Lowe house medical practice exceeds all expectations

Absolutely incredible medical practice! The doctors are exceptional, and the receptionist always welcomes patients with a warm, friendly smile. My preferred physician, Dr. Borland, is particularly outstanding - they provide comprehensive care and offer the most effective recovery advice. Worst medical reception staff ever experienced

The reception staff here are absolutely dreadful. If a lower rating were possible, I'd use it. The stress of finding a new medical practice is the only thing stopping me from switching. Initially, with an excruciating earache, a receptionist casually directed me to a chemist, dismissing my intense pain. I was only seen by a physician after they reluctantly acknowledged my severe ear infection. Today, as a wheelchair user with chronic health conditions, I'm completely immobilized with back pain. Despite explaining my situation thoroughly, I was merely told to come in. I ultimately contacted 111, who confirmed my symptoms required urgent medical intervention and an ambulance. These receptionists desperately need comprehensive training. Bizarrely, I was accused of shouting, which is completely untrue. I was in extreme pain and partially deaf, struggling to communicate, yet the receptionist claimed she didn't hear me mention my wheelchair status, despite my explicitly stating it at the beginning of our conversation. Anyone seeking a new medical practice should absolutely avoid this one. The doctors themselves are fine, but the reception staff are catastrophically incompetent.

Terrible service from unhelpful and dismissive gp

I'd give zero stars if possible. I contacted the medical practice after testing positive for covid, and given my autoimmune condition, I was previously informed I qualified for anti-viral medication. However, the physician on the phone dismissed my concerns and flatly stated they no longer prescribe these treatments, even for individuals with weakened immune systems. The complete absence of compassion and professional care is shocking. General practitioners have clearly declined in their commitment to patient welfare. I am absolutely determined to find a different healthcare provider who actually demonstrates genuine concern for their patients.

Incompetent gp fails to care for sick baby

I reached out to our GP regarding my 15-month-old granddaughter's conjunctivitis. Initially, I was directed to a pharmacist, who then sent me back to the GP, claiming they cannot treat children under 2. After a day of endless messages and phone calls, the GP finally responded saying she didn't need to be seen and required no treatment. Essentially, the doctor dismissed her without even examining her, effectively refusing medical attention. By this point, my granddaughter's eyes were so swollen and infected she looked like she'd been in a fight, with her eyes nearly shut. We subsequently took her to a walk-in centre the following morning, where she was comprehensively examined and prescribed antibiotic eye drops within 30 minutes. Just a few drops began clearing the infection rapidly. I'm astounded that a GP could refuse to see a 15-month-old baby with any medical condition. As a result, I've already switched medical practices due to their appalling service. Moreover, their appointment booking system seems perpetually non-functional, and I'm convinced it's never actually operational at this practice.

The updated system is completely ridiculous. Why have they stopped allowing direct patient scheduling and forced everyone to use this impersonal method? It's absurd that seniors can no longer easily book appointments by simply calling, which must be incredibly frustrating for older patients.

Frequently, I set my phone to block incoming calls before they even ring. Attempting to schedule a telephone consultation means enduring weeks of waiting. Face-to-face appointments are completely unavailable. The reception staff seem pleasant, but they consistently provide inaccurate information. This medical practice has become thoroughly disappointing.

Terrible service and unprofessional medical staff attitude

they completely abandoned me without any consideration, despite having a scheduled appointment, simply because I updated my prescription address—even though I hadn't actually relocated. The staff was unhelpful and borderline discourteous during our phone interaction, arbitrarily placing me on hold without any explanation. I'm thoroughly frustrated because I was previously assured I could continue receiving care from this physician, but today I was abruptly informed they could offer no assistance. If possible, I would give zero stars as a rating.

Terrible healthcare with zero diagnostic competence

Central service is a misnomer - they should simply be called Central, as they've abandoned any semblance of actual service. They've barely managed to reestablish their out-of-hours on-call doctor provision. How can Dr. Michael possibly diagnose a rash via telephone and claim it's scarlet fever, then prescribe penicillin? Moreover, if it truly were scarlet fever, penicillin wouldn't even be an effective treatment 😉

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Rachel Sutton, the nurse who was truly exceptional, compassionate, empathetic, and supportive. She was incredibly helpful in managing my complex physical and mental health challenges. Throughout our interactions, she consistently made me feel comfortable and valued, always going above and beyond to accommodate my needs. Recognizing my severe phone anxiety, she ensured face-to-face consultations whenever possible, and when in-person meetings weren't feasible, she was flexible enough to communicate via text messages. I cannot adequately convey the profound impact she has had on my healthcare journey. I've been a patient at Central Surgery for approximately 18 months and am now transitioning to a new practice due to relocation. The majority of the reception staff are courteous and understanding, particularly regarding my severe anxiety and communication difficulties. They are patient and take the time to listen without pressuring me. While I cannot comment on the GP services, I wholeheartedly recommend Central Surgery primarily because of Rachel's outstanding care.
