Patient Experience Summary

Patients consistently praise the clinical expertise and compassionate care provided by medical staff, with physicians and nursing teams receiving strong recognition for their professional knowledge and attentiveness. However, this positive assessment is significantly undermined by widespread concerns about reception and administrative services. Appointment access presents a major challenge, with patients reporting difficulties reaching the practice by phone, long waiting times, unreliable phone lines, and limited availability through online booking systems. Reception staff interactions are frequently described as discourteous, dismissive, and unhelpful, creating barriers to care and leaving patients feeling disrespected during vulnerable moments.

Administrative responsiveness has also deteriorated, with patients experiencing delays in prescription processing, insurance documentation, and general enquiries. Some report waiting months for responses from practice management, while others struggle with changes to online systems that have complicated access to repeat prescriptions and appointment scheduling. The contrast between excellent clinical care and poor administrative support creates a frustrating experience where patients value their doctors but feel hindered by the systems and personnel managing access to those services.

Positive feedback highlights instances of prompt same-day consultations, user-friendly online platforms when functioning well, and supportive nursing care. Several patients note that when they successfully reach the right staff member, their needs are met efficiently. The practice appears to offer good facilities and convenient parking, and minor procedures are available on-site. However, the consistency of negative feedback regarding appointment access, phone communication, and reception courtesy suggests these administrative challenges significantly impact overall patient satisfaction and confidence in the service.

Booking nightmare during work hours

Absolutely terrible reservation process. They refuse to take bookings via telephone. The online scheduling platform is equally frustrating, as it exclusively permits appointments during standard business hours? Completely ineffective system that has pushed back my appointment scheduling by a minimum of seven days! What provisions exist for individuals without internet access or smartphone capabilities?

Worst medical practice in town

The care here is abysmal. The receptionists are terrible. The GP is equally poor. They show absolutely no concern for patients, willfully medically neglecting individuals (it took an excruciatingly long time before they would even acknowledge the health issues I was experiencing, and after YEARS of my health problems becoming so severe they completely disrupted my life, I finally received a diagnosis), their administrative processes are horrendous (I'm still waiting on a name change request submitted in May, which I had already attempted before May!), and nearly every staff member is miserable beyond description. I personally visited their office A WHOLE WEEK before needing my patient summary, explicitly explaining that without it I cannot access critical help I desperately require, and yet they still haven't complied. Calling them is futile - they will simply hang up. They are dismissive, lacking any semblance of compassion or empathy. They consistently misinterpret clear statements, with numerous inaccuracies in my medical records that are so bizarre I cannot comprehend their origin, and their overall organization is chaotic. When I was 14 and coughing up fresh blood and what appeared to be coffee grounds, I even documented evidence with a photograph, and they completely disregarded me. I recently discovered this could indicate internal bleeding. I am absolutely committed to filing a formal complaint and strongly recommend others with negative experiences do the same. If this practice cannot improve, it deserves to be shut down entirely.

Uber rush for late and confusing appointment

Made an initial appointment for 16:45, and they unexpectedly contacted us three days prior to shift the time to 1 hour earlier (15:45). Rushed after work, grabbed an Uber to ensure punctuality. Despite all our efforts, we were finally seen at 17:25, and even the physician seemed unclear about the reason for the schedule change. Absolutely absurd to waste 1.5 hours waiting. Completely unacceptable.

Friendly staff, tricky booking system

The medical staff here are wonderful and compassionate. Scheduling an appointment can be challenging, though I've found that aiming for earlier time slots tends to improve my chances. Since the implementation of their new booking platform, I've experienced some additional complications and sincerely hope they will address these issues promptly.

Medication delay left me helpless and stranded

I'm deeply frustrated with this medical practice. They've abruptly overhauled their online platform, leaving me stranded without critical medication during the verification process. Despite being immobilized and unable to leave my bed, they refuse to assist me via telephone, even though this disruption is entirely their doing. The website's new authentication procedure will take a minimum of three days, potentially forcing me into a hospital stay due to their bureaucratic hurdles.

Frustrating wait times and booking headache

Scheduling an appointment here is a nightmare! They've eliminated phone bookings and now force you to use their online system. I just attempted to book, and there are zero slots open for the next fortnight! What options do I have left? Am I expected to show up at the emergency department and complain about my knee pain?

Pregnant and humiliated by rude receptionists

The receptionists at this medical practice consistently leave me feeling utterly distressed. I actively avoid calling them whenever possible, but today, being pregnant, I had no alternative. There have been multiple instances where I've ended phone calls in tears, unable to secure an appointment, forcing me to send numerous emails addressing the issue. This morning, I called regarding a sensitive matter. The receptionist curtly told me to book online, which I explained was impossible today. She then mockingly laughed, seemingly irritated that I was requesting her to perform her actual job (with what sounded like her colleague also giggling). She abruptly scheduled an appointment and demanded to know the reason, causing my heart to race as I nervously shared personal medical information, feeling completely unsafe and vulnerable. I'm not typically someone who writes reviews, but I can confidently state that every single interaction with these receptionists has left me feeling bullied, anxious, and emotionally devastated. Despite repeatedly highlighting these problems through emails, it appears no meaningful training or accountability measures have been implemented.

Quick care for my premature daughter

The medical team here is exceptional. Their online form system allows you to submit your health concern, and they consistently respond within half an hour, offering same-day consultations. Scheduling non-urgent future appointments has also been seamless. This was particularly crucial for my premature daughter with specialized medical requirements - she's always been seen promptly, typically within hours of our request. I recognize that individuals less comfortable with digital platforms might find the process challenging, but from my perspective, both the administrative staff and the healthcare provided have been absolutely flawless.

Doctors great, but receptionists are awful

The medical staff are fantastic, but why do the receptionists have to be so incredibly unpleasant? It's truly disheartening when they treat you with such contempt while you're simply trying to schedule an appointment. This seems to be a consistent issue. All the physicians and nurses (who undoubtedly have the most challenging roles) are wonderful, yet every time I call, the receptionists sound utterly miserable and unwelcoming.

Scheduling a consultation here is an exercise in futility. Every time I attempt to book a slot, I'm met with endless roadblocks and unavailable time windows. Compassionate care from beaconsfield doctors

I'm absolutely thrilled with this medical practice and its incredible staff. I feel incredibly fortunate to have discovered such an exceptional healthcare team, from the welcoming front desk to the skilled physicians. Despite struggling with mental health challenges, the care I've experienced has been truly outstanding, and they've been equally attentive to my physical health concerns. I've consulted with four different general practitioners and met one doctor in person, and the consistent quality of treatment has been remarkable. In my view, Beaconsfield represents the gold standard of medical care. My heartfelt gratitude goes out to them.

Nightmare booking system for disabled patients

Securing an appointment here is an immense challenge, particularly for neurodivergent individuals like myself. When you finally manage to see a doctor, they adopt a condescending attitude that suggests your symptoms are purely psychological. Obtaining referrals requires persistent pleading, and comprehensive physical examinations are conspicuously absent. After being their patient for over two years, the situation has only deteriorated. Update 25 Nov 2024: I wish I could award negative stars! This abysmal scheduling system appears deliberately designed to obstruct sick and disabled patients. I've wasted an entire hour trapped in telephone limbo. After receiving my queue number, the system repeatedly disconnected me, forcing repeated calls to rejoin the waiting line. This frustrating cycle occurred approximately 15 times during a single interaction! Just as I reached first in the queue, they terminated the call!! Upon redialing, I was inexplicably pushed back to position 19, and at number 12, they again severed the connection. It's profoundly distressing that these are the healthcare providers we must rely upon.

Quick help for sudden hearing loss

I was thoroughly impressed with the service I received today. On a whim, I stopped by in the morning hoping someone could assist me with my sudden hearing loss. The morning receptionist (whose name escapes me, but who was working at the GP office at 8 a.m. on 14th Oct 2024) promptly scheduled me an appointment with Claudine that very day. Claudine was exceptional and had a comprehensive treatment plan ready, along with a referral to an ENT specialist, all completed by lunchtime. She even called me twice to confirm the details after coordinating with the specialist following our appointment. Given how challenging it can sometimes be to secure a quick medical consultation, I felt either fortunate or appreciative that both the receptionist and the Advanced Nurse Practitioner recognized the urgency of my situation and acted swiftly. In previous visits for less critical matters, I've been offered appointments days later, which seemed reasonable. It's reassuring to know that when a potentially serious issue arises, they demonstrate genuine concern and make every effort to provide prompt assistance. My heartfelt thanks to the entire team:-)
