I've been a patient at this medical practice for four decades, even back when Dr. Wakefield ran it on Dunstable Road, and it has consistently been exceptional. While there were some appointment challenges during the pandemic, after two recent visits, I recognize that the medical team is working incredibly hard to provide the best care possible under challenging conditions. Some of the negative reviews online seem unwarranted and unfair.

I've been a patient at this medical practice for seven years and while the physicians consistently perform their duties professionally, the overall system is deeply flawed. It's virtually impossible to secure an appointment when necessary, and despite waiting on hold since early morning, no progress is ever made. Moreover, several of the front desk staff exhibit an unacceptably discourteous attitude.

This GP practice seems uniquely dedicated to serving only the unemployed, elderly, and stay-at-home parents, with absolutely no consideration for working professionals. Their receptionist has become increasingly unhelpful, categorically refusing to handle prescription requests via phone, which is especially frustrating given their already restrictive and impractical operating hours that completely disregard typical work schedules. They urgently need to modernize their approach and prioritize patient convenience over staff comfort. Anyone seeking more accessible healthcare should definitely consider registering with the alternative Barton Hills practice, which at least offers Saturday availability.

Overwhelmed staff struggling with broken healthcare system

I consistently observe that the front desk personnel make every effort to secure an appointment. They shouldn't be blamed when available slots are fully booked. The issue lies with the current system that forces patients to line up externally at the medical center. Elderly individuals and those who are seriously unwell cannot stand in a physical queue, so their only alternative is to call. However, due to the high volume of people waiting and occupying both appointment slots and the reception staff's time, many are unable to successfully connect.

Worst medical practice experience ever

I began attempting to contact the medical practice at 8 AM and, after an exhausting 87 call attempts, I finally got through. I then endured 7 minutes stuck at position 2 in the queue and another 14 minutes at position 1, only to be informed that no appointments were available. Considering the phone lines were apparently non-functional for more than 30 minutes, I find their explanation completely unconvincing. The entire experience has left me thoroughly frustrated and furious.

Scheduling an appointment here is an incredibly frustrating experience. I spent well over half an hour attempting to connect, and when I finally reached the front of the line, the call abruptly disconnected. This is a recurring issue for me. Absolutely unacceptable!!
