I have consistently received excellent support from this practice. The clinician I see is fantastic and has a reassuring manner that puts me at ease during appointments. I never feel rushed or that my questions are dismissed. The pharmacy team are also brilliant.

Quick e-consult reply and same-day appointment arranged

Outstanding experience at the medical centre. I submitted an online consultation and got a response within sixty minutes from a clinician recommending I arrange an in-person visit. When I rang to book, the reception staff were able to fit me in the same day, and I was assessed by another clinician. I was able to commence my treatment plan immediately. The service was exceptional and I'm very grateful. Every member of staff I encountered was courteous, supportive and genuinely committed to assisting patients despite clearly managing a demanding workload in a pressured setting.

Long waits left my son distressed and upset

I have been a patient at this surgery for many years and generally consider it to be a good practice with a largely supportive team. I typically give the surgery five-star ratings, however on this occasion I feel compelled to give a lower rating due to concerns about how the practice manages appointments for patients with mental health conditions. I attended an appointment with my adult son at the scheduled time, arriving a few minutes early. After waiting beyond the appointment slot, I approached the reception desk to enquire about the delay and was informed that the previous patient was still being seen. I requested to speak with the practice manager and explained that my son, who has significant communication difficulties, was becoming increasingly anxious and upset. I was advised that only one clinician was available that day and that this clinician was a temporary locum. This situation had occurred previously with the same locum, resulting in a lengthy wait of approximately 45 minutes. By the time my son was called in, the delay had extended to over an hour past the scheduled time, and he was extremely distressed. The clinician did offer an apology, though the damage to my son's wellbeing had already been done. I believe the practice should review its approach to supporting patients with mental health and neurodevelopmental needs, particularly on days when locum cover is in place. For those of us caring for vulnerable family members, witnessing their distress in a public waiting area is deeply difficult. I would encourage the practice to consider implementing measures such as offering next-day appointments with regular clinicians when locum cover is scheduled, rather than asking patients to call back the following morning.

Receptionist wouldn't let me finish speaking

I had a very negative experience with the receptionist during a phone call. The interaction was extremely frustrating, with difficulty getting a word in and feeling that my concerns were dismissed. This was the poorest service I have encountered at any medical practice, and I would not recommend this experience to others.

Why does the online consultation system indicate that you need to speak with someone regarding your health concerns, yet when you call to arrange this, you're informed that the practice cannot connect you with a clinician or staff member? This seems to defeat the purpose of the service.

Email booking made appointments much easier for me

Compared to my previous GP practice, this one has been notably supportive of my healthcare journey, facilitating blood tests at their surgery. I have not experienced any discrimination from clinical staff or reception personnel. I particularly appreciated the support I received from one team member who went above and beyond in assisting me. I am also grateful for the option to book appointments via email, as I find telephone and in-person booking challenging. For someone with my needs, this alternative method makes the appointment process considerably more accessible and comfortable.

Staff dismissiveness left me feeling unheard

I was recently removed from the practice following a phone call, with the reason given being concerning behavior. I felt this was unfair, as I believe my frustration arose from feeling dismissed and mocked by staff during our interactions. When people feel disrespected, emotional reactions are understandable, though I acknowledge the practice may have had different perspectives on the conversation. I have found my experience at this surgery to be deeply unsatisfactory. Having recently relocated to the UK from abroad, I have become frustrated with what I perceive as barriers to accessing care. I feel that medication decisions are being made with justifications that seem unnecessary, and I worry these decisions are not primarily driven by clinical need. The process of managing my prescriptions has been distressing, and I have found myself frequently contacting the practice in an upset state. The staff seem unclear about my medical history and appear unable to resolve issues effectively. My overall experience has negatively impacted my wellbeing. Recently, I was unable to obtain a necessary medication because an annual review had not been completed, despite having only recently returned to the country. When I questioned how I should manage my health in the interim, I did not receive a satisfactory answer. I felt abandoned by the practice during a time when I needed support. I submitted a formal complaint to the practice management, but the response I received felt generic and did not address my specific concerns.
