Referral lost and my son left waiting

I brought my son to see the general practitioner regarding his throat issues two years back. The physician assured me he would initiate a referral to an ear, nose, and throat specialist. Since that appointment, we've received absolute radio silence - no communication, no follow-up, nothing. Arbury Road Surgery should be deeply ashamed of their negligence. They have completely let my child down, and I am seriously considering pursuing legal proceedings for their medical misconduct.

Mixed-up records and rude staff

I'm truly at a loss for where to begin. This is absolutely the worst general practitioner I've ever been registered with. Initially, they claimed my area wasn't covered (which was completely false), and then I received a call stating the real issue was that my information was mixed up with someone else's, causing my appointment letters to be sent to the wrong person. On another occasion, I couldn't secure a simple appointment for a UTI treatment for three entire days, with them repeatedly saying no doctors were available, despite calling first thing in the morning. The receptionists are incredibly unprofessional and discourteous. Each staff member provides conflicting information, directing you to call on specific days, only to have another colleague contradict them entirely. Even when you try to explain your situation, they respond rudely and threaten to hang up on you. They have consistently failed to assist me with any of my medical concerns. The nurses are tolerable, but if you manage to see a doctor, their advice is basically something you could find with a quick internet search. I'm actively seeking another GP as soon as possible. I don't typically write reviews like this, but this experience has been absolutely unacceptable.

Absolutely worthless medical service. The healthcare providers demonstrate a shocking lack of competence and compassion, seemingly more interested in searching web symptoms than providing meaningful care. Their standard recommendations are frustratingly generic, like suggesting hydration or cranberry juice for a urinary tract infection, without any substantive medical intervention. Every single health concern I've raised has been met with minimal effort and dismissive guidance to "return if symptoms escalate," ultimately forcing patients to seek proper medical attention elsewhere at additional clinics. Steer clear of this practice entirely!

During our recent visit for a blood draw, the nursing staff displayed complete incompetence. They seemed utterly unqualified to perform a simple blood sample collection. One nurse made three unsuccessful attempts to draw blood, wastefully discarding two samples in the process. The service was absolutely dreadful and unacceptably poor.

Rude staff and abrupt management calls

I truly wish there was an option for zero stars in the rating system. The receptionists display an unacceptable level of rudeness, and even more shockingly, a Management team representative abruptly terminated our call while I was attempting to address my concerns - which is completely unacceptable. This behavior is far beneath the standards expected in healthcare, and frankly, you should be deeply embarrassed. Furthermore, they are utterly malicious. They arbitrarily cancelled my most recent appointment without any notification, leaving me completely uninformed and stranded. When I sought clarification, they flatly refused to allow me to speak with a nurse. I am utterly speechless at the profound unprofessionalism demonstrated by the reception staff, who are, after all, the initial point of contact for patients.

Rude staff and no help for dental pain

This place doesn't even merit the single star rating! Pure negligence is what I'd describe it as! I was informed that physicians supposedly can't issue antibiotics for dental discomfort, despite being directed by my dental office to contact them! This was completely astonishing, especially since I have professional experience in dentistry and have personally witnessed numerous doctors providing pain relief medications to patients. After conducting thorough research, I've confirmed that doctors are indeed capable of assisting with dental pain and prescribing antibiotics. However, this particular doctor showed absolutely no interest in helping me obtain any prescription whatsoever. Moreover, the receptionist's attitude was incredibly unhelpful and downright discourteous!

Serious health concerns after 56 years

I'm deeply troubled by the lack of accountability towards patients and am currently contemplating filing a formal complaint regarding what I perceive as unethical conduct, including disregarding patient diagnoses, treatment strategies, and misrepresenting medical records. If you share similar concerns that warrant further investigation, I strongly recommend reaching out to the General Medical Council/Association. The trust in healthcare professionals is crucial, and after 56 years as a patient, I'm deeply saddened to say I'm now considering changing medical practices due to a complete loss of confidence. I'll be requesting an exit appointment and will await their response - stay tuned! As a follow-up, no exit review was conducted, and I'm now raising complaints about misrepresented information required for PIP assessments. They are minimizing my disabilities and redacting both my health records and those of a person I support. The level of neglect I'm highlighting is extremely serious, and I've been forced to relocate to a surgery that now incurs additional taxi expenses. I am actively pursuing multiple concerns about this practice. Remember: contact the GMC for issues with a specific doctor and NHS England for problems with the surgery itself.

Terrible service at local medical practice

Completely useless. Patients are clearly an afterthought. Even with explicit hospital guidance. I was instructed to follow up on my own prescription, which is completely unacceptable. The reception staff are dismissive and unhelpful. The issue remains unresolved. Steer clear of this place entirely. While they're apparently eager to take on new patients, they're incapable of managing their current workload. It's utterly ridiculous.
