you may find it difficult to change your GP unless you relocate to a different area, so consider carefully before committing to this surgery. This facility appears to function primarily as a vaccination centre. For most other concerns, patients are directed to attend accident and emergency services. This may contribute to why hospital A&E departments experience such high demand. Whether you present with a headache or abdominal discomfort, the standard response seems to be a referral to A&E. It is unclear whether there are staffing limitations or other operational constraints affecting service provision. The practice appears to exist primarily to process NHS funding rather than provide comprehensive care. While no GP practice is perfect, this one seems particularly ineffective. Obtaining appointments is difficult despite claims of being overbooked, yet the waiting area frequently appears quiet and the reception team appears adequately staffed. It is worth questioning how NHS resources are being allocated. If possible, consider registering elsewhere and avoid making the same choice we did with this surgery.
