Undoubtedly the most disappointing medical practice I've encountered - the deputy manager was incredibly discourteous, forcing me to disclose sensitive medical information in the public reception area and blocking my access to the doctor. It's unfortunate because the remaining staff were consistently courteous and the nursing team was outstanding. This wasn't a one-off occurrence, as my partner similarly experienced being compelled to discuss confidential health matters in the reception's open space via telephone, with another medical service refusing to provide a private consultation room. I strongly recommend steering clear of this practice if maintaining personal privacy and receiving patient-centered care are important to you, as they demonstrably show little concern for patient dignity and confidentiality.

Medical Discrimination & Punitive Action for Being Trans

I was removed from the practice after raising concerns related to my gender identity and was directed elsewhere, despite having been under NHS care for some time following a move from abroad. No clear explanation was provided for this decision, and support that I had previously received was not continued. I also felt that my past records were altered, as earlier information about my treatment no longer appeared. When I asked for a face-to-face appointment to discuss the situation, my requests were not addressed directly and were instead passed to other staff who were unable to explain what had happened. I was then accused of inappropriate behaviour and removed from the patient list again. Overall, I found the experience upsetting and felt I was treated unfairly, particularly as someone from the LGBTQ community.

Dr. Hakeem terminated my patient status due to my transgender identity, insisting I seek treatment at a gender identity clinic, despite having received consistent NHS medication for years after transitioning and relocating from Ireland. Not only did he refuse to provide medical reasoning for his decision or continue my bridging prescription, but he also manipulated my previous prescription records, completely erasing any documentation of my prior Nebido prescriptions. When I sought a direct, in-person meeting to address his failure to provide appropriate care, he repeatedly delegated communication to his staff, who were clearly unable to justify his unprofessional conduct. Eventually, he accused me of harassment and again removed me from his patient list, seemingly solely because of my transgender status. This represents an absolutely unacceptable display of discriminatory and unethical medical practice. LGBTQ individuals should exercise extreme caution when considering treatment from this healthcare provider.

Despite arriving just 3 minutes past my scheduled time and waiting patiently in the reception area for up to 6 minutes right in front of the staff, who were seemingly preoccupied with their computers and phone calls, I was abruptly told to reschedule my appointment. My child is dealing with critical health concerns, and Doctor Hakim was in a meeting during our designated appointment slot, subsequently refusing to see my child. His time management is extremely poor, and it's unacceptable that appointment and meeting times are allowed to conflict. This GP surgery is chaotically disorganized and lacks all semblance of professionalism. Patients can expect to waste 30-40 minutes waiting, only to have a brief 2-minute consultation, and heaven forbid you arrive a mere 3 minutes late - you'll be summarily dismissed without care.

When I arrived in person, the reception area was filled with staff members engrossed in casual conversations, with some simply lounging around. After carefully observing the situation, I spoke with a staff member named Shannon, who was incredibly unprofessional and dismissive. I explained my son's critical health concern - he has experienced four breathing cessation episodes in a month - but she callously suggested merely giving him water and conducting a self-examination, refusing to recommend a doctor's consultation. My attempts to speak with Dr. Hakeem were futile, and I'm convinced he would have been more responsive to another patient. When I called last Friday, they claimed no appointments were available and repeated the same unhelpful advice. Absolutely not recommended, and a complete disappointment in patient care. 😕

Dr. T.A. Hakeem and his entire reception staff are deliberately avoiding scheduling appointments and blatantly, vocally declining to see patients. I attempted to book an appointment for five consecutive days without success. Since this morning, I've been trying to call, but the line remains on automated transmission, and no one answers. Their treatment of patients is so dehumanizing, it's as if they're interacting with animals rather than people. Their arrogant demeanor towards patients is completely unacceptable. Despite numerous complaints, no corrective action has been taken, and they continue their unprofessional behavior with remarkable audacity. The reception staff consistently appear more engaged in casual conversations or mobile phone use than attending to patient needs. I am formally submitting a complaint to higher authorities and will await their response to investigate this unacceptable conduct.
