Patient feedback reveals significant challenges with appointment access and phone system functionality. Many patients report extended waiting times when calling, with frequent disconnections and long queues that make booking difficult, particularly for those with work commitments. Reception experience is mixed, with some patients describing staff as discourteous and dismissive, while others praise their helpfulness and professionalism. Communication barriers and accessibility issues are recurring concerns, with patients noting difficulty reaching the practice and frustration with same-day-only booking policies.
In contrast, clinical care receives consistent positive recognition. Patients frequently commend doctors and nursing staff for their competence, attentiveness, and compassionate approach during consultations and procedures. Vaccination services are highlighted as smoothly operated and well-coordinated. Several patients acknowledge that systemic pressures and high demand contribute to operational challenges, though this does not excuse service gaps.
The practice demonstrates capability in delivering quality medical care, but operational barriers significantly impact patient experience. Improvements to phone infrastructure, reception courtesy consistency, and appointment accessibility would address the most frequently cited frustrations while building on the foundation of clinical excellence that many patients value.

Bad!
Frustrating healthcare experience with terrible booking system
I'm eager to secure an appointment, but the current situation is frustrating. There's no online booking option available, and pre-booking is impossible. Getting through on the phone is a challenge, and if you do manage to enter the queuing system, you risk being disconnected. Should you successfully reach a representative, you're typically met with an indifferent and dismissive attitude. The receptionist will essentially inform you that obtaining an appointment is difficult, with their policy being same-day scheduling only. However, attempting to call at 8am becomes problematic when you're responsible for dropping children at school and getting to work. Even prior to the pandemic, the experience was remarkably similar, with the sole difference being the previous ability to pre-book appointments.

Average!
Disappointing service with minimal effort
Encountered a few hiccups with their service that were somewhat frustrating. While not a complete disaster, there were definitely some areas that could use improvement in their customer support and overall operational approach.

Terrible healthcare experience with unhelpful staff
Utterly dreadful!! Recently relocated to this area and battling intense emotional distress following a deeply traumatic incident. I dedicated three consecutive mornings attempting to secure a medical consultation!! I dialed the practice 178 times in a single morning just to establish a connection, then endured a grueling 90-minute wait only to be unceremoniously disconnected. This medical facility is fundamentally letting patients down, and as a result, I've subsequently transferred my healthcare to another practice.

Terrible healthcare failing vulnerable patients desperately
I am utterly dismayed and profoundly worried about this healthcare provider. Following the tragic loss of his partner, my father is in a fragile emotional state and has been completely unable to obtain any meaningful assistance from Blackwater Medical Centre. We have exhausted countless hours attempting to reach someone by phone, enduring endless waiting periods, yet achieving absolutely nothing. As a mental health professional within the NHS, I am acutely aware that patients must be able to connect with their general practitioners for critical medication management and risk assessments. This situation is entirely unacceptable and represents a clear and dangerous breach of professional medical standards. The numerous complaints and negative reviews on this platform - some dating back three years - demand immediate recognition and action.

Terrible customer service that hurts vulnerable patients
I spent sixty minutes waiting to connect with a front desk representative, which would have been completely unmanageable for my aging father. This prolonged wait renders the service fundamentally inaccessible to older individuals and those with serious health challenges.

Worst customer service ever wasting my precious time
You'd have better luck consulting a shaman, as you'll likely be six feet under before breaking through their perpetually congested phone lines!!!! I've hammered the redial button a staggering 9000 times since 8 AM, and it's now 8:23 with zero progress.

Frustrating phone system wastes customer time
Let me start by noting that the front desk staff have always been courteous (I believe it depends on how you interact with them). However, the phone system is absolutely terrible. I've repeatedly been left waiting for over an hour, only to have the call disconnected multiple times. Just a fortnight ago, I was on hold for one and three-quarter hours, simply to arrange a pharmacist callback. These prolonged waits are financially draining, as I'm being charged for daytime calls. Blackwater desperately needs to upgrade their telephone infrastructure.

Worst medical service i've ever experienced
The overall experience at this medical practice is thoroughly disappointing. The entire establishment operates with an unacceptable attitude that borders on contempt. Personnel across all departments, even in the pharmacy, consistently demonstrate an appalling lack of professionalism and courtesy. Their appointment scheduling process is abysmal, and there appears to be complete indifference to these glaring issues. In a competitive commercial environment, such chronic mismanagement would have undoubtedly resulted in business failure long ago.

Terrible service and unhelpful medical reception staff
I rang the medical practice at 8am this morning, enduring the typical hour-long wait only to be disconnected, forcing me to contact 111 instead. Recent interactions with the surgery and its staff have been increasingly frustrating, leading me to decide to change healthcare providers. While I recognize the practice is busy, when you finally manage to connect, you're abruptly told there are no available appointments and to try again tomorrow. The receptionists are shockingly blunt and lack any compassion. Their attitude is consistently unhelpful, with comments like "I've been talking to you for 5 minutes and have a queue of people waiting" being typical. It's disgraceful treatment. I wouldn't be calling if my medical concern wasn't genuinely important and requiring attention.

Great!
Caring staff but some receptionists need improvement
I've been a patient here for more than a quarter-century. The staff genuinely try their utmost to secure an appointment when necessary. I acknowledge there aren't sufficient doctors for the patient population, but this stems from local area growth, with numerous new housing developments and an influx of residents. The receptionists should NOT be blamed for this systemic issue!! Nevertheless, some front desk staff can be extremely discourteous, and I find it unacceptable that I'm expected to disclose personal medical details to office personnel. Surely professional medical training is required to properly assess and prioritize patient needs?

Frustrating customer service and closed phone lines
I tried calling shortly before 8 to avoid the long wait, but incredibly, the phone lines were already shut down! They finally activated the phones just past 8, and I was left on hold for a full 10 minutes, only to discover they won't actually start taking calls until 8:30. What an absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional approach to customer service!!!!!

Worst customer service experience of my miserable life
The staff here seem to be competing in a contest to see who can be the most unpleasant, dismissive, and threatening member of this incompetent team. The system is fundamentally flawed, with employees who are visibly miserable and dripping with sarcasm. It's only my dire situation that forces me to interact with their toxicity once or twice annually, which is already two times too many. I absolutely despise this place. * When a 'receptionist' takes over an hour to answer the phone for a line of 16 people, solely to announce that no appointments are available, it's hard not to conclude they have zero interest in providing decent service.

Nightmare healthcare with unhelpful staff and terrible service
What an awful medical center, it's impossible to secure a consultation, calls get abruptly terminated, the front desk staff are discourteous, and certain physicians appear completely indifferent. After recently switching healthcare providers, I'm astounded by the contrast! I absolutely cannot endorse this medical practice!

Terrible receptionist ruins an otherwise great medical practice
The receptionist at this medical office is an absolute embarrassment. Her demeanor is hostile, devoid of compassion, deliberately unhelpful, and dismissive. Despite her unprofessional conduct, I must acknowledge that throughout my three-decade association with this practice, the doctors and nursing staff have consistently provided outstanding medical care.

Bad!
Worst medical reception ever terrible service
The front desk staff display an appalling lack of professionalism. They seem completely indifferent to the critical nature of healthcare access, consistently failing to provide timely appointments despite the growing population. It's unacceptable that patients are made to feel like an inconvenience when simply trying to schedule essential medical consultations. Their current phone system is archaic and ineffective, and the receptionists, particularly the older woman who has long overstayed her welcome, demonstrate a shocking disregard for basic customer service. These individuals appear to have forgotten that they are dealing with people's health and wellbeing, not mere administrative tasks. The practice urgently needs to overhaul its reception team, implementing staff who understand the importance of compassion and respect in a healthcare setting.

Caring doctors overshadowed by terrible front desk staff
While some of the medical professionals at this practice are genuinely compassionate, the front desk personnel often come across as abrupt and discourteous. Attempting to schedule an appointment or even connecting via telephone is an incredibly frustrating experience 😠

Worst medical experience ever terrible customer service
Completely ridiculous medical procedure! Every single morning at precisely 8am, I'm stuck on hold for more than 60 minutes just to become the first caller in line, only to be informed by the utterly unhelpful front desk personnel that no appointments are available!! It's infuriating how they string patients along with false hope, and the staff demonstrates zero willingness to assist or provide any meaningful support!

Terrible service from rude and unprofessional receptionist
The encounter with the receptionist today was utterly appalling. Their behavior was so unprofessional and condescending that even my dog would display more courtesy. I am seriously considering switching medical practices. My husband has been with Longfield and has never experienced such disrespect. It's ironic that they have a sign claiming zero tolerance for rudeness when their staff clearly fails to practice what they preach!! GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND LEARN BASIC HUMAN DECENCY!!

Bad!
Worst medical service ever terrible experience
The service is utterly appalling. Anyone with a full-time job or a school-going child is effectively blocked from getting an appointment. We only attempt to book when absolutely necessary, yet even urgent needs are met with total unavailability. Staff are dismissive and unhelpful, often responding rudely when patients explain their challenges. Recently, I wasted 40 minutes on hold just to be told no appointments were available and to try again the next day. Today, while attempting to collect a repeat prescription, I was informed I need a review first. When I tried scheduling an appointment, nothing was open during half-term or outside my work hours. Upon explaining my difficult work situation, a receptionist smugly mentioned her daughter manages similar work around doctor's schedules - a comment that did nothing but increase my frustration. The entire experience is completely unacceptable.
