Quick appointment and friendly service throughout

Attended an appointment at short notice today. There was minimal waiting time, and the diagnosis was provided promptly. Medications were collected the same day, all completed within a few hours. The service was delivered with a friendly manner. Excellent experience.

Impossible to book appointments without calling at dawn

We have been patients at this GP practice for nearly 7 years and have become increasingly frustrated with the difficulty in securing appointments, even when calling at the earliest opportunity in the morning. We have not developed any meaningful connection with the clinical team, as we have had no consistent contact with the same practitioners. During a recent visit, a healthcare professional suggested I arrange a follow-up appointment with a GP to arrange some routine blood work based on concerns I had raised. When I approached the reception desk to request an appointment within a reasonable timeframe, I was informed that advance bookings were not possible and that I would need to call on the day to secure a slot. This contradicted what I had been told previously. This approach creates significant challenges for working patients who need to provide their employers with notice of medical appointments. There appears to be no provision for booking non-urgent but clinically necessary appointments in advance. This has been a notably different experience compared to other practices we have used.

Receptionist spotted a medication problem quickly

The entire team provided exceptional care across all levels. The reception staff demonstrated attentiveness by identifying a concern with medication and arranging a same-day appointment, while the nursing staff conducted thorough assessments and recognised that something required further attention. The clinician who attended in an emergency capacity showed excellent communication skills in encouraging admission to hospital. The practice demonstrated genuine compassion and dedication throughout the experience. I am very grateful for the outstanding support received.

The clinical staff have been outstanding during each visit, taking time to sit down and explain matters thoroughly. Staff unhelpful when booking appointments

The staff were not particularly helpful when I attempted to arrange an appointment. After I eventually secured an appointment following notification of my house move, I was assured that everything would proceed smoothly for the following fortnight. However, just two days after my appointment, I was informed that a referral could not be processed due to my change of address. Given that I had only relocated a short distance away, I felt this was an inefficient use of both my time and the doctor's time.

Spray antibiotic worked better than tablets

Our young child experienced an ear infection and received an initial antibiotic prescription that unfortunately did not resolve the issue, with infection developing in the other ear as well. When we returned for a follow-up appointment, a different clinician prescribed a topical spray antibiotic, which proved much more effective and led to a swift recovery. While I have no concerns about the other healthcare professionals we've seen, this particular clinician was exceptional. They took the time to thoroughly explain the anatomy of the ear and why a spray application would be more beneficial than oral medication in this case, given the limited blood supply to the ear. The clinician demonstrated excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to patient understanding. We wish them continued success in their career.
