The practice demonstrates predominantly positive feedback with strong clinical care and reception service quality emerging as consistent strengths. Patients frequently report prompt appointment access, efficient booking processes, and responsive digital communication, with many noting same-day or rapid appointment availability. Reception staff receive particular praise for professionalism, courtesy, and helpfulness, whilst clinical teams are commended for their expertise, compassion, and attentiveness to patient needs.
However, several service gaps persist across the patient experience. Appointment booking delays and triage system limitations continue to frustrate some patients, particularly those requiring urgent care. Prescription management issues, including medication continuity concerns and delayed processing, have been reported by multiple patients. Telephone access difficulties during peak hours and inconsistent staff courtesy from isolated team members represent additional concerns. Communication responsiveness gaps, particularly around proactive patient updates and follow-up, have been noted by some patients.
Recent feedback suggests positive momentum, with patients observing management involvement, improved facilities, and enhanced team training. The practice appears to be addressing previous service inconsistencies, though challenges around appointment booking systems, prescription handling, and telephone accessibility would benefit from continued attention to maintain the high standards patients expect from their clinical care experience.

Bad!
Phone lines constantly busy and unresponsive
The telephone service appears to be understaffed during midday hours. When calls are eventually answered, patients are immediately placed on hold rather than receiving prompt assistance.

one year agoThank you for bringing this to our attention, and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience you experienced. We have discussed this matter with our reception team and implemented measures to help prevent it from happening again in the future. Additionally, our telephone system includes a queue-busting ring-back feature, allowing patients to receive a call back instead of waiting for a long time for a receptionist to answer. We have also provided further training to our team to minimise the likelihood of similar incidents moving forward. Kind regards, Dr S Begg

Reception staff were dismissive and unhelpful
I had a negative experience with the reception staff member I encountered, who I found to be discourteous and lacking in understanding of my situation. The clinician I saw appeared unwilling to adapt their approach to accommodate my specific needs, adopting what felt like a rigid, inflexible stance. Additionally, I have concerns about the accuracy of the clinical notes that were subsequently produced, though I cannot determine whether any inaccuracies were deliberate or unintentional. Overall, I felt the interaction lacked the level of courtesy and consideration I would have expected.

2 years agoDear Saad, Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We are concerned to hear about your experience, as it does not reflect the high standard of care we strive to provide. We take all feedback seriously and would like to look into the issues you've raised. However, we have not been able to identify any medical records of a patient registered at our surgery associated with your name, as per the details provided. To help us better understand and address your concerns, we invite you to contact our practice manager directly at [email protected]. This will also allow us to maintain confidentiality and discuss your specific circumstances more privately. We have actively tried to ensure our receptionist and GP do not have the attitude of 'computer says no'. I have taken time to explain this to the reception team. Hence we are committed to improving our service and your feedback is invaluable in this process. If you could spend a few moments and send details of when this occured to [email protected]. My Practice Manger can take this matter forward. Thank you in advance for your time in this matter. Regards Dr S Begg GP Partner

Long wait for pharmacist review appointment
I have been quite disappointed with my experience so far. Following my house move, I needed to register with a new GP practice. I require a regular repeat prescription and was informed that a pharmacist review would be necessary, which I understood was appropriate. Despite attempting to schedule this review with adequate notice, I encountered significant delays in securing an appointment. When the appointment day arrived, I did not receive the expected call and instead got a text message informing me that it had been rescheduled for a week later. I contacted the surgery to explain that my medication supply would run out before then, but my concern was not addressed. I am still awaiting the rescheduled call. This has been frustrating as managing medication continuity is important, and interruptions to regular medication can result in unwanted effects, which I am currently dealing with.

one year agoDear Kristina, Firstly, I’d like to sincerely apologise for the delay in responding and, more importantly, for the experience you’ve described. I completely understand how worrying and frustrating it is to be left without the medication you rely on, and I’m really sorry we didn’t get things right at that time. Since that period, we’ve made a number of key changes to improve the way we manage medication reviews and repeat prescriptions. One of the biggest improvements is the introduction of a dedicated in-house pharmacy team. Their core focus is safe and timely prescribing, and they’re now able to support patients much more efficiently, even during periods of staff absence or unexpected demand. Our wider clinical team has also grown, which means we’ve been able to increase appointment availability and reduce delays, particularly around medication queries and reviews. Patient safety is always our top priority, and that includes making sure no one is left without vital medication. If you’re open to it, I’d be really happy to meet with you in person to show you the changes we’ve made since your review and talk through how we can better support you moving forward. Just contact the surgery and ask for the Practice Manager we’ll find a time that works. Thank you again for your feedback. It really does help us improve. Warm regards, Hassan Miah Practice Manager

Warm welcome at reception made the visit easier
I just wanted to let the management team know how refreshing the new receptionist is. What a professional, kind and well-spoken member of staff who helped me with a continuous smile on their face. Honestly so refreshing to be welcomed with such warmth when coming to the practice, which can often feel quite daunting. Hope to see you again. Also a big hello to the rest of the team.

Same day appointment for urgent chest issue
The clinician was excellent! I required an appointment today for a respiratory infection, and they were able to accommodate me promptly and provide the necessary medication. I was very pleased with this level of service, as it has been uncommon for me to receive such quick turnaround at GP practices I have attended previously.

Online booking system makes appointments hard to secure
I have been a loyal patient at this practice for many years and previously received excellent care, which is why I have remained registered despite relocating away from the area. Unfortunately, the appointment booking system has become increasingly problematic over recent years. I recently discovered that the practice now operates a triage system where patients submit a form describing their needs, and appointments are assigned without the ability to select preferred times or dates. This approach is quite inconvenient, as I would prefer to choose my own appointment slots online. When I attempt to book through the online system, the earliest available slot is typically two weeks away. Recently, my situation was flagged as requiring urgent attention within the triage system, and I was told I would receive a same-day callback. However, the call came through only moments before I could answer, and the connection was lost. I then spent over an hour attempting to reach reception without success. I subsequently received a message indicating I would need to wait until the following day. When I contacted reception to explain the urgency of my circumstances, staff assured me they would call back, but this did not happen. I find this situation deeply frustrating, as I am experiencing significant discomfort, struggling to manage daily activities, and have been unable to speak with anyone who can help. After eight years as a patient, I feel we have reached a difficult juncture. I am grateful for the quality of care I received previously and hope the practice can return to the standard of service it once provided.

one year agoDear Cemre, Thank you for your honest and heartfelt feedback. I’m genuinely sorry to hear about your recent experience, especially after being a loyal patient for so many years. That’s not the level of care we aim to provide, and I can understand how frustrating and distressing this must have felt, particularly when you're unwell and trying to get help. Since I joined the practice, I've been focused on making real, positive changes to improve access and the overall patient experience. We’ve introduced a wider range of appointment options including same day, 3-day, 7-day, and up to 4 weeks ahead, so patients have more flexibility to plan or be seen urgently. We’ve also grown our clinical team with more GPs, nurses, and healthcare assistants, and expanded the number of consultation rooms to meet demand. That means we’re now offering more face-to-face appointments than ever before. Our collaboration with the local neighbourhood network is also helping us build a more resilient and responsive service. Patient feedback like yours plays a huge role in shaping how we move forward. It's important to me that our patients feel heard, respected, and cared for, not just clinically, but through every point of contact. I also care deeply about our staff's wellbeing, because a supported team delivers better, safer care. If you're open to it, I’d be more than happy to meet in person and show you the changes we've made and the ones still to come. Whether you've left or are thinking about returning, the door is always open. Warm regards, Hassan Practice Manager
