Absolutely Awful!

Multiple issues with prescriptions, trying to get any appointments is awful, they say you will get a phone call appointment and half the time they just don’t call and the rare occasion they do actually call it there beyond useless tell you actually you need a face to face appointment and it’s going to be at least a 3-12 week wait for said appointment, terrible! It’s definitely not a family friendly surgery, it’s a surgery for elderly and nothing more im 28 and have been told im too young to have so many chronic health conditions and been referred essential medication purely because of my age, disgusting! My children have been seriously unwell and have been waiting on a phone call appointment for it never to come, only to phone 111 and end up in hospital with them yet the doctors couldn’t even be bothered to fulfill the appointment, this is by far the worst DOCTORS SURGERY I’ve ever experienced. I dont recommend this surgery, theres only 2 doctors in the whole practice that aren’t plain awful or ageist.

I've been compelled to leave Barnfield Hill surgery against my will, unable to schedule an appointment with a GP of my preference. I was receiving satisfactory medical care, but after a decade of being a patient there, I've reached my breaking point and must seek healthcare elsewhere due to the unpleasant staff and treatment.

Unhelpful doctor with poor diagnostic skills

Steer clear of Dr. Alexandros Rosios. I consulted him regarding a particular health issue, but he was fixated on diagnosing unrelated conditions. I cannot advise anyone to see this physician. He provided absolutely no assistance with my concerns.

Shortly after our conversation, a physician contacted me, carefully addressing my concerns while maintaining strict patient privacy protocols. This medical practice truly stands out with its warm and supportive team - I am deeply appreciative of their exceptional care and kindness.

Dangerous medical neglect threatens patient's life

My encounter with this medical practice has been profoundly disheartening. Upon settling in Exeter a year ago, I found myself trapped in a bureaucratic limbo between the surgery and the local diabetes center, resulting in a complete absence of vital support that pushed me perilously close to diabetes burnout and nearly fatal consequences. Recently, following a seizure and subsequent doctor's referral to the diabetes center, I was informed that my Type 1 Diabetes wasn't considered the underlying cause, despite experiencing significant ketone elevation and enduring 36 hours of unrelenting full-body tremors. This has perpetuated an infuriating cycle of being shuttled between services, with neither taking responsibility for providing comprehensive care. This pattern has recurred repeatedly, leaving me utterly exhausted and demoralized. It appears the medical staff are more fixated on categorizing my condition than addressing my actual needs, which feels tantamount to systemic neglect and a fundamental breach of professional responsibility. My challenging living circumstances—residing in freezing conditions and surviving under electric blankets since November—have further complicated my health, leading to poor nutrition and minimal physical activity. Despite dedicating nearly seven months to securing a supportive grant and meticulously presenting guidelines and formal complaints, the doctor consistently refused to endorse my efforts. Ultimately, I cannot recommend this surgery, as my experience has comprehensively decimated any remaining confidence in their capacity to deliver even the most basic standard of patient care.

Terrible service and uncaring medical practice

I strongly advise seeking an alternative medical practice, as this one is truly terrible. I submitted a complaint to the practice manager last summer (2023), and received absolutely no response. The reception staff are deceitful, and one specific doctor is exceptionally unpleasant and hostile. The nurses are the sole redeeming feature of this facility. I've escalated my concerns to the Care Quality Commission, but they have not yet taken any action. It's utterly unacceptable for an NHS general practice to behave in such a manner, simply dismissing patients with medication and demonstrating a complete lack of mental health support. This surgery has significantly deteriorated my overall well-being.

Their scheduling is typically prompt, offering appointments within a few days for urgent matters and within a week for less pressing concerns. I confidently endorse their medical care.
