Grateful Patient Praises NHS Staff After Surgery

Following my partner's significant surgical procedure, we wish to express our gratitude to the remarkable team at Arthington Medical Centre. Dr. Ranjani deserves special thanks for providing us with reassurance during a challenging time. We are also grateful to Unis and Stella, the registered nurses, for their diligent work in managing the dressings. Our appreciation extends to Debbie for conducting the blood tests and all of the reception staff who efficiently coordinated our appointments. While there may be concerns about the NHS system as a whole, it is clear that dedicated professionals make it exceptional.

Dangerous Misdiagnosis Leads to Life-Threatening Blood Clots

If there were options for negative ratings, I would choose them. In April 2020, after experiencing persistent pain in my leg for several days, I contacted the doctors. They advised me simply to take paracetamol. Unfortunately, as time passed, my discomfort worsened and I began coughing up blood; thus, I reached out again only to receive the same recommendation of paracetamol. Frustrated with this response, I opted to call 111 instead. After answering a series of questions during that call, they informed me that someone would get back to me shortly. True to their word, they returned my call within five minutes and asked if I could make it to the hospital myself. At this stage, my leg had become swollen and walking was painful; therefore an ambulance was dispatched. Upon arrival at the hospital and undergoing X-rays along with various tests, doctors discovered a blood clot in both my leg and lungs. Additionally, it turned out that I tested positive for COVID-19. My week-long stay involved receiving oxygen support due to inflammation surrounding my heart caused by the lung clot situation. Fast forward to November 26th of 2021: again seeking help from the surgery because of ongoing pain in my leg—after initially being told I'd have a phone consultation but insisting on an in-person visit—I met Dr. Pearline Punoose who claimed it was merely fatty tissue causing me discomfort. The agony had escalated so much that earlier that day I'd taken myself over to St James Hospital where once more they diagnosed a blood clot afflicting me again! During our appointment discussion about what truly troubled me regarding potential fatty tissue issues—noting clearly what seemed evident—she insisted otherwise and recommended taking paracetamol while using ibuprofen gel topically instead of further investigation into what appeared serious at best. As things stand now? I'm required daily injections indefinitely moving forward due primarily suggesting negligence or misunderstanding at play here as Dr Punoose’s actions felt severely misguided throughout this ordeal leading ultimately feeling unsafe under her care prompting reporting her conduct through GMC channels which sadly led nowhere despite thorough inquiry into grievances raised against her practices—which has since prompted changing surgeries altogether where thankfully I've found new practitioners genuinely willing yet competent enough actually listen attentively without dismissive attitudes toward patient concerns experienced prior!

Satisfied Patient: Nurses, Blood Draws, and Diabetes Care

I have no issues to report; it appears that I am attending more appointments and keeping a closer watch on my diabetes. I find myself interacting with nurses more frequently than with my doctor. Debbie is constantly requesting something from me, whether it's a blood sample or asking if I've brought in a urine specimen. In general, I feel satisfied with the care I'm receiving.
