I submitted a complaint, which was met with minimal acknowledgment - receiving only a brief, dismissive response suggesting a telephone appointment next week. This isn't my inaugural critique of Alma, and I'm delighted to report it's significantly improved since my previous assessment. The newly introduced protocols and the exceptional medical staff, particularly Dr. Orde Hume, instill complete confidence in my care. While securing an in-person consultation might require some waiting, I wouldn't entrust my wellness to any other facility.

Terrible service and dangerous medical negligence
The front desk staff member exhibited an unprofessional and condescending attitude, completely failing to perform her duties with basic courtesy. Her demeanor was unhelpful and disrespectful, making our phone interaction thoroughly unpleasant. As a result, I've decided to transfer my mother's medical care to a different practice. My mother suffered from a critical lung infection that ultimately required emergency hospitalization. Prior to this, her initial doctor merely prescribed an inhaler, which proved inadequate. During her hospital admission, she received oxygen treatment and was administered a powerful broad-spectrum antibiotic for severe pneumonia - she was struggling to breathe. Consequently, I have absolutely no confidence or trust in this medical practice. It was a truly terrible experience for both my mother and myself!

The good: Shola, the mental health nurse, was exceptional, and the remainder of the medical personnel I interacted with were equally impressive. The bad: They show a complete lack of consideration by not informing patients about cancelled phone consultations. Additionally, their communication is frustratingly limited, with phone being the sole method of contact.

Great service despite initial e consult frustration
Looking through the reviews, I understand the common frustration with e-consult and the challenges of securing a GP appointment. Recently, I visited the urgent treatment centre at RSH on a Sunday with a skin infection. The staff were excellent, prescribing antibiotics and updating my NHS health record (accessible via the NHS app). Despite initial symptom improvement, some pain persisted. I contacted Alma Road surgery and was advised to complete the antibiotic course. When symptoms continued, I returned to the urgent treatment centre on another Sunday, receiving a further 7-day antibiotic course. They updated my notes recommending GP follow-up if the issue didn't improve. Although the skin rash healed, I experienced ongoing headaches. I submitted an e-consult and received a nurse's call within an hour. She suggested the symptoms were normal and recommended paracetamol, which left me feeling somewhat dismissed. The next day, I highlighted my medical records' recommendation for GP assessment. After a brief wait, the receptionist arranged a same-morning appointment with Dr Orde-Hume. She provided a reassuring consultation, essentially confirming the nurse's earlier advice while conducting a comprehensive health check. While I don't typically write reviews, I wanted to share this experience. I recognize GP practices are under immense pressure, and e-consult offers a helpful initial screening. Moving forward, I feel confident in their established procedures for addressing health concerns. My ultimate advice? Stay healthy! 😊👍🏻

Terrible gp surgery with zero compassion or care
If I could give zero stars, I would. Seriously, steer clear and DO NOT REGISTER HERE! I've been with this medical practice my entire life, now at 28, and for years I've battled to receive any assistance with my pain issues. They declined to X-ray my back, so I paid privately and discovered I had an actual spinal fracture and my hip was misaligned by 2 inches, leading to numerous ongoing health complications. Upon returning to this GP seeking help because I couldn't continue private treatment, they refused to even review my X-rays and offered absolutely no further support. Attempting to contact them is a nightmare; you'll spend endless time on hold, and it seems they never answer. Their e-consultation process is essentially non-functional. Ultimately, you're left completely abandoned. There's genuinely no purpose in being registered here - it's equivalent to not having a GP practice at all.

Terrible medical care that harmed my family
This medical center is absolutely unacceptable!!! The medical staff are completely incompetent! I spent eighteen months trying to get my blood pressure medication adjusted, repeatedly contacting them and emphasizing that the current treatment wasn't effective because my blood pressure remained elevated! My child was given 6 vaccines simultaneously! As a result, he has stopped communicating, now repeatedly strikes his head and stomach while inexplicably laughing! Dr. Ahmet encountered my daughter with a rash on her body and demanded I strip her down for examination! We were prohibited from entering the premises!!!
