Patients consistently report severe difficulties accessing the practice through multiple channels. Telephone contact presents the most significant barrier, with callers experiencing extended waits often exceeding one to two hours, frequent call disconnections, and unresponsive lines where phones ring unanswered. Appointment availability remains critically constrained, with many patients unable to secure same-day or timely slots despite advance notice, and booking processes limited to specific weekdays during restricted morning hours.
Reception experience emerges as a major concern, with patients describing dismissive attitudes, lack of courtesy, and administrative inefficiency. Prescription processing delays are widespread, with requests taking weeks to process despite advance submission. While some clinical staff are noted as compassionate and professional, administrative failures—including lost documentation, incorrect information provision, and poor communication—undermine confidence in the service. A small number of patients report positive experiences with helpful reception staff and supportive clinical care, though these accounts are substantially outweighed by negative feedback.
Patients express frustration that despite the practice's clinical competence in consultations, systemic operational breakdowns in access, communication, and administrative processes create barriers to receiving care. The combination of unresponsive phone systems, limited appointment availability, and reception staff displaying dismissive attitudes has led multiple patients to seek alternative healthcare providers.

Frustrating wait times ruin good medical care
Booking an appointment has become a frustrating experience. The current process requires calling between 8am and 3pm on specific days, followed by enduring a lengthy queue that often exceeds 30 minutes before reaching a representative. The system appears to operate on a first-come, first-served basis, with no guarantee of securing a same-day appointment or callback. While the medical staff themselves are excellent, the administrative service is severely lacking and needs significant improvement.

Terrible medical practice with zero patient care
I've encountered an incredibly frustrating general practice that falls far below acceptable standards. Securing a doctor's appointment seems nearly impossible. The receptionists repeatedly dismiss concerns by casually stating test results are fine. When I attempted to schedule a consultation, they rigidly informed me bookings are exclusively available on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings. Given my work commitments starting at 7:30 am, dedicating 1.5 hours to their phone system is completely impractical. It's absolutely ridiculous that one would need to take time off work just to potentially schedule an appointment, which might then be set two weeks out and only during limited morning hours!

Terrible service and misdiagnosis at this medical practice
Not only did I receive an incorrect diagnosis last month, but I also wasted an entire hour waiting at this medical practice! The receptionist assured me yesterday that I had a 10:30am appointment today. Consequently, I waited an hour to see the nurse, who then claimed she had absolutely no idea why I was there. The nurse explained that she was completely unaware of why the receptionist had told me I had an appointment with her, as she had not scheduled one. Today, I was informed they cannot provide compression stockings because they lack a small enough size, despite measuring my legs four weeks ago. I was frustrated with the receptionist, though I recognized it wasn't the nurse's fault. Last month, a doctor also misdiagnosed me. When I suggested I might have Vitiligo, she incorrectly stated I was the wrong skin color to be diagnosed with the condition and that I'd need to be black. I sought a second opinion and discovered I was correct! I indeed have Vitiligo, a condition where melanin is lacking, causing skin color changes. Anyone, regardless of skin color, can develop Vitiligo! Last year, a male doctor dismissed my concerns when my neck and face swelled dramatically after wisdom teeth extraction. I complained about breathing difficulties and requested help. He advised me to consult my dentist, who immediately referred me to A&E, stating he'd never seen such severe facial swelling. At the hospital, my heart rate exceeded 100! Furthermore, the doctors missed that my partner's grandmother had sepsis last year, despite her being extremely ill with infections, ultimately leading to her tragic hospital death. These medical professionals desperately need improved patient and staff communication. If they're uncertain about a medical condition, they should avoid providing incorrect diagnoses or overlooking potentially dangerous health issues!

Unhelpful staff failed to address my back pain
I called to schedule an appointment due to ongoing back pain, and the receptionist immediately suggested I see a physiotherapist, providing me with a contact number. I'm skeptical about how they can definitively determine that a physiotherapist is the right professional for my condition without a proper consultation.

Worst medical experience with rude staff ever
Absolutely terrible service. I brought my young daughter to her surgical consultation, well-prepared and punctual. When the doctor called her name, another individual rushed in ahead of her, and neither the physician nor the reception staff intervened. Instead of addressing this breach of order, they proceeded to see the other patient while we were left waiting. The whole experience was appalling. To make matters worse, booking the appointment initially required enduring a 30-minute phone queue.

Endless waiting hell for a simple gp call
The phone queue is utterly horrendous. Actually resolving the issue once connected is relatively simple, but these excessive waiting times are a serious problem. The system keeps bumping you back in the queue, incrementally shifting your position from 2 to 3 to 4 and so on. After spending 1 hour and 45 minutes on hold, I've achieved nothing. This GP telephone service is generating significant frustration and stress.

Worst medical experience ever with unhelpful staff
If I could give zero stars, I would. The surgical experience was utterly appalling, and the front desk staff were incredibly discourteous. My daughter was scheduled for her initial vaccinations, and despite me arriving with a double stroller and two sleeping infants, I was instructed to haul both children upstairs manually since the elevator supposedly couldn't accommodate us. The treatment was completely unacceptable. There should absolutely be a healthcare professional available on the ground floor to administer these shots if the facility cannot make proper provisions for mothers with baby carriages. The whole situation was beyond frustrating and totally unacceptable.

Terrible service but decent doctors at this clinic
The surgical experience here is abysmal, with an incredibly frustrating appointment process that's arguably the most dysfunctional in the entire nation! While the medical professionals themselves are competent, navigating the front desk is a nightmare. The scheduling system is so terrible that I'm too exasperated to even detail all its flaws! I'm seriously considering switching to another healthcare provider.

Unprofessional service and unfair patient treatment
Just visited the clinic to pick up my daughter's prescription, and they didn't have her asthma medication. I understand you're busy, but if the staff weren't spending time drinking tea, gossiping, and prioritizing their own children and family members, there would be fewer complaints. I witnessed this firsthand recently: a girl came in seeking an emergency appointment for her COPD-suffering mother and was told no slots were available. Yet, another woman with a child was seen within 20 minutes simply because her family works at the reception. It seems like the staff's family connections are being prioritized over patient care.

Unacceptable medical care for a veteran's needs
The front desk personnel display a dismissive attitude and act as barriers, blocking communication with physicians. The female doctor comes across as harsh and impatient, showing no genuine interest in listening. I've attempted to connect with the practice manager for over two weeks, but she consistently appears unavailable. Prescription errors are frequent, and inexplicably, my medical documentation has disappeared without any clear explanation of its whereabouts. As a veteran who served in Iraq and Afghanistan and now battles severe PTSD, the complete lack of empathy at this medical facility is astounding. I'm not seeking special treatment, but after sacrificing so much to protect our nation's liberties, I certainly don't anticipate being disregarded or treated with contempt by the staff.

Terrible medical practice with frustrating delay tactics
Unsatisfactory experience. I attempted to obtain a medical certificate from the practice, but was informed it would require 8-12 weeks and cost £30. I'm willing to pay extra for expedited service. This mirrors a previous situation with my partner's settlement visa application from 2.5 years ago, where I'm still waiting for the documentation. The medical practice clearly needs significant operational improvements.

Terrible customer service that wastes my time
Waited on hold as the first caller for nearly a quarter of an hour, yet no representative answered. Eventually, I abandoned the call in frustration. I had hoped they were working to improve their surgical services, but it seems absolutely nothing has progressed over time. My disappointment remains unchanged, and this experience is utterly unacceptable!

Compassionate care at my local medical practice
I visited the medical center today for blood tests and diabetes consultation. Initially, I needed guidance and additional support. Vanessa at the front desk was incredibly helpful and coordinated with a nurse to address my need for urinary supplies. I'm grateful to Jemma and the other nursing staff, as well as the friendly and professional reception team. Ron jp-s

Helpful staff but cleaners made me feel unwelcome
I had a mixed experience at this facility. Initially, the receptionist was quite pleasant and helpful. However, the situation took an unpleasant turn when the cleaning staff approached me while I was stretching my leg (I've been dealing with sciatica for six months). They made a crude remark about tables being for glasses, not for sitting or putting feet on, which they loudly proclaimed as the elevator doors were closing. This struck me as extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. I spoke with the initial helpful receptionist about the incident, and we were discussing the matter calmly when another staff member interrupted with an aggressive attitude, demanding that I leave. Once she realized she wasn't part of our conversation, she backed off. My advice to the staff: if you lack basic communication skills or cannot interact with people professionally, perhaps you should consider a different line of work. The behavior I witnessed at Bryntirion was absolutely unacceptable.

Terrible service wasted my entire workday
Contacted medical practice first thing in the morning, informed I was 18th in the queue. After waiting over half an hour, finally reached a representative who said a physician would ring me back. Ended up wasting an entire workday's earnings with no actual consultation received.
