Excellent!

Receptionist was helpful when booking appointment

I am writing this review on behalf of my grandfather. I have been experiencing prolonged severe head discomfort, however following a consultation, the clinician quickly identified the underlying cause and the prescribed medication has successfully resolved the issue. The healthcare professionals at this surgery have been excellent throughout all my interactions with them and I cannot recommend this practice highly enough. They continue to provide outstanding care.

Phone queues could be improved here

The clinical staff are excellent, though there is room for improvement with the telephone system. Additionally, it would be beneficial if reception staff could direct enquiries more efficiently rather than requiring patients to explain their medical concerns in detail at the front desk.

Phone lines constantly engaged during emergencies

Imagine having to wake up very early on a morning when you're unwell to try to secure an urgent appointment, only to experience this difficulty repeatedly over several days with the phone line constantly busy. The practice has left me feeling quite frustrated, and I'm seriously considering looking for alternative healthcare elsewhere. I'm genuinely wondering whether feedback like this is being reviewed and acted upon. There are clear issues that need addressing, or the practice risks losing patients.

Wrong number given caused unnecessary 111 visits

Disappointing experience with service quality. A callback was directed to an incorrect number, which led to contacting an alternative service who recommended pain relief medication. The medication proved ineffective, so I contacted the alternative service again and was advised to attend an emergency department. Additional pain relief was provided there, but remained ineffective. When I called this morning requesting urgent assessment, I was offered a callback appointment for later in the day. I felt a face-to-face examination was necessary rather than a telephone consultation. As a result, we have decided to switch to a different practice.

Waited fifty minutes, received only half the injections needed

Attended an appointment today for multiple injections scheduled for 3.20 pm and was seen at 4.10pm. Only two injections were administered despite requesting all four. When questioned about why the remaining injections could not be provided, the explanation given related to current circumstances and did not seem satisfactory. The healthcare professional appeared uncertain during the procedure and consulted with a colleague who assisted. The appointment was not completed until 5.10pm. Following this experience, I have decided to seek future injection appointments elsewhere.

Struggling to book appointments through constant phone issues

I have been registered at this practice for my entire life and am now 35 years old. I do not require frequent visits, typically attending once every three years or less often. However, I have noticed that attempting to book an appointment has become progressively more challenging, and I often find myself abandoning the effort altogether. The prospect of making a phone call to the practice causes me considerable anxiety. On several occasions, my calls have gone unanswered with continuous ringing, and there have been instances where calls have been terminated unexpectedly. When this happens, I lack the motivation to try again, particularly given the need to navigate the automated system. Due to my frustration with the calling process, I have occasionally visited in person to speak with reception staff, though I have found this approach to be of limited assistance. Fortunately, the occasions when I have delayed seeking help have not involved serious health concerns, and I remain well. The practice was previously an excellent facility where I experienced no difficulties. I would consider registering elsewhere, though reviews of alternative practices appear to reflect similar concerns.

Couldn't get through on the phone at opening time

The opening time was stated as 8:00, however when I called at that time I was unable to get through. This was a very disappointing experience with the service provided.

I have been a patient at this surgery for approximately 15 years. During recent visits, I have been seen by a clinician on several occasions. The appointments were characterised by attentiveness and a caring approach. I felt that the care provided was genuinely focused on my needs as a patient.

Reception staff made navigation difficult

Extremely disappointing experience overall. The lengthy initial process combined with inadequate communication and unhelpful demeanor from the front desk team made accessing care quite challenging. The service structure feels unnecessarily complicated to navigate. Obtaining an appointment or receiving a callback regarding care options takes considerable time, and there appear to be gaps between what staff indicate has been sent and what actually reaches patients, with limited willingness to investigate these discrepancies. Very unsatisfactory.

Reception helpful despite lengthy phone message

The reception team provided excellent customer service both over the phone and face-to-face. My mother was treated with courtesy and care, and felt listened to by the clinician. The only aspect I would suggest improving is the lengthy automated message that plays when calling to book an appointment.

Receptionist's sympathy made the difference

I attended the practice with a health concern and was seen by reception staff who were understanding and promptly scheduled me with a clinical practitioner. My appointment was on schedule. The practitioner assessed my situation and determined I would benefit from seeing a physician, arranging this without delay. The physician was supportive and provided clear explanations. I received medication and guidance on how to proceed. The entire experience was handled efficiently and with a high degree of professionalism throughout. I was very satisfied with the care received.

Considering switching practices after staff changes

I am seriously considering switching to a different practice. I've been dissatisfied with my care since a clinician I was seeing left. Additionally, my partner mentioned seeing a social media post suggesting the practice needs to improve or could face difficulties. This has prompted me to look elsewhere. Does anyone have recommendations for an alternative surgery? My first choice would have been a particular health centre, but unfortunately I live in an area outside their catchment boundaries.

Reception staff made appointments difficult

I have been a patient at this practice for over six years, and my spouse has attended for many years as well. Unfortunately, the quality of care appears to have deteriorated significantly over time. The front desk team and clinical staff have not met my expectations. My experiences have left me feeling that the service lacks the professionalism, courtesy, and standards of hygiene I would hope to receive. I have decided to seek care elsewhere and would encourage other patients to consider whether this practice meets their needs for respectful and compassionate treatment.

Nurses helpful but doctors left me disappointed

The nursing staff are excellent and I have no complaints about them, however I had concerns about the medical practitioners. I was uncertain about their qualifications and felt the care provided was not satisfactory. As a result, I have decided to leave the practice and register elsewhere.
