Appointment booking nightmare with a glimmer of hope

I'm awarding two stars solely due to the appointment booking nightmare! Precisely at 1000hrs, I was ready online. By 1001hrs, only one slot remained. I selected it, filled out my reasons, and upon pressing next - poof! The appointment vanished! Unbelievable! The previous day, I'd spoken with a receptionist about my ongoing struggle to secure an appointment. She advised me to try at 10am, which I did exactly. This isn't a new experience for me - the appointment system is ridiculously inefficient. I find the lack of empathy from staff frustrating. When someone seeks a medical appointment, it's typically because they're unwell! The entire booking process is incredibly stressful and poorly designed. Despite these significant challenges, I remain with this practice because the doctors themselves are excellent. Once I actually get to see a physician, the care is top-notch. That's why I'm grudgingly giving two stars - one for each commendable doctor who makes this bureaucratic ordeal somewhat bearable. The booking system desperately needs an overhaul!

Frustrating medical centre with poor communication skills

Belmont Medical Centre: A Saga of Disorganization. After a consultation regarding a scalp growth, the GP requested that I bring documentation from a prior tumor removal procedure in Spain. I complied and delivered the notes to reception immediately after our consultation. Despite this, ten days later, the GP claimed he had not received the documents. I clarified that I had handed them over within minutes of our initial meeting. Subsequently, the GP informed me that he had scheduled a follow-up appointment. Upon arrival, I discovered that the reception had no record of this scheduled consultation. After enduring a frustrating wait exceeding 40 minutes, my tolerance was completely depleted. Thoroughly exasperated, I left the medical centre without receiving the intended follow-up, feeling utterly let down by their apparent administrative incompetence.

Disappointing decline of once great medical practice

It pains me to criticize what was once an exceptional medical practice, but recent years have been a constant struggle. Securing an appointment has become increasingly challenging, and when patients attempt to voice concerns, the practice manager dismisses them. There's a clear preference for quick, band-aid solutions rather than comprehensive care—prescribing long-term addictive medications without a withdrawal strategy and showing reluctance to refer to specialized services. Some physicians seem distressingly detached, with one even callously telling a suicidal patient, "Do you realize I have other patients?" While these issues aren't entirely the staff's fault (budget cuts and growing patient loads have certainly contributed), the impact on patients and their families is real and painful. I long for the days when this practice genuinely advocated for those in their care.

Horrible customer service ruins healthcare experience

The front desk staff are extremely discourteous and condescending. Their demeanor makes callers feel unwelcome and unwanted. They should seriously consider alternative employment. While I acknowledge they might be experiencing workplace stress or challenging circumstances, this does not excuse their behavior. Patients who are making a professional inquiry deserve basic courtesy and respect. Despite maintaining a polite and considerate tone during my interactions, the receptionists consistently respond with an unprofessional, cold, and unsympathetic attitude.
