Patient Experience Summary

Feedback on this practice reveals a deeply divided patient experience with significant operational challenges alongside pockets of genuine appreciation. Appointment access emerges as the most persistent concern, with patients reporting difficulty securing consultations within reasonable timeframes, lengthy phone queues, and a booking system that many find confusing or inaccessible. Reception experience is similarly polarized, with some patients describing staff as welcoming and supportive whilst others report discourteous, dismissive, or unhelpful interactions. Communication failures appear systemic, including delayed responses to emails, unprocessed prescription requests, and inadequate follow-up on test results.

Where the practice receives consistent praise is in clinical care and nursing support. Patients frequently commend the medical staff for compassion, professionalism, and thorough attention during consultations. The nursing team is repeatedly described as warm, supportive, and skilled. Telephone consultations are valued by those who can access them, and prescription services generally function well when they proceed smoothly. However, these positive clinical experiences are often overshadowed by frustration with the administrative systems that precede them.

Accessibility barriers are noted across multiple dimensions, including complex online booking interfaces, limited phone availability, and physical accessibility concerns. The practice's shift towards online systems and away from phone contact, whilst intended to manage demand, has created obstacles for some patients. Overall, the feedback suggests a practice with capable medical professionals operating within systems that struggle to meet patient needs for timely access and responsive communication.

Frustrating delays and subpar medical care

Every single visit involves waiting well over 20 minutes past the scheduled time, often even longer. More often than not, I'm shuffled off to see a nurse instead of the actual doctor. It seems like their own schedules and convenience take precedence over patient care. If healthcare professionals can't prioritize patient experience over their personal concerns, what's the point of being in this profession?

Compassionate care saved me from allergy nightmare

I experienced an unfamiliar allergic reaction and quickly sought medical assistance at the clinic. The receptionist was exceptionally supportive and ensured I was attended to promptly, with a wait time of just 20 minutes. Dr Mathur and Nurse Natalie were wonderfully compassionate, creating a reassuring environment and giving me their full attention throughout the consultation.

The process was swift, and the waiting area was remarkably uncrowded.

Frustrating pharmacy service for critical asthma medication

I've recently encountered numerous challenges with the pharmacy's prescription service As an asthma patient, I rely on my inhaler. I sent an email and received a response stating it wasn't due until August, which was dismissive I followed up explaining my illness was the reason my inhaler was depleted earlier than expected The asthma nurse had previously advised me I could use the inhaler more frequently if necessary. How is there such a clear lack of communication between departments? I was initially told I could increase inhaler usage, but then subsequently denied a new prescription I've now been forced to persistently follow up about my inhaler after receiving no response to my last email for two days Typically, the pharmacy team has been exceptionally helpful and supportive. Recently, however, their service has noticeably declined No one should have to endure unnecessary stress and anxiety when seeking critical medication

Terrible healthcare journey with simple vitamin d fix

Consulting a doctor was an ordeal from the start, and the frustration only escalated. I was battling debilitating exhaustion, spending most of my time sleeping and struggling to function during my waking hours. The medical journey was a maze of endless appointments, inconclusive discussions, and perpetual waiting. Eventually, a blood test was conducted, followed by vague results that required additional phone calls and another appointment. During this follow-up, the healthcare provider dismissed my physical symptoms, suggesting I seek mental health support if my condition persisted for another month - which would have meant joining an interminable waiting list for treatment I likely wouldn't have needed. These months of investigation completely disrupted my professional and personal life, leaving me perpetually drained and unproductive. Exasperated, I opted for a private medical consultation. Surprisingly, they quickly identified the root cause: vitamin D deficiency. Within days of starting supplements, my energy levels normalized, and I've remained vibrant and active for a month now.

Frustrating phone booking system wastes patients time

The Surgery insists on calling precisely at 8 to schedule an appointment, but how realistic is that when everyone is attempting to do the same? Do they have a staff of fifty ready to handle incoming calls at 8 am? No shock here - when you ring at 8 am, you'll find yourself stuck behind more than thirty callers!! I'm completely baffled by the reasoning behind this operational approach. Furthermore, there have been previous instances where, even when positioned first in the queue, I've endured wait times approaching an entire hour.

Worst healthcare experience ever terrible customer service

Truly, the situation continues to deteriorate. You're forced to endure endless waiting times just to secure an appointment After laboriously navigating their system and successfully scheduling a prescription to be dispatched to Tesco pharmacy for next-day pickup, it hasn't been processed When contacting reception, they dismissively respond, "you'll need to consult a GP" Zero effort to communicate the issue to me proactively. Not my responsibility to chase this up The service has completely collapsed

Amazing healthcare that truly cares for patients

From the welcoming front desk staff to the GPS and nursing team, every interaction has been exceptional! The ability to request a callback and continue with my work, knowing they'll contact me when available, is incredibly convenient! When I relocated to Chelmsford, I was struggling severely with my mental health, and without the incredible Doctor I consulted, I might not have survived. Since then, every medical concern I've experienced has been addressed with outstanding care and efficiency. Requesting repeat prescriptions via email is remarkably practical! The wonderful nurses who administer my periodic injections are consistently warm and supportive! The reception team is always pleasant and accommodating - I sincerely hope I never need to switch medical practices!

Poor!

Terrible medical practice with zero patient care

Attempting to schedule an appointment with this medical practice is an exercise in futility. Even when following their own instructions to call early, securing a slot is nearly impossible. I endured a staggering 90-minute wait, only to be informed that all appointments were already booked. The automated system bizarrely requires you to select an appointment booking option, despite having no availability - a pointless and frustrating process. Should you miraculously manage to book an appointment, their record-keeping is equally problematic. They've been known to falsely claim they've communicated test results and consistently fail to document telephone consultations accurately. The staff's telephone manner is shockingly unprofessional. Several representatives are discourteous and abrupt, displaying a complete lack of empathy towards patients who may be experiencing significant medical anxiety. Their website boasts of compassionate care, but this appears to be nothing more than empty marketing rhetoric. I haven't witnessed any genuine compassion in at least five years. Fortunately, my family members are registered with a different practice, and I strongly recommend others do the same if they require serious medical attention. They desperately need to improve their telephone system. A simple solution would be to immediately communicate day-specific availability, such as announcing "Monday is for emergencies only" at the start of their recorded message.

Worst medical experience ever terrible healthcare service

If you value your well-being, steer clear of this medical facility. The incompetent front desk staff now act as gatekeepers, deciding arbitrarily which patients deserve an appointment and which should endure weeks of waiting. These receptionists seem to believe they can determine the urgency of medical consultations, treating their clinic like an emergency room and dismissing patient concerns. To make matters worse, the doctor appears to rely on Google for diagnoses, further undermining the quality of care.

Terrible service with discriminatory and unprofessional staff

Nearly three years ago, I relocated to Chelmsford and registered with this GP practice, which was the nearest available. I'm already deeply dissatisfied and actively seeking an alternative surgery. The receptionists display blatant discrimination, treating patients poorly upon hearing a non-English accent. As someone who rarely visits doctors, I'm consistently frustrated by their appointment availability. Today was the final straw when I attempted to book a doctor's appointment. I've spent over a week trying to reach a receptionist and wasted almost an hour on the phone, only to be dismissively told to visit a pharmacy instead. The suggestion was absurd - I spent an hour waiting just to receive such unhelpful advice. Their online booking system is completely non-functional, and during my last appointment two years ago, the doctor was shockingly unprofessional - the rudest medical professional I've ever encountered. To make matters worse, they inexcusably lost my daughter's critical medical documentation, forcing her to re-complete essential paperwork. My recommendation is clear: avoid this GP practice at all costs.

Frustrating healthcare system leaves patient desperate and unheard

Attempting to schedule a medical consultation has become an exercise in frustration. The clinic's approach requires calling at 8am on the day, which means potentially wasting time waiting on hold while surrounded by noisy school children on a bus. It's simply not feasible for working individuals who can't spontaneously take time off or abandon their shift. While I recognize COVID-19 remains a challenge, being told that doctors are absent due to the virus doesn't justify such an inefficient appointment system. Those of us with structured work commitments need a more reliable and considerate method of accessing healthcare.
