Patient feedback reveals a deeply polarised experience at this practice, with significant operational and service challenges offsetting pockets of positive care. Reception experience emerges as a critical issue, with recurring complaints about unresponsive phone lines, dysfunctional booking systems lacking digital options, and staff discourtesy that has deterred patients from seeking care. Appointment access presents substantial difficulties, with patients reporting extended waits, last-minute cancellations, and delays extending beyond an hour, creating barriers to timely medical attention. Communication channels are consistently described as problematic, encompassing failed follow-ups on test results, missed callback commitments, and administrative errors such as incorrect referral routing and appointment format confusion.
Where positive experiences are documented, they centre on individual clinical staff demonstrating compassion, professional expertise, and responsive care, alongside seamless booking for those who successfully navigate the system. However, these isolated strengths are substantially undermined by broader systemic failures. Medication management concerns feature prominently, including prescription refusals without clear justification and delayed test result communication. The practice's organisational issues appear to extend across multiple service areas, affecting patient confidence in continuity and reliability of care. The overall pattern suggests fundamental gaps between the quality of individual clinical interactions and the operational infrastructure supporting patient access and safety.

Disappointing medical service with zero communication

Worst medical practice ever terrible service nightmare
Phone lines open at 8am, yet by 8:20am the receptionist informed me that all in-person doctor consultations were fully booked. This frustrating situation has persisted for over a week, and I'm utterly baffled how this medical practice continues to operate with such abysmal service. I wouldn't even suggest this clinic to a wandering stray.

Worst medical practice ever avoid at all costs
If you're seeking compelling proof for why one should be able to opt out of NHS contributions, this practice serves as a prime example. From receptionists who dismiss appointment requests for unfamiliar conditions, to GPs who refuse consultations because they aren't your designated doctor, to your assigned GP being perpetually absent, to disregarding requests for an actually present physician, to making healthcare decisions without patient consultation, to maintaining inaccurate medical records, to neglecting Freedom of Information/Subject Access Request responses, to hosting some of the most discourteous front desk staff imaginable - even by the NHS's already low standards. Allerton Road truly excels at providing concrete, real-world illustrations of why the NHS should be dismantled, or at minimum, why patients shouldn't be compelled to fund healthcare they cannot access.

Excellent!
Fantastic medical care despite negative online reviews
I find it puzzling that some people have shared unfavorable feedback, as my encounters have been nothing short of positive. The administrative personnel and nursing team have consistently demonstrated warmth and efficiency, but what truly stands out is the exceptional quality of the medical professionals.

Dangerous medical incompetence at local gp surgery
This GP surgery is absolutely dreadful. During one phone consultation about my blood test results, the doctor mistakenly read out another patient's results without verifying my identity. She didn't check my name or date of birth, and I only realized the mistake when she referenced a test I hadn't taken and incorrectly stated my age. When I pointed out the error, she asked for my details, claimed she'd investigate with reception, and then abruptly ended the call without apologizing. On another occasion, an administrative staff member put me on hold while attempting to find a doctor to discuss test results. After a lengthy wait, she disconnected the call. I repeatedly tried to reconnect, and when she finally answered, she put me on hold again and hung up. This forced me to rush to the surgery to get information. The admin staff then told me a nurse would call that afternoon, but no call came. Only after I followed up did a nurse contact me the next day. Additionally, an admin employee emailed my referral to a non-existent email address, preventing the hospital from receiving it or scheduling an appointment. After numerous calls to both the surgery and hospital, I discovered the referral was sent to an email account that had been defunct for years. The standard of care is absolutely unacceptable, and I have zero trust in this practice. I'm immensely relieved that I've moved away and can now register with a different GP.

Horrible medical experience with zero communication
Hands down, this is the most abysmal medical practice I've encountered in two decades. Their communication is non-existent. Phone calls go perpetually unanswered, and the administrative staff is completely unresponsive. Patients are forced to jump through hoops just to get basic services like blood tests or specialist referrals. The entire operation is utterly catastrophic.

Terrible healthcare service that completely ignores patients
This medical facility is absolutely terrible in their patient care. Whenever you contact them with critical health concerns, they completely disregard the urgency and dismiss your needs. They consistently push off appointments, suggesting you wait weeks or simply schedule a follow-up call that never addresses your immediate medical problems.

Unprofessional medical care left me frustrated and ignored
I underwent blood tests, and not a single person reached out to inform me about the results. Upon calling months later, I was informed that they had never received the test results. It's peculiar that they didn't contact me to request a repeat of the tests. Six months have passed, and still no one has scheduled me for additional testing. I was scheduled for a head MRI six months ago, which also never materialized. When I inquired about the MRI during a call about another matter and expressed concern that I could have died from an undiagnosed condition, I was callously told, "Well, you're not dead, are you." In a comedy sketch, this might have been humorous, but in a real-life medical setting, it was anything but a professional response.

Terrible healthcare service that needs urgent improvement
Terrible primary care clinic. I've been a patient here for an extended period and have consistently encountered discourteous physicians who disregard patient medical history, unhelpful front desk personnel unwilling to address practical concerns, and instances of medical carelessness. I'm actively seeking to transfer to a different medical practice.

Exceptional healthcare and compassionate staff every time
The front desk team is exceptional, and the physicians, GPS, and nursing staff demonstrate remarkable professionalism and compassion. Having been a patient at this medical center for three years, I consistently experience outstanding personalized attention and care. The team has been particularly supportive during my experiences with my infant, always going above and beyond. My sincere appreciation to everyone!

Worst medical experience ever terrible service
I am utterly dismayed by the level of care provided. The service fell far short of addressing my medical requirements. They showed a total lack of consideration for my health concerns. My strongest recommendation is to steer clear of this establishment.

Terrible service that could risk your health
Absolutely terrible healthcare practice that schedules appointments two weeks out, leaving patients to potentially worsen or endure intense suffering in the meantime. Everyone in the community criticizes this clinic, and the staff's demeanor is extremely discourteous and unwelcoming.

Amazing healthcare team with top-notch service
After being a patient here for two and a half years, I'm genuinely disappointed to depart due to relocating outside London. The reception team is absolutely delightful and incredibly supportive, while the medical professionals are equally impressive. Scheduling appointments has always been seamless, and their digital eConsult platform functions exceptionally smoothly at this medical practice.

Nightmare experience at the worst medical facility ever
One of the absolute worst surgical facilities in the entire nation. The staff are beyond terrible - incredibly disrespectful, unmotivated, ignorant, and displaying a revolting demeanor. If I could, I would never set foot in this surgery center ever again.

Worst medical care ever experienced by a patient
Steer clear of this medical practice, unless you're eager to squander time and drain your emotional reserves. Their incompetence spans prescriptions, diagnoses, and any logistical transfer between staff members. Multiple times, they neglected to refill my critical asthma medication prescriptions without providing any rationale. I'd arrive at the pharmacy only to discover the request had been summarily rejected. Each instance triggered intense anxiety about managing asthma attacks in London's polluted environment. Twice, I was compelled to seek out-of-hours GP services for emergency inhaler supplies. Following one such incident, I secured an appointment with the responsible GP, who claimed she was on holiday during the refusal (a verifiable falsehood) and professed ignorance about which colleague rejected the prescription (another transparent lie). Occasionally, she justified refusals by citing that I requested more medication months (6) than permitted (2). Considering my decades of successful asthma self-management and the low overdose risk of preventative inhailers, this seemed utterly nonsensical. Why not simply provide a month's supply to ensure patient safety? The GP referenced unlocatable guidance about reducing drug abuse, while I discovered online protocols explicitly designed to facilitate medication access for "busy individuals" like myself - guidelines they blatantly disregarded. During another medication denial, I later discovered they withheld inhailers because I'd missed my annual checkup by mere weeks. The irony of denying an asthmatic life-saving medication to compel a health assessment was breathtaking. They also erroneously labeled me a "COPD" patient despite my never having smoked, creating subsequent travel insurance complications. Multiple external GPs questioned this diagnosis, with three independently expressing bewilderment. Additional errors included overlooking annual cholesterol assessments, providing incorrect sample drop-off locations, and botching initial height and weight measurements. Save yourself considerable frustration and avoid this practice at all costs.

Useless doctors wasting time and my health
Medical professionals here offer zero guidance, making a trip to the emergency room seem more productive than scheduling a consultation. The past trio of appointments have yielded absolutely no actionable recommendations or helpful insights.
