Patient Experience Summary

Appointment access remains the dominant concern across feedback, with patients consistently reporting inability to secure consultations despite calling at opening times, experiencing long phone queues, and receiving dismissive responses about availability. Phone system issues are widespread, including calls being disconnected after extended waits and automated messages declaring full capacity within minutes of opening. Reception experience is frequently cited as problematic, with staff described as discourteous and unhelpful when addressing booking requests.

While nursing staff competence and professional care quality receive praise in several reviews, these positive experiences are substantially outweighed by reports of poor organisation, communication failures, and lack of continuity of care. Patients describe feeling dismissed by clinical staff, receiving inadequate responsiveness to urgent needs, and encountering barriers to accessing basic services such as prescription renewals and referrals. Several reviewers note a significant decline from previous service standards, particularly since the pandemic.

A minority of patients report positive recent experiences, including responsive communication and flexible appointment options through digital booking platforms. However, the overall pattern indicates systemic challenges with appointment availability, booking experience, and reception courtesy that substantially impact patient confidence in the service.

Terrible service doctors never available to help

Back in the era of Dr Burton and Dr Begley, this surgery was commendable. Now, it's become utterly futile. Securing an appointment is practically impossible. The previously convenient online booking system has mysteriously vanished? It seems they're regressing rather than progressing? The logic is baffling. If you urgently need same-day medical attention, (assuming you're fortunate enough to get through), you're invariably directed to A&E. One might wonder if these physicians actually see patients at all. My husband was recently asked to name his GP, but he's completely clueless, having never successfully consulted a doctor since Dr Begley's departure. Two years ago, when I was experiencing severe stress, total sleeplessness, and feeling overwhelmingly anxious, I miraculously managed to schedule a consultation. Four days later, I received a phone call offering absolutely no meaningful support. I cannot in good conscience recommend this surgery to anyone at this point.

Exceptional care from alishaan and dr herath

Received exceptional treatment from Alishaan. The welcome at the front desk was delightful! Plus, I managed to secure a morning appointment yesterday. Dr. Herath is truly the most compassionate physician I've encountered. Incredibly understanding and supportive.

Disappointing decline in patient care and communication

Always accommodating and consistently professional in the past. However, two years later, this medical practice has become a complete disappointment. They seem reluctant to answer phone calls, clearly attempting to force patients to use their app instead. I was stuck first in line for over half an hour, yet no one would pick up the phone. They even sent me a message about scheduling a pharmacist appointment, but when I try to call, there's absolutely no response.

Worst medical service ever avoid at all costs

Attempting to schedule an appointment here is a nightmare. The phone wait time consistently exceeds three-quarters of an hour, and when you finally reach a representative, they invariably claim to be fully booked for the day. When you try to secure a slot for the following day, you're met with the absurd response that they only accept same-day appointment requests at 08:30 - which is precisely when you've been calling and waiting on hold. I've now spent six consecutive days battling this ridiculous system, all while my health continues to deteriorate. This organization is completely useless and seems designed to prevent patients from receiving any care whatsoever.

Terrible healthcare service that fails patients completely

I've been incredibly frustrated with this medical practice. The catalog of issues is extensive, and would require significant time to fully elaborate. Our most recent experience is just another example of their ongoing poor service. Following an urgent referral and prescription request for our daughter, which was sent to our GP two weeks ago, I followed up to confirm its processing. When they eventually contacted me, they claimed the GP needed to 'verify a few details' - which would necessitate an appointment scheduled three weeks out. It's completely unacceptable! The surgery's performance is so substandard that they might as well shut down entirely. This represents the National Health Service at its most dysfunctional and ineffective.

Frustrating healthcare access with endless appointment struggles

The moment the clinic opens for booking, even if you dial immediately, you're typically greeted with "queue is full, try again later." If you miraculously get through, all available slots have vanished, and you're instructed to attempt again the next day. While the medical personnel themselves seem competent based on my interactions, the sheer difficulty of actually securing an appointment is incredibly frustrating. As a result, we frequently find ourselves resorting to the hospital's minor injuries unit instead.

Impossible healthcare with endless waiting and confusion

Getting an appointment here is about as likely as spotting Santa Claus. The sole occasion I successfully saw a healthcare professional was when a nurse attended to me under a mistaken premise. Right now, I'm struggling to obtain some documentation for my workplace, and apparently, I'm looking at a several-week delay?!

Daisy destroyed my trust in medical care

I interacted with DAISY, who demonstrated extreme unprofessionalism and incompetence, particularly when addressing my three-month-old baby's skin condition. Her approach was shockingly rude and her lack of medical knowledge, empathy, and professional responsibility was deeply concerning. I was subjected to a frustrating series of redirections that highlighted the practice's declining standards. What was once a reputable medical facility has clearly deteriorated. There is a superior alternative nearby. I strongly advise potential patients to steer clear of these healthcare providers who consistently misdiagnose, provide substandard treatment, and refuse to accept accountability for their errors. These professionals seem to have forgotten that they are paid professionals, not volunteers, and should be fulfilling their job responsibilities with diligence and care. Their conduct is nothing short of disgraceful.

Terrible medical service leaving patients without care

Absolutely the most terrible medical practice I've encountered! Their surgical services are practically non-existent due to the complete lack of available appointments. I brought my young daughter, who was referred by emergency services to see her primary care physician, and we endured a grueling two-hour wait just to speak with an appointment coordinator, only to be informed they couldn't schedule us. This isn't an isolated incident; this has been their consistent pattern since 2019. I strongly advise steering clear of this surgery at all costs.

Terrible service putting my child's health at risk

My toddler has experienced recurring illnesses, and I've been unable to secure a single appointment. This comes after enduring up to an hour on hold, only to have the call disconnected when I'm next in the queue - and this isn't an isolated incident. Even when reception actually answers, they dismiss me by suggesting I call back the next day because all appointments are already booked, despite my calling precisely at their 8:30am opening time. The following morning repeats the exact same frustrating scenario. They might as well have a voicemail saying "try again later". I'm utterly disgusted by this so-called health service - their organizational approach is completely nonsensical. It defies logic how appointments can vanish within minutes of the office opening. Save yourself the aggravation and avoid this practice; it's essentially equivalent to having no medical care at all.

Worst medical experience ever terrible healthcare service

I'd generously give zero stars if possible for these utterly ineffective medical professionals. From the front desk to the physicians, every single staff member demonstrates remarkable incompetence. Despite COVID being essentially over, they obstinately refuse patient consultations, regardless of how critical or pressing the medical need might be. What possible justification exists for maintaining an operational medical facility and continuing to pay personnel who categorically avoid seeing patients?

Worst medical care ever avoid at all costs

I'd rate this zero out of five stars if possible. Consistently impossible to secure a same-day appointment, spending hours queuing only to be turned away and told to call back the next day - a frustrating cycle that repeats endlessly. When I reached out with severe throat pain, they dismissively prescribed antibiotics over the phone without physically examining me, which ultimately led to a week-long hospital stay with a serious quinsy infection. Their staff's approach is to simply redirect patients to A&E in Stoke, as if emergency care is a simple solution, without offering any genuine medical support or compassion. The employees are remarkably unhelpful and completely lacking in empathy. I am absolutely determined to switch medical practices at the earliest opportunity.

Worst medical experience ever terrible clinic staff

This was absolutely the worst medical encounter I've ever experienced. The front desk staff are discourteous, ineffective deceivers who demonstrate no professional commitment and show complete disinterest in assisting patients. During my physician consultation, I was suffering intense discomfort, and the doctor treated me as if I were an unwelcome interruption. Instead of investigating the source of my pain, he dismissively suggested I go to the emergency room and completely ignored my attempts to explain my condition. He made no effort to examine or understand my symptoms, leaving me emotionally devastated and weeping from the overwhelming pain. Not a single staff member in the entire facility demonstrated even a basic level of compassion or concern for my wellbeing. I strongly advise anyone to steer clear of this clinic, as it is glaringly obvious that the employees are unwilling to invest even the most minimal effort in performing their professional responsibilities competently.

Utterly overwhelmed and lacking adequate support. Each time I ring right as their lines open, I'm met with a waiting list exceeding 30 people. Their phone infrastructure is equally problematic - I just wasted an hour in the queue, and when I finally reached a representative, they claimed they couldn't hear me despite my phone being fully functional and not muted. They abruptly terminated the call, forcing me to restart the waiting process from position 20. Incredibly exasperating.

I've been a patient at this medical practice for an extended period, and I would strongly advise against scheduling an appointment with their physicians if you're dealing with mental health challenges. They demonstrate a complete inability to provide meaningful support for patients in need, and their communication approach is utterly appalling, characterized by a profound lack of compassion. My interactions with this practice have been overwhelmingly negative. It's clear that a significant deficiency in mental health understanding plagues this healthcare provider, which is deeply concerning given the undeniable interconnection between physical and mental well-being. The doctors at this surgery are absolutely terrible!!!

Worst medical experience ever with terrible staff

Inefficient and incredibly discourteous employees. Securing a same-day appointment is impossible since their phone line remains perpetually unanswered until all slots are filled. During my rare successful booking, I endured a ludicrous one-hour wait despite an apparently empty waiting area. Although I qualify for mask exemption, staff aggressively enforced mask wearing in a deeply uncomfortable manner. The personnel were maliciously unprofessional to an extreme degree, and I sincerely hope to never return to this establishment.

Terrible healthcare service for elderly patients

My aging mother has been dealing with type 2 diabetes, and throughout her journey, she's received zero guidance or support. Securing a medical consultation seems utterly unattainable! There's absolutely no avenue to seek professional advice or schedule a non-urgent appointment! Their sole apparent competence lies in dispatching text messages instructing patients not to call or anticipate any personal interaction! I'm convinced they're still collecting payments for maintaining patients on their register without providing any meaningful care! This medical practice desperately requires investigation by NHS oversight authorities! An absolute embarrassment.
