Charged extra for incomplete HGV medical

Attended this practice for a commercial vehicle medical examination. The appointment proceeded, however I was not informed in advance that a particular test could not be completed at this location. Additionally, I was not provided with pricing information when I made the booking. I was subsequently charged £140 for the incomplete examination, whereas I have since received a quote of £55 from another provider for the same service. If you are considering this practice for a commercial vehicle medical, you may wish to compare costs and services with other options available.

Took collapse to get taken seriously here

I felt my concerns were not taken seriously initially and required a significant health event before receiving appropriate investigation. After persistent symptoms and episodes, I was eventually referred for imaging which identified a structural issue. I wish my initial complaints had been addressed more promptly. Booking an appointment by phone is challenging. The reception staff can come across as unwelcoming and dismissive during calls. Basic politeness seems to be lacking in these interactions. Waiting times are consistently long at this practice. I regularly experience delays of 40-60 minutes beyond my scheduled appointment time. This is frustrating and impacts my ability to plan my day.

I have been attempting to book an appointment for the past couple of days without success, as the phone lines have been difficult to reach. After being advised to visit in person and explaining my concerns, I was unable to receive the assistance I needed. Even after attending the surgery directly, the matter remained unresolved.

I have been very satisfied with this practice. I have consistently been able to obtain appointments on the same day with either a clinician or nursing staff. The clinical care and management provided has consistently proven to be effective, and I could not reasonably expect anything better than that.

Phone queue left me hanging without answer

Disappointing Disappointing Disappointing. I was early in the queue so expected to reach someone quickly. I waited...and waited...and waited...but nobody picked up. In the end I had to disconnect the call. I felt sorry for those calling after me... The practice would benefit from having additional staff members. In particular, more people are needed to handle telephone enquiries.

It was extremely difficult to reach the practice by phone, with frequent busy signals followed by extended periods on hold lasting well over fifteen minutes, with no indication of whether the connection remained active. The service fell short of expectations when assistance was needed.

Staff made me feel genuinely supported and calm

Can't fault this practice, lovely caring staff who were fantastic with me given my specific health needs and anxieties. I'm currently receiving specialist mental health support and today I attended my appointment without my usual support person as I wanted to challenge myself. The compassionate approach of the team has genuinely boosted my confidence a bit, thank you so much.

Long waits, but turned away for being late

Be prepared for extended waiting periods. On three separate visits, I experienced waits of between 30 and 45 minutes beyond my scheduled appointment times. However, on one occasion when I arrived 15 minutes late due to traffic, I was turned away, despite the practice running to schedule that particular day, which was unusual. I was instructed to reschedule or telephone on Monday. When I followed this advice and arrived early to queue before opening, I was first in line. Throughout the day, I observed patients who had arrived after me being called through for their appointments while I remained waiting. Eventually, I was seen approximately 30 minutes behind my rescheduled time. There appears to be an inconsistency in how appointment times are managed and prioritised. This has been a disappointing experience overall.
