I would not recommend this GP surgery based on my experience. I felt that my concerns were not handled appropriately. I was prescribed medication that included an ingredient I have an allergy to. When I contacted the surgery to raise this issue, I was informed that an appointment would not be available for a considerable time. I found the reception staff to be unhelpful and felt that their manner was dismissive. I also observed interactions with other patients that I found concerning. Forced to pay privately after refusing necessary tests
I feel let down by my experience with this practice. I found myself having to pay considerable amounts out of pocket and attend private facilities for several types of examinations that the practice was unable or unwilling to arrange for me. When I reached out to them again seeking assistance, they indicated that in their view, I did not require these tests and that they were unable to provide them. Yet they stated they would be willing to review results obtained privately if I chose to fund them myself… I find this frustrating… Every time I have booked an appointment, I have faced waiting periods of at least seven days, and when appointments are unavailable, they propose telephone consultations instead, as though patients have unlimited free time and are simply ringing for casual conversation, despite having significant health concerns that require prompt attention and cannot be adequately addressed remotely…

Extremely Disappointed with GP Service In December 2024, my husband experienced an ear infection, elevated blood pressure, and a skin condition. Following three visits to the GP within a month, rather than receiving a specialist referral, he was offered a telephone consultation, which felt inadequate given the circumstances. We ultimately decided to pursue treatment at a private clinic, where his issues were identified and addressed promptly. We felt this should have been resolved through the NHS from the outset. Additionally, when I attended with my test results relating to a thyroid condition, I was informed that further assessment was necessary. The subsequent testing appeared limited in scope, and I felt that a more comprehensive approach to thyroid evaluation would have been beneficial. As a result, I have needed to arrange and pay for additional private testing that I believe should have been conducted initially. The experience left me feeling that the standard of care provided fell short of expectations, particularly regarding referral pathways and the thoroughness of diagnostic investigations. I felt frustrated by what seemed like barriers to accessing appropriate treatment and felt compelled to seek private healthcare to address my concerns. I believe patients should receive comprehensive care through the NHS without needing to pursue alternative options.

Reception staff ignored urgent appointment requests over phone
I had an extremely negative experience with the reception staff at this health service. The team at the front desk were incredibly rude and consistently disregarded my requests for assistance over the phone. When I urgently requested an appointment for my young child, who was experiencing significant health concerns, I was told I would have to wait a week. This was unacceptable given the seriousness of my child's condition at that time. One of the clinical staff members was kind and attentive, but the reception team appears to provide very few appointments, as though they overlook the urgency of patients' situations. When I indicated that I would lodge a complaint about their conduct, they simply ended the call in a discourteous manner. If you have children, I would strongly advise against registering at this practice. The team demonstrated what felt like a concerning lack of responsiveness to urgent health matters. It is worrying to consider that serious health issues affecting children might be treated with similar disregard. I would recommend considering an alternative practice, even if it means traveling somewhat farther to access it.

I experienced considerable frustration when attempting to book an appointment during a previous pregnancy, as I was repeatedly told the practice could not accommodate my needs. This resulted in a three-week wait for an appointment, during which time my condition was later identified as requiring urgent attention. The same problematic appointment booking experience continues to occur.
