Patient Experience Summary

Patient feedback reveals a deeply polarised experience at this practice, with stark contrasts in care quality across different service areas. Reception staff receive consistent praise for courtesy, efficiency, and helpfulness, while nursing care is frequently described as skilled and compassionate. However, appointment access remains a significant barrier, with patients reporting waits of three to six weeks for consultations and difficulty securing in-person visits. Communication responsiveness is inconsistent, with some patients experiencing delayed responses to digital requests and challenges navigating the online booking system.

Medical consultations present the most concerning pattern, with multiple accounts of dismissive physician behaviour, lack of empathy during patient interactions, and insufficient clinical attention to patient concerns. Several patients describe feeling unheard or judged rather than supported during appointments. The practice's shift towards digital-first communication has created additional friction, with patients expressing frustration about lengthy online symptom submission processes and difficulty reaching staff by phone. While some long-term patients report positive continuity of care and professional expertise, others describe a noticeable decline in service standards and accessibility over recent years.

Online-Only Referral Nightmare

Booking an in-person consultation is virtually impossible. They insist on handling everything through digital channels. Capturing images of challenging body areas with a low-resolution camera is extremely frustrating. I was informed I'd been referred to a hospital dermatologist, and after nearly three months, I'm now receiving a message suggesting I see a GP based on some poor quality photos. My friends experiencing similar situations were promptly referred to hospital and received immediate appointments. In the past, when I suffered a significant meniscus injury, the Ashville surgery GP was reluctant to authorize a scan. When the scan finally occurred and I discussed the issue with a hospital surgeon, he confirmed it was a severe tear. This GP surgery is absolutely terrible, and I'll be switching providers as soon as possible. Their service is sluggish, unreliable, and communication is incredibly difficult. As a tech-savvy young person, I'm deeply concerned about how elderly patients must be experiencing these challenges.

Caring Doctors Who Really Listen

The entire team, from medical professionals to support staff, is exceptional in every way. They provide personalized care tailored to each patient's specific needs. Despite the digital age of healthcare, they maintain a perfect balance of technological efficiency and genuine human compassion when it matters most. I cannot speak highly enough of their service and would absolutely endorse them to anyone seeking quality medical care!

Frustrating online form delays doctor communication

It was satisfactory until they implemented this new system where direct doctor communication is replaced by a lengthy online symptom submission. Then they contact you the following day, which creates additional complications because you must remain constantly available by phone. Missing a call immediately triggers a complex callback process where administrative staff must re-engage the doctor, making communication frustratingly inefficient. The entire interaction can stretch to one or two days before actually speaking with a medical professional. Subsequently, if an in-person appointment is required, the total time can extend beyond three days! The process feels completely dysfunctional, almost like being deliberately prevented from accessing medical care. The previous approach without excessive technological intervention was far more straightforward. Moreover, the multiple platforms for appointment requests and medication orders, each requiring separate login credentials, adds unnecessary complexity. The whole experience is mentally exhausting. There's such a thing as too much technology.

Caring Nurses, Distant Doctors Frustrated Me

The nursing staff demonstrated exceptional compassion and attentiveness, but my frustrations lie with the physicians. Typically, they seem dismissive of patient concerns, preferring impersonal text messages over meaningful communication, and rarely offering face-to-face consultations. As a result, I've switched medical providers and am thoroughly satisfied with my new healthcare team!

Hesitant about Fulham medical practices

Having recently relocated to the neighborhood, I'm searching for a medical practice in Fulham, and so far, the options haven't inspired much trust in me. Considering these reviews and others circulating about local practices, what could possibly persuade me to choose your facility, especially given my professional background as a senior nurse who thoroughly understands healthcare operations and expectations?

Ashville Surgery: 20 Years of Frustration

I've been a patient at Ashville surgery for two decades, and it's deeply disappointing how drastically their quality has declined. The so-named PATCHS system is completely ineffective, with zero follow-up communication. It's virtually impossible to secure an in-person consultation with any of the physicians! The situation seems incomprehensible - how can they continue operating a medical practice in such an unacceptable manner? Something must be done to address these serious issues, as both senior citizens and younger patients rely critically on their healthcare services...

No Response on My Urine Sample

I'm constantly frustrated by the lack of responsiveness from my healthcare provider. My submitted patches are either overlooked or receive an extremely delayed response. Today, I completed a urine test and have been waiting anxiously for results. When I contacted the reception, they informed me the sample was insufficient - which I comprehend - but they failed to proactively communicate that I needed to provide another sample. Now it's Friday, the practice is shutting down for the weekend, leaving me in a precarious position. Given my documented history of urinary tract infections that have previously escalated to kidney infections, this communication breakdown feels particularly concerning and potentially risky.

Worst Medical Care I've Ever Experienced

I'd award zero stars if I could. The situation has deteriorated so severely that I'm now facing the prospect of finding an alternative medical practice after 25 years of loyalty. They're constantly redirecting patients and failing to address any concerns effectively. It's truly disappointing, as this surgery was once a model of efficiency, but now it's fallen far short of its previous standards.

Great care during my pregnancy years

During my 13-year tenure at Ashville, I consistently encountered exceptional care. The medical staff, both physicians and nurses, demonstrated remarkable compassion and efficiency, with minimal wait times. When I had my child, they were equally attentive and supportive. Unfortunately, relocating forced me to seek a new healthcare provider within a short 30-day window 🥲. I genuinely wish I could have continued receiving treatment from this outstanding practice.

Near-death experience from bad medical care

WARNING ASHVILLE SURGERY CAN SERIOUSLY DAMAGE YOUR HEALTH Ignored my critical health concerns, leading to a dramatic decline in my medical condition. This negligence resulted in me losing consciousness for over 5 hours, with the fire brigade ultimately breaking into my home to allow paramedics access. I was urgently taken to the acute unit and experienced a life-threatening situation. During my hospital stay, I learned that my condition stemmed from prescribed medication - the same medication I had repeatedly flagged as potentially harmful to my health. Since my hospital discharge, my overall health has continued to worsen. I now require assistive devices for daily activities due to disabilities that emerged after taking the prescribed medication. The circumstances clearly demonstrated a profound lack of professional standards and patient care. I have been deeply traumatized by my near-fatal experience, and those responsible at Ashville Surgery must be held accountable for their egregious service failures. The treatment I received was completely unacceptable, and I cannot comprehend how the practice manager could possibly justify such conduct. My experiences included receiving potential diagnoses without appropriate follow-up, demonstrating a complete absence of medical empathy. The surgery persistently ignored my medication concerns, disregarded my urgent hospital referral requests, refused to prescribe necessary medication, and displayed a discriminatory approach throughout my treatment. It is evident that the service violated every fundamental standard of medical practice, leaving me with a recurring traumatic experience. Who will ultimately take responsibility for these massive negligence errors? While I continue to seek answers, Ashville Surgery bears direct responsibility for my comprehensive health deterioration - physically, psychologically, and emotionally. I sincerely hope you are proud of your actions.

Nightmare GP Practice with Impossible Appointments

Absolute worst medical procedure I've ever experienced. Getting an appointment with the general practitioner is a nightmarish battle with the front desk staff. They completely reject phone consultations and take two full days to respond to digital inquiries. Frequently, they ignore requests entirely, and when they do reply, it's typically to reject in-person appointment requests, forcing patients to repeatedly call or physically visit the clinic and essentially beg for medical attention. Definitely not a genuine public service.

Caring Doctors Helped My Child's Chest Infection

I must express my appreciation for this outstanding general practice, especially the front desk staff, who are truly exceptional at their job. They are consistently helpful, attentive, and adept at resolving any communication challenges between doctors and patients. A special acknowledgment goes to the wonderful Dr. Katherine McWhirter, who expertly diagnosed our 6-year-old's chest infection by carefully listening and recognizing the potential for Asthma. She promptly prescribed Asthma medication without hesitation. Heartfelt thanks to the entire Ashville Surgery team

Dr Rashidy Dismissed My Health Concerns

Utterly disgraceful medical treatment and personnel. Initially consulted Dr Rashidy about critical health issues related to an existing medical condition. He dismissed my concerns, claiming I wasn't genuinely unwell based on previous hospital dismissals. His approach was aggressive, verbally belittling, and intentionally intimidating. After filing a complaint, I sought a female physician for a physical examination regarding a newly discovered lump. Dr Beech categorically refused an in-person examination, instead suggesting I undergo psychological evaluation before any further medical services could be considered. The level of unprofessional and demeaning treatment I experienced is unprecedented in my lifetime. Additional patient testimonials confirm similar experiences. This is fundamentally unacceptable medical practice that demonstrates a complete disregard for patient care and dignity - the entire establishment deserves immediate closure.

Quick Diagnosis Calmed My Travel Cough Fears

I arrived at the clinic today feeling anxious about a concerning respiratory issue - not COVID-related, but a persistent cough that had lingered since returning from overseas travel, which left me worried I might have contracted a serious illness during my flight. The on-duty medical professional was incredibly skilled at identifying my condition, and my consultation started precisely as scheduled. Throughout the entire experience, I felt completely supported and secure. Heartless response to my pregnancy news

I'll never forget the devastating moment on December 21st when I called Asville (during my surgery) to share the news of my pregnancy, only to be met with the callous response: "What do you want me to do about it?" The customer service I experienced at this practice was absolutely abysmal - truly the most heartless treatment I've ever encountered. Their response left me in tears for days, completely devastated by their lack of compassion.
