I would advise caution when choosing this practice. As a long-standing patient, I have noticed a significant decline in the standard of care. During my recent visit, I felt let down by a lack of communication regarding a necessary medication review, despite the practice having my contact details on file. This resulted in a gap in my medication supply lasting over a week. I believe the practice does not adequately prioritise mental health concerns and relies too heavily on waiting lists without appropriate follow-up contact. Based on this experience, I am actively seeking alternative healthcare provision.

The appointment booking process is extremely frustrating. It requires significant time and effort to secure a slot, as availability is very limited and appointments must be taken at whatever time the practice offers, regardless of personal circumstances or work commitments.

Impossible to book appointments with same-day system

Unfortunately, I have recently had to switch to a different practice because I was consistently unable to secure appointments. The booking system only permits same-day reservations, requiring callers to phone at 8:00am on the morning they wish to attend. By the time you successfully navigate through the queue or overcome repeated engaged signals, the available slots for that day have already been taken. For someone working extended hours, obtaining an appointment is extremely challenging unless it is a genuine emergency, and even in those circumstances, attending an urgent care centre sometimes seems like the more practical option. The clinical staff are excellent (assuming you manage to get an appointment), but the limitations of the current appointment system mean I am no longer able to continue with this practice. I believe it is unreasonable to expect working individuals to call at 8am to book a slot and then have to notify their employer that same morning about a potential late arrival. If advance booking were possible even just one or two days ahead, the practice would be significantly improved.

Impossible to book appointments through phone lines

My daughter has been attempting to book an appointment for her young child for over a week by calling first thing in the morning, but no slots have been available. It seems particularly concerning given that this is for a child. Throughout my time as a patient at this practice, spanning several decades, the most effective approach they've implemented was the open surgery system that began at mid-morning. The practice would benefit from reconsidering their current appointment arrangements, as patients are becoming increasingly dissatisfied with how the system is operating.
