Patient feedback reflects a mixed experience at this medical practice, with notable contrasts between clinical care and operational service. Many patients praise the compassionate approach and professional expertise of medical staff, describing welcoming environments and responsive communication from doctors and nurses. The digital booking system and eConsult service receive positive mentions for efficiency, with some patients securing appointments within hours. However, significant concerns emerge around appointment access, with recurring reports of difficulty reaching the practice by phone, long waiting times for consultations, and challenges booking future appointments. Reception experience varies considerably, with some patients noting courteous and helpful staff while others report discourteous interactions and dismissive attitudes. Prescription processing delays and poor follow-up on test results appear as persistent issues. Several patients describe rushed consultations and feeling that their concerns were not adequately addressed, whilst others highlight excellent continuity of care and genuine clinical attention. The practice appears to operate with variable consistency across different service areas and staff members.
Patients who experienced acute medical needs through the eConsult system or walk-in services often report positive outcomes with prompt clinical response. Conversely, those attempting routine appointment scheduling or seeking prescription support frequently encounter frustration with administrative processes. Some long-term patients express disappointment at perceived decline in service standards since the pandemic, noting that appointment availability has become particularly challenging despite previously straightforward booking experiences. A subset of reviews raises concerns about diagnostic thoroughness and responsiveness to urgent medical needs, with a small number describing serious consequences from delayed or inadequate care.

Exceptional care and support at broadwater medical center
I'm thoroughly delighted with Broadwater Medical Center after moving my care from Victoria Road Surgery (which was completely ineffective). The staff have been instrumental in my diagnostic process and have maintained excellent communication, keeping me well-informed throughout. A special shout-out to Susie, who has been incredibly kind and helpful during my interactions with the clinic!

Slow service with questionable medical advice
The eConsult process was lengthy, spanning over a week. After completion, receiving feedback took several days, followed by blood tests and a doctor's appointment, each adding more waiting time. While not entirely unsatisfactory, the experience was far from efficient. We clearly communicated our symptoms and suspected causes, specifically pointing to potential iron and magnesium deficiencies. Surprisingly, despite conducting a blood test, the lab failed to check magnesium or iron levels. The physician's recommendations seemed arbitrary: suggesting temporary iron supplements without verifying actual iron levels, and proposing long-term Vitamin D supplementation without conducting any baseline tests or demonstrating a genuine deficiency. Essentially, the entire process felt like medical guesswork, seemingly motivated more by cost-cutting than thorough diagnostic investigation.

Terrible healthcare experience with impossible booking system
Absolutely appalling customer support. I've been attempting to secure an appointment since the holiday season, but their online consultation system consistently closes just moments after it's meant to be accessible. When trying to call, I'm met with an endless loop of automated responses that ultimately disconnect the call.

Terrible gp service left my son suffering needlessly
My young son exhibited signs of a potential urinary tract infection. After consulting 111 the previous evening, they suggested submitting a urine sample and scheduling an appointment. I delivered the sample at 9 am, yet received no follow-up throughout the entire day. I visited the clinic three times between 9 am and 6 pm (their closing time), and was repeatedly instructed to book an online appointment, despite it becoming increasingly clear that my 8-year-old urgently required antibiotics. Instead of addressing the issue promptly at his GP, they directed me to the A&E, where we waited three hours for a urine sample and antibiotic prescription. The entire consultation lasted barely 10 minutes, including the test and prescription. The service was shockingly inadequate, demonstrating complete lack of care and empathy. I sincerely hope their own children never experience such treatment. I'm left questioning the purpose of my tax contributions and the competence of those determining medical priorities. Ironically, I'm simultaneously bombarded with text messages about daily blood pressure checks, and while they recommend loaning a blood pressure machine, they refuse due to a supposed 'waiting list'. I understand budget constraints might contribute to this situation, but the inconsistent communication and endless correspondence seem utterly nonsensical.

Terrible service from rude receptionist Elizabeth
I attempted to schedule an appointment today, but the receptionist, Elizabeth, was extremely discourteous and spoke to me in an aggressive manner. I'm astonished that such an unprofessional individual is employed at this medical facility. The staff should prioritize being helpful and courteous, unlike Elizabeth, who demonstrated a complete lack of customer service skills.

Absolutely appalling service. Completely passive and unengaged. They never follow up on test outcomes. Everything relies on patient initiative. Utterly inadequate.

Negligent care nearly cost my husband his life
My spouse experienced persistent headaches for a fortnight and finally secured a medical consultation, where they suggested a potential tooth infection. Prescribed penicillin caused adverse reactions, prompting him to discontinue the medication. After another two weeks—now at week four with ongoing head pain—he contacted the clinic last Wednesday and was promised a callback, which never materialized until Thursday. The physician then attributed the issue to neck problems and prescribed nighttime medication. Taking the tablet Thursday evening, he noted its sedative effect. Friday morning, he felt completely disoriented and suspected the medication's impact, attempting to contact the medical practice for guidance. With no response forthcoming, he called 111, resulting in urgent transfer to Worthing for a CT scan that revealed a brain bleed. Subsequently rushed to Brighton for emergency surgery, he was fortunately saved. We have definitively decided to seek alternative medical care due to this alarming sequence of events.

Terrible customer service at medical practice
I attempted to schedule an appointment twice within a 48-hour period, but was repeatedly informed they were fully booked or unable to book. The receptionist displayed complete indifference and became hostile, raising her voice when I diplomatically pointed out the ineffectiveness of their booking process. All I required was a simple callback, yet their customer service was utterly unacceptable. The level of unprofessionalism was appalling.

Terrible admin service at this medical practice
The medical care quality remains uncertain, but the administrative team and their operational procedures are absolutely abysmal. After submitting an official complaint and making several follow-up attempts, no one from their organization ever responded to me. They have deliberately disregarded my complaint, forcing me to escalate the matter to the Ombudsman and initiate a Data Subject Access Request, which are both my legal entitlements. Moreover, the fact that the DSAR request was entirely overlooked will be reported to the ICO. All of these complications could have been prevented if they had implemented a competent administrative system. This is unquestionably the most inadequate general practice I have ever encountered.

Quick and professional medical care saves the day
I was struggling with a painful, swollen elbow. Using the online e-consultation at 8:30am, I received a callback by 8:40am and was invited to come in at 9:00am. During my appointment, the paramedic technician (Louise) suggested a potential infection. She promptly prescribed antibiotics and arranged a blood test within the hour. The service was exceptional. The previous day, I had initially called when some doctors were absent and the clinic seemed overwhelmingly busy. The receptionist was incredibly courteous and advised me to visit a pharmacist, who recommended Ibuprofen and suggested seeing a doctor. Every staff member I encountered - from the receptionists to the paramedic technician and the blood sample nurse - demonstrated remarkable professionalism. I strongly advise utilizing the e-consultation method for non-urgent medical concerns, ensuring you provide comprehensive symptom details and attach relevant images if possible.

Unhelpful doctor causing unnecessary stress and problems
GP used to be excellent, with fantastic doctors. However, the recently joined physicians have become a significant source of frustration. My mother has been a patient at this practice for 23 years without issues until the past two years. With limited English proficiency, she relies on a translator to understand medical discussions. Shockingly, doctors have accused her of faking her language barrier, making inappropriate and disrespectful claims that create unnecessary awkward situations. Dr. Ferguson, a newer doctor, has been handling most of my mum's recent appointments. While being late twice resulted in appointment cancellations (which is understandable), he consistently interrogates her about hospital appointment rescheduling. He meticulously compiles lists of her rearranged appointments, questioning her motives and suggesting deliberate cancellations. His intrusive and controlling approach seems completely inappropriate and unnecessary. During the latest encounter, Dr. Ferguson presented a comprehensive list of missed appointments from both GP and hospital, dramatically declaring my mum's removal from the practice. When she attempted to challenge this decision, he flatly refused further discussion. Despite her rheumatism causing significant leg problems and painful lumps, he dismissively attributed her condition to luggage carrying - a bizarrely unfounded conclusion. Following an endoscopy revealing numerous stomach polyps, which the hospital team described as "uncountable" and potentially serious, Dr. Ferguson dismissed the concern, claiming it wasn't his specialty and taking no action. His lack of professional referral or concern seems grossly negligent. With my autistic brother, Dr. Ferguson demonstrates remarkable impatience, hindering his ability to comfortably enter consultations. His approach only increases my brother's stress and delays necessary medical interactions. Fortunately, my personal health has been good, potentially limiting further complaints. Not everything is negative - the reception staff remain helpful, and Dr. Arnold continues to provide excellent care. We're now seeking a new GP for my mother and potentially the entire family.

BadTerrible handling and practice since covid
This use to be the best practice but since covid getting an appointment in a normal way just doesn’t happen. People have lives, and work, and can’t sit by the phone all day. They don’t care! They don’t care about your need for urgency, or how this affects your mental health. It is disgusting how they treat patients.

Terrible service and complete medical negligence
Disregarded all my input and botched every single aspect. Denied the presence of a mouth ulcer that was plainly evident and prescribed an incorrect medication dosage. When I explained my pain was intensifying, they simply advised me to continue. Completely incompetent in addressing such a straightforward medical concern.

Based on previous customer feedback, they persistently assert that prescriptions have been dispatched, even when this is demonstrably false. They exhibit numerous additional shortcomings. Overall, their current operational standards are subpar - best to steer clear of this service.

Worst medical centre ever with zero patient care
I'd give a negative rating if that were an option. Utterly appalling service, with zero consideration for patients. My partner is battling a stage 4 brain tumour and depends on repeated steroid prescriptions. Without fail, every emergency prescription becomes a nightmare - recently, the doctor claims they've sent it and it's ready, but invariably they haven't even processed it, essentially lying to patients consistently. The receptionist seems hostile before you've uttered a single word. Their incompetence is staggering; they fail to perform basic duties and casually dismiss legitimate concerns that a cancer patient has been explicitly instructed to raise with them, then act bewildered when patients follow up. They would actually be doing the Worthing community a service by closing down this abysmal excuse for a medical facility.

Quick and caring medical support from broadway mc
Kudos to Broadway MC for their swift response to my medical concerns. Three weeks back, I utilized their paper triage method, and today I successfully connected with a GP online during the 8-10am window. Their efficiency is truly impressive. A special thanks to Dr Chowdhury for providing compassionate assistance with my two challenging health issues.
