Patient Experience Summary

Feedback reveals a practice significantly challenged by appointment access and booking system difficulties. Patients consistently report unresponsive phone lines, lengthy waiting times to reach staff, and a restrictive same-day appointment policy that creates frustration, particularly for those unable to call at 8:30 AM. Reception experience is mixed, with some staff praised for courtesy and helpfulness whilst others are described as dismissive or unhelpful. Prescription handling issues and delayed care have been noted across multiple reviews.

In contrast, clinical care receives considerable positive feedback. Medical professionals, nursing staff, and allied health practitioners are frequently described as compassionate, attentive, and thorough in their examinations and communication. Patients report feeling heard and reassured during consultations, with several highlighting exceptional support from specific team members. The practice's callback system and walk-in clinic for minor concerns are appreciated by those who have accessed them.

The overall picture reflects organisational dysfunction centred on access and administration rather than the quality of care delivered once patients reach clinical staff. Systemic improvements to appointment availability, phone responsiveness, and booking processes would likely address the majority of concerns raised across the feedback.

Frustrating and impossible medical booking nightmare

Booking an appointment here is a nightmare. You're lucky to secure a slot on the same day, and that's only after endlessly dialing and waiting on hold for ages. Even then, the sole available time is invariably inconvenient. No other professional service could survive with such a dysfunctional scheduling system.

Endless waiting and frustration with no resolution

Been hanging on the phone for four consecutive days, only to be repeatedly informed that no appointments are available and to try again the next day. Called at 8:35 a.m. and was told I'm 20th in line. With a full-time job, I can't afford to waste hours daily making these calls. The service is absolutely abysmal.

Terrible medical practice with dangerous doctors

I was a patient at this practice a couple of years back. Without doubt, it's the most abysmal medical facility I've ever encountered. During my seven-year tenure, every consultation involved questioning about a condition I never had. Blood tests were never suggested unless I specifically requested them. The care was utterly worthless - having no doctor would have been preferable. My overall impression is that the medical staff were poorly educated and completely disconnected from contemporary medical practices. In fact, several physicians were so incompetent that they should be prohibited from practicing medicine due to the potential risk to patients. The additional complication is that this is Bridgnorth's sole medical practice, making it extremely challenging to transfer to another facility. As a Bridgnorth resident, I now must travel to the opposite side of Telford just to find a practice willing to accept me as a patient. This isn't my preferred option, but since Bridgnorth Medical Practice has monopolized local healthcare, patients are left with absolutely no alternatives. Such a situation is unprecedented in other towns within the district.

Frustrating medical experience with zero patient care

I'm tempted to elaborate on the absurd scheduling issues, but I'll save that for another time. AVOID BOOKING A BLOOD TEST ONLINE, as my daughter learned the hard way. She cleared her work schedule for a pre-booked appointment after struggling to secure a doctor's slot for months, only to be informed they no longer provide that service and she must schedule with a doctor - returning to the seemingly impossible task of getting an appointment. It's astonishing that anyone in Bridgnorth remains healthy, given how challenging it is to actually see a medical professional, regardless of how sick you are. YOU HAVE A LEGAL OBLIGATION TO PROVIDE CARE FOR EVERY REGISTERED PATIENT, and with a dismal 2.3 rating, you're falling drastically short of that responsibility.

Mixed feelings about local doctor's surgery

After carefully reviewing all the feedback, I find my personal experience quite different from the negative comments. The staff consistently demonstrate care, and I've never struggled to secure a doctor's appointment when necessary. However, I do have two concerns, partly in support of the practice's challenges. The continuous housing development is overwhelming - we're inundated with increasing population, traffic congestion, and insufficient infrastructure to support these additional residents. How can this medical center possibly manage such expansion? Moreover, I consistently encounter different doctors during my visits, which disrupts patient continuity. Understanding a patient's comprehensive history, family dynamics, and emotional experiences is crucial in recognizing that many illnesses stem from stress and personal challenges. Unfortunately, current constraints prevent doctors from developing this deeper understanding. I'd like to propose a practical improvement. Recently, I experienced extreme frustration attempting to book an appointment - 114 unsuccessful phone calls! When I visited in person, I discovered the restrictive same-day booking policy. I suggest implementing a more user-friendly queuing system where patients can request a callback when approaching the front of the queue. This approach would be significantly more equitable, particularly for those unable to physically visit the surgery.

Frustrating healthcare that leaves me completely hopeless

Medical staff here are incredibly frustrating. It's nearly impossible to schedule an appointment or get anyone to actually listen and help you. I'm convinced this might be the most incompetent healthcare facility around.

Terrible healthcare service beyond comprehension

The medical practice is absolutely horrendous - for 6 weeks my partner has been attempting to secure an antibiotic prescription for a severe ear infection, which an audiologist has already diagnosed, and every single time he's essentially instructed to come back the following day. You would assume that after 6 weeks there would be some protocol ensuring mandatory appointments, but no, it's the same frustrating cycle over and over. I've resided in this area for 17 years now and have never encountered a single positive comment about this practice - something desperately needs to change.

Frustrating prescription service at local medical practice

Since moving to this area, I've consistently struggled with getting my repeat prescription correctly processed, always requiring an in-person visit to the surgery to resolve issues. Unlike my previous medical practice, where everything ran smoothly, I'm now experiencing ongoing difficulties with medication management that never happened before.

Frustrating phone wait for medical appointment service

It would be incredibly beneficial if we weren't stuck on hold for nearly an hour every time we try to schedule an appointment for the Highley surgical center now managed by Bridgnorth. There's no option to book in person, forcing patients to endure these extensive wait times. This was never the case in the past. Isn't it time for some improvements to be made?

Frustrating healthcare experience with unhelpful staff

Attempting to schedule a same-day appointment involves a chaotic morning rush, with everyone frantically calling at 8:30 AM, only to find slots vanish by 8:35. You're then left with no choice but to try again the following day. The medical staff appear disinterested and some demonstrate a shockingly unprofessional attitude. While a few reception employees are courteous and supportive, others are remarkably unhelpful. The entire system is utterly disorganized and dysfunctional.

Negligent care led to dangerous health consequences

(CALLOUS TREATMENT) I tried to convey the gravity of my grandmother's deteriorating condition to the doctor, but they dispatched a nurse who was reluctant to prescribe antibiotics for her worsening cellulitis, and I couldn't remain to press the issue. Consequently, two days later, she was hospitalized in critical condition, as it appears contemporary medical care here lacks compassion and seems intent on hastening patients towards their end. You must be assertive when dealing with such healthcare providers; my own family disregarded my counsel and I'm unconvinced they truly wanted her to receive the necessary antibiotics. A deeply distressing scenario.

Miraculous relief from nerve pain in 24 hours

Since late January, I've been battling intense neck discomfort and nerve-related symptoms radiating down my right shoulder, arm, and hand. After consulting my physician, I was directed to their physiotherapist, Carissa Jones, and I'm absolutely thrilled with her care. From the moment I met her, she was incredibly attentive and professional. She carefully listened to my concerns, conducted a thorough examination, and clearly explained that I'm dealing with an irritated nerve root. Not only did she demonstrate helpful exercises during our session, but she also followed up by sending a comprehensive digital exercise program that I can easily access on my smartphone. Despite having only practiced these exercises for about a day, I'm already experiencing significant relief. The improvement is remarkable, and I'm incredibly grateful for her expertise and support. Carissa has been an absolute lifesaver!

Terrible medical service that failed me completely

Terrible service. In the past quarter, prescription errors have occurred twice, with refusals for medications crucial to my complete recovery and return to work after life-saving emergency surgery. I'm convinced that if the doctor were in my position, these prescriptions would be promptly issued. The doctor even sent a text message to deny one request, without the basic decency to call me directly. It's virtually impossible to have an in-person consultation, while other essential workers are expected to fully resume their duties. The telephone system is marginally improved with callback options, but heaven help you if you happen to be in the bathroom when they ring. If I could switch medical practices, I absolutely would!
