Patient Experience Summary

Patient feedback reveals significant challenges with appointment access and phone communication, which dominate concerns across the file. Callers report persistent difficulty reaching the practice by telephone, with many describing repeatedly dialed calls, prolonged hold times, and disconnections. Once contact is made, appointment availability is frequently cited as fully booked, sometimes within minutes of opening. Reception experience presents a mixed picture: whilst some patients describe supportive and welcoming staff, others report discourtesy, dismissiveness, and unprofessional conduct during booking attempts.

In contrast, clinical care receives consistent positive recognition. Patients frequently commend the medical professionals, nursing staff, and physiotherapists for their professionalism, compassion, and attentiveness. Several reviewers specifically note that despite frustrations with access, the quality of care once received is exceptional and responsive. A few patients acknowledge the demanding nature of reception work and express understanding of the pressures staff face.

The practice appears to operate as a high-demand service with capacity constraints that create bottlenecks in the booking system. Whilst the clinical team earns genuine appreciation, the gap between difficulty accessing appointments and the quality of care delivered once secured remains a central tension in patient experience. Some reviewers suggest the booking system requires fundamental redesign to better manage patient flow and communication.

Struggling to get a gp appointment frustrates patient

I recognize that general practitioner offices are hectic and scheduling can be challenging. However, I'm questioning whether they're accepting patients outside their designated area. I relocated to Woughton parish in 2005 and initially found the staff approachable and supportive. Yet, in recent times, securing an appointment has become incredibly difficult. I've repeatedly called from 8:00 AM until 8:30 AM, only to be informed that all slots are already occupied. I've even tried waiting outside before opening hours, only to be told a doctor might contact me if I'm present at 8:00 AM. I'm left wondering why obtaining a simple appointment has become such an insurmountable task.

Consistent quality care from a trusted medical team

Throughout my nearly quarter-century relationship with this medical practice, I can genuinely affirm that I've consistently received top-notch care from every general practitioner. The reception team is truly commendable, particularly when patients approach them with empathy and recognition of the demanding nature of their responsibilities.

Horrible appointment system wastes hours of my life

The appointment scheduling process is utterly absurd and embarrassingly antiquated. Starting at 8am, you're forced into a frustrating cycle of repeatedly dialing, with the system constantly showing 'busy' signals and preventing smooth queue entry. Even after finally getting into the queue, you'll waste 10-30 excruciating minutes only to be told that all appointments are already booked. During my recent attempt, the receptionist initially acknowledged my request, then suspiciously claimed she couldn't hear me before abruptly ending the call (which I verified was not due to any phone or service issues on my end). This situation is completely unacceptable and demands immediate rectification. If possible, I'd rate this experience zero, as it's clearly a widespread problem affecting everyone, and the fact that this continues daily is nothing short of humiliating.

Exceptional care from a truly compassionate surgery team

Since departing from this medical practice for university, I've come to realize how exceptional, supportive, and responsive they are compared to other clinics, and how poorly I recognized their genuine concern. The staff truly listened and considered my concerns and emotions [particularly Dr. Waheed, who has now retired]. Beyond that, the overall practice and patient care is remarkably compassionate and considerate. I sincerely hope they maintain this authentic, caring approach to patient treatment, as such empathetic healthcare services are increasingly rare nowadays.

Frustrating appointments with hit and miss doctors

Booking appointments at this practice is limited to nurses via pre-booking, while doctor consultations require same-day scheduling, which are predominantly telephone-based - an incredibly frustrating experience. The constant background typing during consultations becomes incredibly monotonous, with some physicians being more guilty than others. Securing an appointment involves calling precisely at 8am, repeatedly battling engaged signals, and potentially waiting 5-30 minutes in a queue. Recent receptionists have been somewhat aggressive, despite my usual sympathy for their challenging role. You'll likely receive a rushed phone consultation where a doctor determines whether you merit an in-person examination. The medical staff quality varies significantly. They occasionally employ locum doctors, and while Dr Zaman was reportedly exceptional, his current whereabouts are unknown. I personally recommend Dr Haye and Dr Babatunde, but would caution against Dr. Chaudhry, particularly for patients with chronic conditions. The nursing staff, however, are consistently professional - helpful, attentive, and never hurried. Their online system offers comprehensive features: accessible test results, prescription requests, and the ability to view clinic letters and referrals. The adjacent pharmacy provides convenient prescription collection, though they have their own operational challenges. Ultimately, this GP surgery is hit-or-miss. The quality depends entirely on individual practitioners and your specific healthcare requirements. Remember, you're not permanently committed - changing doctors or practices remains an option if unsatisfied.

Worst customer service ever avoid at all costs

It's utterly impossible to connect with their customer service by phone, regardless of how early you attempt to call. All you encounter is a constant busy signal, or worse, they abruptly terminate your call. On the rare occasion they actually answer, they have the audacity to claim no appointments are available. The irony is palpable: how can they assert a lack of appointments when their communication system makes booking one practically unattainable?

Worst medical experience ever terrible customer service

The phone system is completely dysfunctional. The receptionists are discourteous and dismissive, forcing patients to desperately plead for appointments. The doctor appears indifferent and virtually unreachable. Unqualified receptionists arbitrarily decide who gets seen, acting as unauthorized gatekeepers. I can't help but wonder how they would feel if treated with the same disrespect they show patients. I've personally observed them being hostile to multiple people. It seems they show more compassion to animals than to patients. I question whether the staff are even human. To make matters worse, I had to dial 90 times in the morning, and by the time I finally got through, all appointments were already gone.

Frustrating healthcare system needs serious improvement

The appointment booking process is a complete nightmare. Their phone system is utterly dysfunctional, forcing patients to repeatedly dial in hopes of someone answering, with no reliable queuing or callback mechanism. Even after persistent attempts, you're likely to find all appointment slots are already filled, and they offer zero flexibility or understanding about medical urgency - just a dismissive "try again tomorrow" response. It's clear the practice management and doctors need a serious overhaul in their approach to patient communication and accessibility. They could learn a lot from other medical practices that have more effective and patient-friendly scheduling systems.

The most abysmal customer service imaginable... Whenever you attempt to contact them by phone, it's impossible. At the reception, the staff are incredibly unwelcoming and make you feel utterly unwanted. In critical situations, their response is consistently dismissive, always telling you to "come back tomorrow." And the next day? Exactly the same unhelpful response, repeated endlessly.

Worst medical centre ever avoid at all costs

The personnel here display a shocking lack of professionalism and competence, demonstrating zero understanding of basic customer service protocols. Scheduling an appointment is practically a futile endeavor, and their communication lines are perpetually congested. This medical facility is so incompetent that I firmly believe the General Medical Council should intervene and shut it down immediately. In fact, veterinary clinics show more compassion and care for animals than this place does for human patients. My recommendation is unequivocal: stay far away from this center under any circumstances. If a zero-star rating were possible, I would absolutely select it without hesitation.

Dangerous receptionists blocking essential medical care now

Terrible service. The receptionist acts as an unqualified medical gatekeeper, arbitrarily deciding who deserves a doctor's consultation before abruptly ending calls. Her lack of medical expertise is alarming, and I genuinely fear she could potentially endanger someone's health. This medical practice urgently needs to address their staff's unprofessional behavior. Disappointingly, nothing has improved - even three years after my initial complaint, the same issues persist. This morning, I attempted to schedule an appointment, dialing 489 times starting at 8am. When I finally connected, I was flatly informed that no appointments were available.

Frustrated parent's desperate cry for medical help

After making countless calls from 7:50 to 8:50 for two consecutive days, with my unwell 11-year-old child running a high fever, I mustered the courage to drive to the GP. Upon arriving, I found the medical centre nearly vacant, with just one person waiting. Filled with hope of securing an appointment, I approached the reception. To my utter dismay, the receptionist coldly stated, "Sorry, we're fully booked. Please go to the walking centre with your child!" Incredulous, I protested, "But the centre is empty, with only one person to be seen!" It's absolutely disgraceful! Why maintain a medical practice if patients can't even see their GP? I'm certain there are many more desperate individuals like myself facing similar frustrating circumstances.

Worst customer service ever experienced in my life

I'm appalled that a single star rating is even an option—this experience deserves less than zero. Every single morning, I attempt to contact them starting at 8am, and without fail, I'm met with complete silence. I consistently reach queue position two, only to have the call abruptly disconnect, forcing me to restart the entire frustrating process. This nightmare has been ongoing for months, and the situation is progressively deteriorating. Time and again, I'm unable to reach a single representative, despite having a referral from a walk-in centre doctor. Their service is so monumentally incompetent that I genuinely believe if I were on my deathbed, they still wouldn't bother to respond.
