Terrible phone service and zero customer support

Impossible to reach over the phone. I've been attempting to call all morning for some test results, but each time I'm placed in a queue where I'm first in line, yet after 15 minutes, no one has picked up. This has occurred more than three times today, meaning I've been waiting in a single-person queue for approximately 1 hour. There's no indication on Google Maps or their website that they're closed today, so I'm uncertain why I can't reach them. I've included a screenshot of today's calls (8), with none being answered. EDIT: The results line remains non-functional a month later. I called today to obtain new results and was informed it has been malfunctioning for some time. There's no notification about this anywhere on the practice's website or platform. EDIT 2: The practice claims all phone lines are operational, which is false. The test results line consistently plays an automated message stating it's closed and only open from 10am (this message plays throughout the day, even after 10am). I've never successfully connected to the medical secretary line. Additionally, a staff member acknowledged that not all lines function and they need to eliminate some options. I was advised to always press 1 for appointments as that line supposedly works. I previously emailed them when the line was down and received no response.

The dissatisfaction with Blackfriars Medical Practice continues to mount. Patients are confronting persistent problems including discourteous reception staff, unresponsive communication, referral delays, and a striking absence of professional care. These aren't trivial complaints, but symptoms of fundamental organizational dysfunction. It's evident that the practice is fundamentally failing patient expectations. Our community will not remain silent. Unless these concerns are immediately and transparently addressed, we will be compelled to escalate through official NHS channels or broader public awareness platforms. We actively encourage others experiencing similar challenges to come forward and share their narratives. The practice's management must be held accountable and take decisive action. Continued inaction will only invite increased scrutiny and demand for meaningful change. Today's incident definitively confirms this is potentially the worst GP practice in the city. During a call regarding my daughter's referral, the receptionist's conduct was shockingly unprofessional. She aggressively shouted, refused to listen, falsely accused me of raising my voice, and then impudently threatened me before abruptly terminating the call. This isn't an isolated incident, but part of a consistent pattern of disrespectful and dismissive staff interactions. Today's experience was particularly egregious. The practice demonstrates a systemic problem with staff attitude and professionalism. Patients fundamentally deserve dignified, compassionate treatment—a concept seemingly alien to their team. An official complaint is imminent. This recurring hostility and professional neglect is completely unacceptable. Management must critically examine their recruitment and staff training processes. I cannot recommend this practice to anyone. Their profound lack of respect, accountability, and basic professional standards represents a fundamental failure in healthcare service delivery. As a patient and parent, I expect—and demand—significantly better treatment. This is unquestionably the most problematic GP practice I've encountered. During an urgent health situation with high fever and significant pain, their response was unconscionable. Despite following their prescribed communication procedure and repeatedly signaling urgency, they remained completely unresponsive. I urge fellow patients experiencing similar mireatment to unite, document their experiences, and collectively demand accountability. Sharing genuine, detailed accounts might ultimately drive meaningful systemic change in patient care.

My son was released from hospital to Blackfriars Medical Practice following significant surgical intervention. Upon discharge, we were assured that the general practitioners would coordinate stitch removal and wound assessment. Disappointingly, no arrangements were made. When I visited the practice today, I was simply instructed to contact the district nurse independently. This experience epitomizes the complete lack of compassion within a fundamentally dysfunctional healthcare system.

Booking chaos ruins otherwise great medical practice

The medical staff are incredibly friendly, but the scheduling process is a complete disaster. Multiple instances have occurred where SMS confirmations were sent for my elderly parents' appointments, yet upon arrival, they were informed either the appointment was cancelled or no record existed. Despite claims of attempted contact, we never received any prior notifications and saw no missed calls. In one particularly frustrating incident, my father received a same-day SMS summoning him to an appointment, believing it was an early scheduling, only to discover upon arrival that it was an error. The booking system desperately needs a comprehensive review, and this current approach is absolutely unacceptable, especially for older patients!
