Patient Experience Summary

Feedback across the file reveals a deeply divided patient experience, with significant operational challenges overshadowing isolated pockets of positive care. The most consistent concern centres on appointment access, with patients reporting extended phone queues lasting 30 minutes to over an hour, frequent unavailability of same-day slots, and waiting periods stretching weeks or months even for urgent matters. Reception experience is similarly polarised: while some patients praise courteous and helpful staff, others describe dismissive, curt, or disrespectful interactions that compound frustration when seeking care. Communication gaps persist throughout the booking journey, with patients struggling to reach the practice and receiving limited guidance on alternatives when appointments cannot be secured.

Where clinical care is accessed, responses vary markedly. Several patients report compassionate nursing care, responsive clinicians, and efficient vaccination services delivered with professionalism. However, other accounts describe lack of responsiveness, poor clinical decision-making, and insufficient support during urgent situations. Complaints about system inefficiency are widespread, including delays in processing correspondence, unresponsive complaint procedures, and reliance on digital platforms that patients find difficult to navigate. A minority of reviews highlight exceptional individual practitioners and welcoming environments, yet these positive experiences are substantially outweighed by accounts of prolonged waiting times, appointment scarcity, and perceived indifference to patient needs.

The practice appears to be managing significant capacity constraints, though this does not fully account for the consistency of complaints regarding communication and responsiveness. Patients express particular concern about access barriers during urgent health situations and the limited availability of timely medical consultation, with some reporting they have resorted to alternative services including walk-in centres and private healthcare.

Totally inept

Phoned for an appointment at 0800. Was second in the queue. Phone answered at 0807. (not bad I thought) Was told no appointments available , fully booked. Therefore there could only have been 1 appointment available for that day, IE the first in the queue, and thats assuming they got an appointment. Visited the surgery to make an appointment was told earliest was 3 weeks time. Despite explaining that the GP had advised me to see him if my symptoms did not improve by that date. Have realised that being advised to call at 0800 for an appointment that day is a complete waste of time, so is visiting the surgery for an appoinment. If you suffer from anxiety over your health then this service only compounds it

Frustrating doctor experience with unhelpful service

The reception team is top-notch, but after enduring a three-week wait for an appointment (which I understand due to their busy schedule), the doctor who called seemed unprepared, with incorrect information about me. When I attempted to clarify details, he appeared irritated and abruptly ended the call, instructing me to schedule another appointment. I'm inclined to skip that. While I'm not dealing with a life-threatening condition (as far as I know), this telehealth service they're promoting seems entirely ineffective. As mentioned before, the reception staff are incredibly kind and supportive. To add, I diligently tracked my blood pressure and pulse four times daily for over a week, submitting all required forms prior to the consultation. During the appointment, these measurements were completely disregarded, rendering the entire interaction a total exercise in futility.

Worst medical service ever experienced by patient

This medical service is utterly incompetent and disgraceful. Their complete disregard for patient care is appalling, with constant, chaotic system changes that have become too numerous to track. Despite my requirement for medication every quarter, they've consistently failed to establish a simple repeat prescription process. Now, I'm forced to discontinue my treatment due to unmanageable side effects, and obtaining professional medical guidance seems impossible. Their negligent approach borders on criminal, as Balderton Surgery recklessly jeopardizes both patients' physical and psychological well-being.

Terrible customer service from a lazy healthcare provider

Utterly frustrating, the only way to communicate is through their Evergreen App, and they consistently disregard messages. When you attempt to call, you're informed that the doctor handling your case has already left for the day, forcing you to wait until tomorrow. Once again, their service is completely unacceptable 😔.

Terrible customer service on evergreen app

Steer clear of this platform - it's disrespectful and ineffective. The Evergreen app gives you a single opportunity, which vanishes once all appointments are booked. If you're unfamiliar with the system, expect to be treated condescendingly. They've driven away some exceptional medical professionals from their team.

Worst medical service ever frustrating and unhelpful

I'm reluctantly awarding a single star, and that's being generous. The front desk staff are completely useless and seem clueless about the evergreen app's functionality. When I called at 8am, they claimed to be fully booked and offered no assistance, even though the app isn't working properly. Their brilliant suggestion was to try the app again tomorrow? I've physically visited the clinic four separate times, and each occasion has been equally frustrating with zero helpful support. What exactly is the purpose of this medical practice if patients can't actually see a doctor, especially after waiting over a week?!

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Attempted to reach out to the medical clinic about my test results, but discovered the phone lines are non-functional due to technical difficulties. This healthcare practice is utterly ridiculous.

Exceptional care with a compassionate and attentive doctor

I've consulted Dr. Patel multiple times at this medical practice, and each visit has been exceptional. Having a physician who already understands my medical history was incredibly beneficial, allowing us to build upon previous conversations and develop a comprehensive treatment strategy. The proactive scheduling of a follow-up appointment provided me with genuine comfort, knowing my health would be closely tracked. The level of care I've experienced has been truly remarkable, especially from Dr. Patel, who has demonstrated extraordinary dedication to my treatment. Their professional approach, careful attention to detail, and sincere commitment to patient care have been truly impressive. I wholeheartedly endorse this medical practice for anyone seeking thoughtful and empathetic healthcare services.

Heartbreaking failure of healthcare system exposed

A perfect representation of the NHS's current failures. Zero compassion, zero understanding, and completely inflexible with their app-only booking system. Calling means enduring endless, irrelevant recorded messages before you can even choose an option. From my perspective, their negligence directly contributed to my partner's premature death and is now causing my young daughter's ongoing health issues because they're utterly indifferent to patients' concerns. A total mockery of healthcare, a complete disaster, and a disgraceful reflection on the NHS's standards.

Frustrating clinic with endless waiting and empty promises

Perpetually tardy... Despite an unoccupied waiting area, I endured over 40 minutes before seeing a nurse. This is utterly ridiculous... And it's not an isolated incident... Seems like chronic tardiness is their norm... The front desk personnel consistently offer the same tired excuse... (We're running behind, you're up next)

Frustrating experience with unreliable and inefficient clinic

A complete mockery of what a general practice should be... Securing an appointment is nearly impossible, and when you miraculously manage to book one, they're consistently behind schedule (currently running 35 minutes late). The new app has only made matters more frustrating, rendering appointment booking essentially unattainable. What a delightful GP practice, truly.

Terrible gp service failed my child's medical needs

I am deeply frustrated by the scarcity of GP appointments precisely when medical care is most critical. The situation is particularly distressing because it involves my child. After consulting a pharmacist and 111 service, who advise seeing a GP, you're instructed to call at 8am the next day, only to endure a 30-minute to hour-long wait and ultimately be told no appointments are available. I can't recall the last time I physically visited or spoke with a Balderon Primary GP. To: "Dr." Udeze I am profoundly dissatisfied with your professional conduct as a medical practitioner. Your apparent lack of medical competence seems potentially hazardous. Initially, my son was denied a referral, which only materialized through my partner's persistent advocacy. Dr. Udeze, here's the outcome: We ultimately secured assistance, resolving my son's medical issues and restoring our family's well-being. Once referred, we received exceptional care and treatment at QMC hospital. Dr. Udeze represents a category of practitioners who arguably should not be practicing medicine. To future patients, be forewarned: You'll likely encounter dismissive statements like: "What would you like me to do?" "He doesn't need it, it looks fine to me" Be prepared to persistently challenge and advocate, viewing him as an impediment rather than a healthcare provider.
