Receptionist helpful, prescription sent quickly

Thank you to the clinician who saw my child today and promptly issued a prescription for their condition. They provided helpful advice on what to do and were lovely, kind, polite and supportive. This was our first visit and we wish this healthcare professional was our regular doctor. The receptionist was also very helpful. On the second day of medication, my daughter says the antibiotic is helping but she finds the taste unpleasant. Thanks to the clinician who saw her, she is slowly improving. We wish you were our regular healthcare provider.

I recently registered with this practice and I am genuinely impressed by the level of service and support provided during my family's recent healthcare needs. The care has exceeded my expectations and I'm delighted with the decision to join. The clinical staff are exceptionally compassionate and attentive, and the reception team go above and beyond to assist patients. I'm very grateful to the practice for restoring my confidence in general practice services. The appointment system is also efficient, with minimal waiting times. While GP surgeries often receive criticism, I have found nothing to complain about with this practice.

I've always had a positive experience with the medical staff at this practice. Even when face-to-face appointments aren't immediately available, I've received telephone consultations followed by in-person visits when needed. The nursing team provides excellent care, and the reception staff are consistently helpful and go the extra mile to resolve issues efficiently. The whole team creates a welcoming and supportive atmosphere.

Late Friday call left me worried and confused

I was contacted by a staff member I hadn't encountered before regarding test results. The call came very late on a Friday evening, just before closing time. I found the communication unhelpful as it lacked clarity about the purpose of the contact. I was left feeling anxious over the weekend without proper explanation. I would have preferred to speak with someone more familiar to me, and I feel the timing and nature of the communication could have been handled better. I would like to raise a formal concern about this experience.

It is disappointing to observe a significant deterioration in the standard and accessibility of services throughout my time as a patient at this practice. The focus appears to be directed more towards discouraging attendance rather than providing support. As a result, I have felt compelled to seek care elsewhere and have registered with an alternative surgery in the area.

Long queues and unhelpful reception staff experience

Disappointing overall, I'm afraid. I won't go into the well-documented telephone access difficulties. The in-person experience isn't significantly better either. Appointments consistently run behind schedule, and you should allow a full hour of your day as a buffer. The reception area frequently has a substantial queue of around 5-10 people waiting. Some members of the reception team appear unhelpful, either struggling to understand straightforward requests or seeming unwilling to assist. One younger team member, who may have been in a junior or training role, could benefit from developing their communication skills. During my interaction, they appeared dismissive each time I spoke, and it took over 5 minutes of explanation for what should have been a simple matter before they either indicated it couldn't be done or seemed unable to grasp the request. Only when another colleague was called over was the issue resolved relatively quickly. That said, one particular receptionist was exceptionally helpful and courteous.

Refused to help during urgent illness

I hadn't needed to attend for quite some time, but I developed a serious viral illness. As I was involved in a civic duty commitment, I needed documentation from the practice to explain my absence. I reached out to explain my circumstances while unwell, but was informed in an unhelpful manner that they were unable to provide this. As a result, I received no medical guidance and missed out on income for several days. The situation also left me feeling that my credibility had been questioned.

This practice has been disappointing on multiple occasions. Each visit results in being told that someone will contact me with results, yet weeks pass without any communication. Additionally, it takes an extremely long time to reach anyone by phone.
