Appointment access presents the most significant challenge for patients at this practice, with the same-day booking system creating substantial barriers particularly for working individuals. Multiple patients report difficulty reaching the practice by telephone, with calls frequently going unanswered or resulting in lengthy waits, and reception staff interactions are frequently described as unhelpful or dismissive. Medication supply gaps and communication failures regarding prescriptions and follow-up care have caused concern, with some patients experiencing delays in receiving essential medications.
When clinical consultations do take place, patients consistently report positive experiences with professional care quality, genuine empathy, and attentive listening from clinical staff. However, this strength is significantly undermined by the access difficulties that prevent many patients from reaching appointments in the first place. The practice would benefit from reviewing its appointment scheduling system to allow advance bookings and improving telephone accessibility and reception responsiveness.
A minority of patients report positive experiences with appointment access and reception support, noting helpfulness and compassion from staff. These contrasting experiences suggest inconsistency in service delivery, with some patients successfully navigating the system while others encounter repeated obstacles that have led them to seek alternative healthcare provision.

Persistent phone lines need improvement
After attempting numerous calls with the phone line consistently unavailable, I remain hopeful about reaching the practice. I believe we can work towards improving this situation together.

Reception staff dismissive when calling for help
This practice has been disappointing to deal with. The staff members do not seem to pay attention to what patients are trying to communicate. The reception team appeared unhelpful and dismissive when I contacted them by phone.

Poor communication left me without medication for days
I would advise caution when choosing this practice. As a long-standing patient, I have noticed a significant decline in the standard of care. During my recent visit, I felt let down by a lack of communication regarding a necessary medication review, despite the practice having my contact details on file. This resulted in a gap in my medication supply lasting over a week. I believe the practice does not adequately prioritise mental health concerns and relies too heavily on waiting lists without appropriate follow-up contact. Based on this experience, I am actively seeking alternative healthcare provision.

Booking system needs a complete overhaul
The appointment booking process is extremely frustrating. It requires significant time and effort to secure a slot, as availability is very limited and appointments must be taken at whatever time the practice offers, regardless of personal circumstances or work commitments.

Impossible to book appointments with same-day system
Unfortunately, I have recently had to switch to a different practice because I was consistently unable to secure appointments. The booking system only permits same-day reservations, requiring callers to phone at 8:00am on the morning they wish to attend. By the time you successfully navigate through the queue or overcome repeated engaged signals, the available slots for that day have already been taken. For someone working extended hours, obtaining an appointment is extremely challenging unless it is a genuine emergency, and even in those circumstances, attending an urgent care centre sometimes seems like the more practical option. The clinical staff are excellent (assuming you manage to get an appointment), but the limitations of the current appointment system mean I am no longer able to continue with this practice. I believe it is unreasonable to expect working individuals to call at 8am to book a slot and then have to notify their employer that same morning about a potential late arrival. If advance booking were possible even just one or two days ahead, the practice would be significantly improved.

Impossible to book appointments through phone lines
My daughter has been attempting to book an appointment for her young child for over a week by calling first thing in the morning, but no slots have been available. It seems particularly concerning given that this is for a child. Throughout my time as a patient at this practice, spanning several decades, the most effective approach they've implemented was the open surgery system that began at mid-morning. The practice would benefit from reconsidering their current appointment arrangements, as patients are becoming increasingly dissatisfied with how the system is operating.
