Staff took time to listen and explain things properly

I have several ongoing health conditions that require regular medical support, so I frequently attend my GP practice for care. I have consistently found the doctors at this practice to be of a high standard. In particular, I have found two of the clinicians to be outstanding. They are both very thorough, take the time to listen carefully, and always treat me with kindness and respect. I never feel rushed during appointments, and they make sure everything is properly investigated and explained. Living with long-term health conditions can be difficult, but having healthcare professionals who genuinely care and take the time to understand makes a significant difference. I'm very grateful for the support and care they provide.

Helpful staff but appointment form responses unclear

Most of the team are very helpful and respond promptly to appointment requests. The clinical staff are pleasant and approachable. My only concern is regarding the appointment request process. When a form is submitted and there are no available slots on that particular day, that is the response provided. However, I feel the form submission is intended to be considered for a future appointment slot rather than necessarily expecting availability on the same day.

Staff put you at ease during blood tests

I had my bloods taken for the first time today at this practice and the nursing staff were both incredibly comforting and calm when I felt unwell during the appointment. I never felt rushed or like I was a nuisance - their reassurance and gentle manner made something that's usually really stressful for me so much easier. I'm grateful for how well they looked after both me and my partner since moving to the area.

I'm very grateful to the receptionist who assisted me on two separate occasions over the past couple of weeks regarding a family member's care. She went above and beyond to resolve matters that others had been unable to help with. When you're supporting a loved one, even minor hurdles can feel overwhelming, and her willingness to help made a real difference. More staff with her approach and attitude would make a tremendous impact on patients' experiences. It's remarkable how a bit of genuine support can truly brighten someone's day.

Submitted an online request and received a reference number confirming the submission went through; however, there was no response, acknowledgement, or follow-up of any kind. This was very disappointing. I have been a registered patient for a considerable length of time.

Phone queue took hours, unhelpful response

Earlier in the year I attended with severe breathing difficulties, swallowing problems and speech issues. I was experiencing continuous vomiting and had lost significant physical strength. Despite repeatedly explaining my difficulty with swallowing, I was given tablets. The following day I required hospital admission for a two-day stay. More recently, my partner has been experiencing severe bladder-related discomfort throughout the day. She spent considerable time calling the practice and pharmacy attempting to obtain medication for pain relief. After several hours of trying to reach someone, she finally got through. She was told there was nothing that could be offered to help. The staff member on the call came across as dismissive and unhelpful. My partner was very upset during the conversation, and the call was ended abruptly with minimal acknowledgement of her distress.

Long waits for urgent lung condition appointments

Extremely disappointing experience with the appointment system. As someone managing a chronic respiratory condition for several years, I attempted to book an urgent appointment today without success. I was offered a telephone triage slot with the earliest available follow-up appointment several weeks away. I declined this offer. I found the service to fall well short of what I would expect from a healthcare provider.

They said they would ring back but this did not happen. I visited the pharmacy to check whether the prescription had been submitted, but the pharmacy staff were unaware of it. Some of the reception team members came across as quite curt and seemed to pry into matters even when I indicated the issue was private.

Calls to the practice yielded conflicting information regarding appointment availability, with initial guidance suggesting same-day bookings only, though a subsequent call revealed that advance appointments were actually possible. The inconsistency and frustration experienced throughout this process has been significant enough to prompt consideration of registering elsewhere, as the overall experience has contributed to considerable stress and worry.

Rushed appointment left concerns completely unaddressed

I attended this practice for an out-of-hours appointment and felt that my health concerns were not properly addressed. I believed the clinical assessment was inaccurate, as I was subsequently seen elsewhere and found to have an infection that had not been identified during my visit here. The appointment was very brief and I did not feel my issue was thoroughly examined. The clinician's manner seemed dismissive and disengaged throughout. I also overheard a comment made to reception staff that did not align with what I observed about the appointment schedule at that time. Overall, I was disappointed with the quality of care provided.

Easy to book appointments when needed

I was a patient at this surgery for two decades and consistently had positive experiences. I was always able to access appointments with my preferred clinician, and found the entire team to be exceptionally helpful and welcoming. The standard of care was excellent throughout my time there, and I would gladly recommend this practice to others. I am no longer registered as a patient solely because I relocated to pursue a new chapter in my life. I am genuinely grateful to all the staff members for the outstanding service they provided during my years with them.
