Patient Experience Summary

Appointment access remains the dominant concern across feedback, with patients consistently reporting inability to secure consultations despite calling at opening times, experiencing long phone queues, and receiving dismissive responses about availability. Phone system issues are widespread, including calls being disconnected after extended waits and automated messages declaring full capacity within minutes of opening. Reception experience is frequently cited as problematic, with staff described as discourteous and unhelpful when addressing booking requests.

While nursing staff competence and professional care quality receive praise in several reviews, these positive experiences are substantially outweighed by reports of poor organisation, communication failures, and lack of continuity of care. Patients describe feeling dismissed by clinical staff, receiving inadequate responsiveness to urgent needs, and encountering barriers to accessing basic services such as prescription renewals and referrals. Several reviewers note a significant decline from previous service standards, particularly since the pandemic.

A minority of patients report positive recent experiences, including responsive communication and flexible appointment options through digital booking platforms. However, the overall pattern indicates systemic challenges with appointment availability, booking experience, and reception courtesy that substantially impact patient confidence in the service.

Bad!

Worst medical experience ever terrible customer service

I've been on hold for two hours attempting to connect with a representative. Upon arriving at the medical facility, they misplaced my referral document and left me waiting for more than thirty minutes while prioritizing other patients over resolving my concern. Completely frustrated, I ultimately departed, thoroughly unimpressed by their incompetent and disorganized approach to customer service.

Terrible doctor with zero compassion or professionalism

Utterly appalling encounter with this so-called healthcare provider, especially regarding Dr. Pavan Bhargava. The individual displayed an abysmal level of professionalism, bluntly declaring over the telephone that my medical concerns were neither his concern nor his duty. I cannot even dignify him with the title of doctor - he is a complete embarrassment to the medical profession. His dismissive and callous approach is beyond unacceptable. I remain in limbo, awaiting any response to my formal complaint. If the rating system allowed, I would enthusiastically assign a negative ten stars to reflect the depth of my dissatisfaction.

Terrible medical practice with zero patient care

This medical practice is an absolute farce. Initially, they claim your test results are fine, then send a cryptic text three days later demanding you take antibiotics without explaining why. When attempting to get clarity, their staff are completely useless - refusing to connect you with a doctor or even relay a message. They've already misread results over the phone and won't clarify the antibiotic prescription's reasoning. Their only solution is telling patients to call at 8:30am for an emergency slot. Ridiculous. Every interaction is marked by rudeness and dismissiveness, with staff even denying patients' symptoms exist during phone consultations. They're unwilling to have patients physically come in and investigate health concerns properly. Anyone moving to High Wycombe should steer well clear of this incompetent practice.

Endless hold music torture at tiny surgery clinic

Waiting on hold with this tiny medical practice feels like an eternity, especially when you're shocked they even have a queue system. Get ready to endure their ear-grating background music and the endless loop of promotional messages about the NHS app that will consume your entire morning. I'm currently caller number 5, and I'm starting to wonder if I'll remain caller number 5 indefinitely. The genuine concern is that my patience might wear thin, causing me to disconnect the call once again. The passage of time will reveal all, and if you're fortunate enough to have spare hours, attempting to schedule an appointment or obtain any information here will provide ample opportunity for contemplating the true significance of time management.

Disappointing decline from once great medical practice

Once, this medical practice was a shining example of healthcare in the region, but now it has drastically deteriorated. They operate with a bureaucratic, impersonal approach that seems more focused on bureaucracy than patient care. It's disheartening to witness such a decline in service quality and professionalism.

Declining service from once-great medical practice

I've been a patient at this medical practice since 1985 when their service was excellent. Sadly, accessing care has become increasingly challenging. They exclusively offer telephone consultations and are nearly impossible to contact by phone. The answering system solely broadcasts COVID-related information and app details, which is incredibly exasperating. Patients can expect to spend up to half an hour on hold just to schedule a telephone appointment that's still two weeks away.

Terrible service and impossible to schedule appointments

Communication with this medical practice is a complete nightmare. Their phone system is a perpetual roadblock - the automated message kicks in at opening time, immediately declaring they're fully booked. It's utterly ridiculous. In two entire years, I've only secured a single appointment by physically showing up, and even then they were reluctant, insisting bookings should be telephone-based. The irony? Their phone lines are perpetually unanswered. Truly a farcical situation. If financial circumstances allowed, I would absolutely seek private healthcare. Update: Their service remains equally terrible.

Terrible service and endless waiting for appointments

The most dreadful surgical experience imaginable. Their lack of organization is appalling. I've been waiting for my son's appointment for seven months, and for myself, it's been a full year. Today, when I went to book an appointment, they casually dismissed it as a "system mistake" with no real explanation or concern.

Frustrating healthcare system fails patients completely

I'm utterly bewildered by the current state of healthcare access at this practice. It's incomprehensible that for a non-urgent medical concern, I'm being told I cannot consult a GP until January! Yesterday, I endured a 30-minute wait only to be informed that no telephone appointments were available, and I was instructed to call early the next morning. Following their advice, I spent nearly an hour in the queue today, only to be told the same frustrating message about appointment unavailability. I'm beginning to question what truly constitutes a medical "emergency" in their eyes. This mirrors a complaint I shared two years ago, and it's disheartening to see the situation hasn't improved. What has happened to the once-efficient surgery I've trusted for over two decades? The entire system seems to have dramatically transformed, with appointments now impossible to secure for an entire month. Just months ago, I could schedule a consultation within a fortnight. Moreover, the on-the-day appointment queue is now completely inaccessible, with perpetually blocked phone lines. I'm left wondering: WHAT WENT WRONG?!

Terrible medical service leaving patients without care

The quality of care at this medical practice has significantly deteriorated. I've completely lost faith in their services due to the persistent inability to secure an appointment. Despite being a key worker, they show no consideration for my needs. Multiple times, I've arrived precisely at 8:30 am, only to be left waiting 20-25 minutes, only to receive the same dismissive response that they are fully booked for the day. The entire experience has been utterly frustrating and unacceptable.

Terrible healthcare service leaving patients in distress

Deeply disappointed with the care provided. I've been sick for seven days and failed to secure a phone consultation. Forced to turn to 111 for an in-person appointment instead. It's frustrating that a simple prescription could potentially be handled via telephone. As an NHS employee myself, I find this level of service completely unacceptable. The quality of care is shockingly poor.

Frustrating healthcare experience with endless runaround

The staff members are pleasant, but the patient care is seriously lacking. I've been attempting to schedule an appointment for a fortnight, and today when I finally got through, I was informed no slots were open and advised to try again in a few days! I've been persistently trying for weeks. This was never a problem before the pandemic. Given my pressing medical requirements, I'm baffled about how I'm supposed to see a physician. When directed to the walk-in centre, they were clearly frustrated and redirected me back to the doctor's office for an appointment!!! The quality of patient care in this region is rapidly deteriorating.
