The level of service is truly outstanding, and throughout my entire experience, I've never encountered a single issue worth criticizing. The entire team, from the support staff to Dr. Nathans, demonstrates exceptional professionalism. Dr. Nathans, in particular, is incredibly compassionate, always listening attentively and providing support not just to me, but to my entire family. Whenever I arrive feeling anxious or worried, I invariably leave feeling completely reassured after consulting with Dr. Nathans. Even when an immediate consultation isn't possible, I consistently receive timely callback and can secure an appointment quickly. Dr. Nathans is proactive and never hesitates to take necessary actions, readily recommending hospital examinations or additional interventions when required. I'm genuinely perplexed by any negative feedback about this practice, and I suspect such comments might stem from pure malice, as they seem to describe an entirely different medical facility from the one I know. In my experience, this practice is absolutely worth joining, and patients can feel completely confident in the care they'll receive. I am truly thankful to Dr. Nathans and the entire staff, and I sincerely hope they continue their excellent work.

The receptionist failed to disclose that Beechwood operates as a travel clinic where vaccines, even those typically free through NHS, require payment. During my appointment, the nurse claimed she attempted to contact me to explain the procedure, but I wasn't anticipating any calls and couldn't answer due to work constraints. She presented the vaccine price list, which is conspicuously absent from their website - a significant oversight. Ultimately, I paid £70 for hepatitis A and typhoid vaccines, with a £20 discount for being a registered patient, avoiding the full £90 charge. The appointment booking process was unexpectedly slow, which was frustrating considering the premium pricing. I expected more transparency about their service model and consequently cannot recommend them. I plan to switch to a clinic that genuinely provides National Health service rather than a semi-private approach. I appreciate that we ultimately resolved the issue by agreeing I could purchase vaccines from a pharmacy and bring them to the clinic for reimbursement - a sensible solution proposed by the Beechwood team. My recommendation: update the website to clearly state your travel clinic status and service prices. Additionally, staff should proactively explain service details during initial contact to prevent misunderstandings. Thank you for addressing my concerns promptly.

Terrible service drives loyal patient away forever

Despite being a long-standing patient for over two decades, I can no longer continue with this practice, despite the GP's pleasant demeanor. The administrative staff (receptionists) are absolutely terrible, displaying a complete absence of compassion and understanding. They are consistently dismissive and discourteous. At 8am, the online booking system shows no available appointments, and when you visit the surgery in person, a staff member shouts from across the room (refusing to approach the reception desk for a private conversation) and instructs you to book online. When you desperately seek an urgent face-to-face consultation due to being in pain, you are flatly told no appointments are available. Regrettably, my lack of confidence has led me to decide to leave this practice. Dr. Nathans, while you are a genuinely kind individual, you urgently need to address the issues with your front-of-house team. If you don't, you risk losing your entire patient base. Just review the feedback – the overwhelming consensus cannot be ignored!

Absolute zero rating! A complete exercise in futility. The receptionist was incredibly unhelpful, forcefully pushing me to use their app for booking. At 8:30, I checked the app and found zero available appointments. When I called at 8:35 and spoke with Mona (27/03/2023), she immediately interrupted me, insisting I use the app. I explained I had already tried, and she claimed her colleague had just uploaded new slots. Her suggestion to refresh seemed absurd. I requested she book the appointment directly during our call, but she was uncooperative. She reluctantly took my details, asking for my date of birth and preferred doctor. Hastily, she mumbled that a doctor would contact me later, and when I asked for a text confirmation, she flatly refused. Now I'm left waiting with no guarantee. The entire experience was infuriating - it's clear their staff lack basic customer service skills and professional courtesy. Truly disappointing.

The primary physician has been a cornerstone of the practice for over two decades, consistently demonstrating exceptional dedication to both patients and staff. It's all too easy to criticize general practitioners, as patients often have unrealistic expectations and demand immediate, comprehensive care. However, there are essential systems and protocols in place to guarantee equitable treatment across the NHS. The staff here work diligently to ensure these standards are maintained. Some of the malicious comments appear designed to deliberately undermine the staff's reputation, which ultimately reflects more poorly on the character of those writing such harmful statements than on the practice itself. Kudos to Beechwood for continuing to deliver high-quality care to those who need it most. With no negative findings from regulatory bodies like CQC or GMC, they should absolutely continue their excellent work!!!!

The nurse displayed a complete lack of compassion and professionalism. Despite our explanation about being slightly late and the critical need to immunize our baby daughter before traveling, with no alternative appointment slots available, she remained utterly indifferent and refused to accommodate us even briefly. In stark contrast, the receptionists were incredibly supportive and understanding. It's disappointing that such an uncaring attitude exists within a healthcare setting. Inefficient, unresponsive, and chaotic at best. I submitted paperwork for the Doctor to sign over a month ago, and it seemingly vanished into thin air. After weeks of silence, I started calling daily, and it took a full week before anyone would even answer. When someone finally did, they claimed ignorance about my documents, promising the receptionist would locate and process them promptly. A week later, I followed up only to discover absolutely zero progress - the forms remain unfound. This level of administrative incompetence is unacceptable, and I believe the Care Quality Commission should thoroughly examine this medical practice's operations.

Frustrating service with endless phone wait times

The quality of this establishment has seriously deteriorated lately. They're using covid as a convenient justification for everything. When you call, you're stuck listening to an automated message for nearly two minutes before even entering the queue. The preliminary recording is excessively lengthy and tedious. They should either streamline the introduction or eliminate it entirely. The slow-talking representative makes it challenging for anyone on a break or with limited phone credit to progress. Once you finally get through and attempt to schedule an appointment, they immediately redirect you to book online through patient access. (Which, by the way, hasn't functioned for me since September 2021) I simply want to arrange a doctor's consultation, and it seems my only viable option is to resort to visiting the accident and emergency department to receive any medical attention.

Frustrating app and gp receptionist nightmare

UPDATE: Contacted the GP on Tuesday to schedule a Thursday appointment. Repeatedly directed to use the app. I informed the receptionist that daily slots open at 8:30am and suggested trying Wednesday. Wednesday at 8:30am, I accessed the app to find only telephone bookings available. I made a booking, noting my need for an in-person consultation. Multiple call attempts throughout the day were unsuccessful. This morning (Thursday), I called to confirm my app booking and emphasize my requirement to see the doctor in person. A different receptionist explained that: a) the app is exclusively for telephone consultations, which wasn't communicated by Tuesday's staff, and patient access previously allowed in-person bookings b) the doctor might call within an hour of the scheduled time c) after reviewing my notes, the doctor would likely request an in-person meeting, but no such appointments were available until next week. Frustrating. This could have been prevented if Tuesday's receptionist had simply stated in-person appointments were unavailable via the app. The app has become a convenient excuse for delivering substandard service. The information provided is inconsistent and wastes time. While I understand a GP receptionist's job isn't simple, providing clear basic information shouldn't be this challenging. Strongly recommend avoiding this GP. I should have heeded my previous experience. PREVIOUS REVIEW This GP mandated booking through the patient access app. I used the app, specifying my appointment details. On the day, I was told the doctor couldn't see me and I needed a nurse. I highlighted that I had clearly specified my booking requirements, but was told the surgery doesn't review notes until the appointment day. I pointed out that it was the day of my appointment. The receptionist suggested a same-day booking in two hours, which was impossible given a) I was at work and b) I had booked a specific time due to limited availability. They insisted the doctor couldn't definitively see me and I would need to rebook with correct specifications, despite my detailed initial booking notes. The app is utterly useless if staff don't even review it. Completely wasted my time.
