Patient feedback reveals a deeply divided experience at this GP practice, with significant challenges in appointment access and reception experience alongside pockets of exceptional clinical care. The most persistent concern across reviews is the appointment booking system, where patients report consistent difficulty reaching the practice by telephone, with calls frequently disconnected, long waiting times in queues, and slots unavailable despite calling at designated times. This pattern has created substantial frustration, particularly for those with urgent health needs. Reception experience emerges as highly inconsistent, with some patients praising staff warmth and professionalism, whilst others describe dismissive, discourteous, and unhelpful interactions that have discouraged them from seeking care. Communication issues are evident, including medication errors, delayed test results, and inadequate responsiveness to patient concerns.
Conversely, clinical staff—particularly nursing and medical professionals—receive consistent praise for compassionate care, thorough assessments, and genuine attentiveness. Several patients highlight exceptional doctors and nurses who demonstrated remarkable kindness and professional expertise. The practice environment itself is generally described positively when patients manage to access services. However, continuity of care appears limited, with patients reporting frequent changes in clinicians and difficulty building ongoing relationships. Long waiting times for appointments, sometimes extending months for non-urgent matters, and extended waits on the day of appointments without explanation or apology, reflect broader operational challenges.
The overall picture suggests a practice struggling with capacity and system efficiency, where access barriers and inconsistent reception standards significantly undermine the quality clinical care that many staff members clearly provide. Patients express frustration that fundamental service improvements—particularly in appointment availability, telephone responsiveness, and reception courtesy—remain unaddressed despite repeated feedback.

Frustrating appointment system and poor care
Steer clear of this establishment if you value your time and health. Securing a consultation with a physician is an exercise in futility. They dismiss patients with the hollow promise of calling at 8 AM, yet reaching anyone before 8:30 is a pipe dream. By then, all slots have vanished into thin air. Patient care seems to be an afterthought, with no proper follow-up procedures in place. As for referrals, they might as well be tossed into a black hole, for all the good they do. This practice appears to be a masterclass in inefficiency and neglect.

Frustrating medical appointment fiasco
Where to begin? I phoned yesterday to schedule an appointment with the doctor due to my swollen knee, which was hindering my ability to walk. They informed me that no slots were available for the day, but offered to book me at an alternative GP practice - Abbey Medical Centre in Barking - for the following day. Naturally, I accepted, desperate for assistance. Today, as I approached the centre, I received a call from Abbey. They questioned why I had been booked with them, stating they couldn't assist me as I wasn't their patient, and insisted I return to my regular GP practice. Upon arrival at my usual practice, I was merely told they couldn't help and advised to return home and call again at 8 am tomorrow. All this, mind you, while I could barely walk! It's appalling to treat patients in such a manner - disrespectful and utterly unacceptable. Who's responsible for booking appointments if they can't grasp the basics? Why has seeing a doctor become a game of chance, forcing patients to call incessantly at 8 am daily with no guarantee of success? This system is fundamentally flawed and in dire need of an overhaul!

Charlotte: A beacon of excellence at the GP
While the GP practice itself may not warrant the highest accolade, I must commend the exceptional service consistently provided by Charlotte, the receptionist. Her professionalism, amiability, and willingness to assist have made her my preferred point of contact whenever I reach out to the clinic. In stark contrast, I've encountered an older receptionist at Thames View/King Edwards GP whose demeanor can only be described as discourteous and aloof. Charlotte's presence is truly refreshing, and I'm confident that numerous other patients share my sentiment. Her dedication to maintaining such high standards is truly commendable, and I sincerely hope she continues to excel in her role.

Frustrating GP appointment system fails patients
I've experienced nothing but frustration with this GP practice. Their appointment system is a nightmare - they insist on calling at specific times for different types of appointments, but it's always a futile effort. Without fail, I find myself stuck in an endless queue, only to be told there are no slots left. Their go-to solution? Directing patients to the Barking community walk-in clinic. This level of service is unacceptable, and I've had no choice but to switch to a different GP. The entire experience has been utterly disappointing and inconvenient.

Frustrating wait times and booking system at GP
I regret to say that my experience with this medical practice was far from satisfactory. After enduring a lengthy 20-minute wait on the telephone, I was informed that pre-booking an appointment wasn't an option, despite the fact that I'd be willing to wait over a month. Instead, they proposed I ring back at 10 am the following day to secure a slot, which would still be three weeks or more in the future. I find myself questioning when appointment scheduling became so rigidly time-bound, even for non-urgent matters. I'm curious if other GP surgeries operate under similar constraints. I've been contemplating switching to a different healthcare provider for some time now, and this incident has solidified my decision. Even if it means traveling further, I believe the improved service would justify the extra effort.

Dental office fails to honor appointments
The experience was utterly abysmal. Our family arrived punctually at 4 PM for my children's scheduled appointments at 4:15 PM and 4:30 PM, only to encounter an inexcusable level of inefficiency. Despite the clinic being relatively quiet, with numerous dental professionals idly loitering about, we were forced to depart empty-handed as they were shutting their doors at 4:45 PM. This level of disorganization and disregard for patients' time is simply unacceptable.

Ignored patient struggles with painful medical concerns
Recently, I visited my general practitioner during my pregnancy due to experiencing ulcers and experiencing blood in my mouth. Despite my discomfort and lack of appetite, the medical staff seemed unresponsive and failed to provide any medication or meaningful treatment.

Rude receptionists destroy patient care experience
The reception staff are consistently unpleasant, discourteous, and unprofessional, seemingly inventing their own arbitrary rules and thinking it's acceptable to abruptly terminate calls while patients are mid-conversation. Specifically, Leanne and Gill disconnected the phone on me while I was attempting to discuss obtaining a printed medical history. They demonstrated zero interest in hearing my perspective, continuously interrupting and talking over me, insistently suggesting I use the app - which, importantly, does not contain my complete medical records - and ultimately instructing me to visit the GP in person. I fully intend to submit a formal complaint, as such treatment is completely unacceptable. Given that I struggle with depression, anxiety, and other disabilities, this medical practice urgently needs to implement comprehensive customer service training for all front-desk personnel before allowing them to interact with patients.

Terrible customer service and unprofessional reception
The receptionist's demeanor clearly shows they couldn't care less about helping you. At 8 in the morning, it took me four grueling days of constant disconnections to finally get through, almost as if they're waiting for you to give up or worse. If you're not cut out for customer service, find another job. I've been a client since 2006, and since becoming Arura Medcare, their quality has nosedived from already poor standards. It's frustrating how their professional facade is completely at odds with their actual service quality.

Dentistry dreams crushed by greed and poor service
I'm deeply frustrated with the current state of this dental practice. Having been a dedicated patient since childhood, I've witnessed a significant decline in their service quality. They've transitioned to a private model without any prior communication to long-standing patients, imposing exorbitant fees. This is particularly problematic in a community where many residents may struggle to afford such expensive dental care, leaving them in dire straits. I attempted to voice my concerns through a phone complaint, but the lack of a contact email demonstrates their unprofessional approach. The way they're treating loyal patients is unacceptable. This dentistry has completely lost its former excellence and has deteriorated into something unrecognizable. My disappointment cannot be overstated.

Clinic merger madness leads to patient frustration
The medical staff are genuinely compassionate and attentive, and I've never encountered any problems before. However, I missed the 8am appointment booking window by just two minutes. I had to repeatedly dial in, facing an automated message threatening disconnection, which ultimately happened due to overloaded phone lines. After numerous attempts, I finally got through at 8:16am and found myself number 50 in the queue. The clinic merger was absolutely the worst decision possible. This area desperately needs more medical practices to accommodate patient needs.

Frustrating healthcare with endless wait and poor service
This establishment is absolutely dreadful. We endured a 90-minute wait, and this isn't an isolated incident. The front desk staff are incredibly discourteous. While the physicians themselves are pleasant, they move at a glacial pace. They demonstrate zero consideration for their patients' time. It's nearly impossible to even schedule an appointment, and when I finally manage to connect, they've exhausted their available slots. I'm convinced this place is the root of my mounting anxiety.

Gp appointments fail patients in desperate need
The medical practice itself is excellent, but due to my current health condition, I've been unable to schedule an appointment for several days. I've been trying to call all week long... At position 20, everything falls apart, and at positions 27 and 50, they instruct you to call at 8:00 AM, yet 50 people are already in the queue... My emotional state is already deeply distressed, and this type of frustrating experience is precisely why many individuals become overwhelmed to the point of extreme despair!

Hostile healthcare staff ruin patient experience
The service is abysmal, with staff displaying hostility that creates an unwelcoming environment for patients. If these employees are unhappy in their roles, they should seek alternative employment instead of subjecting patients to their unpleasant demeanor, especially when patients are being courteous. The call system is fundamentally flawed, as waiting first in line for 10 minutes is illogical and frustrating. I strongly recommend that patients begin documenting their interactions with receptionists, and if necessary, doctors and nurses, to provide concrete evidence when reporting these issues to authorities higher up than the general practitioner.

Terrible service and endless phone frustration
This general practitioner is absolutely terrible - they consistently disconnect calls when patients are waiting in queue, typically around the 25th position, and just as you're about to finally speak with someone, they abruptly end the call. They desperately need to hire new front desk staff; the current situation is incredibly frustrating and unprofessional.

Frustrating wait destroys convenient medical appointment promise
Scheduled a blood test early in the day, yet ended up waiting more than an hour to be seen. Choosing a specific time seems pointless if I'm still going to experience such a long delay.
