Absolutely dreadful general practice. Their online consultation service is restricted to a single, inconvenient time slot at 7:30. No option for phone consultations. Receptionists are unhelpful, making patients feel like they're pleading for basic assistance. The practice constantly rotates doctors, ensuring no continuity of care. An utterly disappointing healthcare experience.

Terrible service at a frustrating medical practice

Scheduling an appointment at this practice is impossible. When I was seriously sick, they denied me a slot, forcing me to seek emergency care at A&E. Their phone lines are perpetually unresponsive. Located at 130 Upney Lane, the reception staff, particularly one individual, is extremely discourteous. I eventually confronted them, questioning the purpose of having a GP who won't provide medical access. I've been with this practice since 1993, after moving to Barking, and I'm bewildered by the ongoing mistreatment and lack of basic patient care.

Terrible gp service with dangerous medical negligence

I rarely write reviews, but this GP practice is so terrible that I feel compelled to share my experience. Some doctors completely disregard patients' insights about their own health and seem eager to rush through consultations. During a seizure, the doctor sat far away and appeared indifferent. She claimed she would order tests and send medication to my pharmacy, but later I discovered nothing was done, forcing me to schedule another appointment the next day. The reception/admin staff have made repeated errors, including scheduling incorrect appointments or providing wrong locations like orchards. My elderly parents, who aren't tech-savvy like many seniors, find it impossible to book appointments by phone, which is unfair since most slots are now via e-consult. For the past 2-3 weeks, my eczema has severely flared with allergic reactions causing skin discoloration on my face, yet my consultation is booked three weeks away? I've requested simple administrative tasks like accessing blood test results or immunization records and received zero response. When I called the Orchards GP, the receptionist claimed no one could help me. This is deeply concerning, especially as I work in the NHS and know these are standard administrative duties. Whenever my facial eczema worsens or allergic reactions intensify, attempting to book another e-consult results in being told I already have an appointment. The fact that my skin is developing color and texture changes seems meaningless to them. My condition deteriorated to the point of requiring A&E treatment at Queens hospital! Previously, late appointments were available until 6:30, but now reception claims the latest slot is 5:10, with cleaning time starting at 6:00. This is absurd—their website still indicates a 6:30 closure. If they're not actually open, that information should be removed. As someone working in NHS hospitals and with numerous GPs, I can confidently say this is the worst service I've ever encountered. Absolutely disgraceful—NHS England must investigate and either implement significant changes or shut this practice down completely!

Frustrating and inefficient healthcare experience

I'm not typically someone who writes reviews, but I feel compelled to do so now. During a prior visit, the doctor appeared disinterested and seemed eager to quickly conclude our consultation. Today, I was granted an urgent appointment, only to be seen by a physician assistant rather than an actual doctor. Had this been communicated upfront, I would have chosen a different date to avoid taking time off work. Subsequently, I received a prescription and went to the pharmacy hours later, only to discover they had not received any documentation. I attempted to contact the GP's office multiple times, waiting on hold, but no one responded. While I'm not a frequent visitor to this practice, the level of service has been thoroughly disappointing.

I've been attempting to reach out for a fortnight, but they persistently direct me to an e-consult system. I've tried accessing the e-consult between 7-8am daily for four consecutive days, and each time it tells me to try again tomorrow due to capacity issues, even when I start right at 7am. I'm completely baffled about how I'm supposed to actually make contact with anyone.

I've been a patient at this practice for over 15 years and previously held it in high regard. Regrettably, while the medical professionals are acceptable, the administrative team is woefully inadequate. Their demeanor is consistently dismissive and unhelpful, with staff members who seem reluctant to engage with patients and appear challenging to contact. When errors are identified, they become defensive rather than addressing the issues. Booking appointments is nearly impossible, and their default response is to redirect patients to the econsult system. Despite claiming the econsult service opens at 7:30am, its capacity mysteriously fills by 7:10am - a situation that defies logic. The overall management of this practice is substandard, and I'm certain Dr. Ahmad would be deeply disappointed by the current state of affairs.

Frustrating gp service with endless appointment struggles

Been with this medical practice for nearly a decade, and the front desk staff seem to be deteriorating by the minute.... An update for 22/3/2024: I underwent surgery on 11/3/24 and unfortunately developed skin cellulitis. I was hospitalized and then released after a few days. Yesterday, I observed my hand and the affected area becoming itchy and spotty, so I immediately contacted the GP. They advised me to do an e-consultation tomorrow. Now the GP is suggesting an appointment five days from now!!! I'm unsure what kind of operation they're running - securing an appointment here is like searching for a rare treasure!!! I intend to escalate this matter, as I have documentation of all my communications.
