Impossible to book appointments within reasonable timeframe

I have had a very disappointing experience trying to access appointments at this practice. I would genuinely like to understand how others manage to secure an appointment within a reasonable timeframe, as I have spent several weeks attempting to book one without success. It appears that the system requires patients to anticipate future healthcare needs rather than respond to current ones. Additionally, I have concerns about privacy, as discussing medical matters with reception staff before speaking with a clinician feels like it compromises the confidentiality that should exist in healthcare relationships. I was previously advised that online booking would be the most straightforward method, yet when I attempted this, no slots were available. When I contacted the practice directly for assistance, the earliest appointment offered was considerably far in the future. The reviews visible on the website appear to be quite dated. Based on conversations with others in the local area, I suspect this booking difficulty is not an isolated issue. The whole situation has been quite frustrating and concerning.

Dispensary came through on a Saturday

I was very grateful to the pharmacy for supplying my prescription on a Saturday. I had placed an order for my medication and it was prepared at the usual location, but I mistakenly believed I had more time remaining before I would need it. Unfortunately, I realised too late that I couldn't collect it from there as it wasn't open that day. The pharmacy staff provided excellent service in helping me out.

It's concerning that non-clinical staff have access to detailed medical histories and hospital records, then use this information to make decisions about treatment options and referrals. This responsibility seems to fall outside their training and expertise, and the practice of allowing unqualified personnel to make such judgments feels problematic and potentially unsafe. These concerns warrant further investigation.

Generally a satisfactory service, though it has become progressively more challenging to reach someone or connect with the practice by telephone. This morning involved multiple attempts to get through, each resulting in extended waiting periods. I recognise that the practice experiences high demand and that Monday mornings in particular tend to be busy times, but if this level of congestion occurs consistently on that day of the week, it seems there may be an opportunity to consider whether additional reception capacity during peak times could help improve accessibility.

After spending years travelling, the clinician at this practice was the only healthcare professional who identified the underlying reasons for my partner's health difficulties. A thorough practitioner who investigated thoroughly until discovering what was causing the problem. Now we are able to manage the condition effectively. Regarding my own care, I am very grateful to another clinician here for their persistence and compassion in addressing my personal health concerns.
