Exceptional healthcare at central surgery in rugby

Recently relocating to Rugby, I hadn't needed medical services for nearly ten years. However, over the past few months, I've required some healthcare assistance. Central Surgery has been outstanding, quickly arranging appointments and providing consistently positive interactions with their staff. Initially, I consulted a male paramedic practitioner who was welcoming, supportive, and efficiently addressed my concerns. Dr Caleyachetty was equally impressive, carefully listening to my issues without dismissing them, particularly regarding sensitive female health matters, and providing effective guidance. During my appointment with Dr Armstrong (accompanied by a trainee), she was compassionate, informative, and prescribed medication that has already shown positive results. The consultation felt unhurried and comfortable, unlike some medical experiences. Nurse Avril Webb was particularly exceptional. Female medical examinations are typically uncomfortable, but her professionalism, empathy, and gentle approach made the entire process remarkably smooth. She explained everything so comprehensively that I felt completely at ease and well-supported. I'm truly grateful for these wonderful experiences during a challenging period in my life!

Misdiagnosed clots nearly cost me my life

For months, multiple general practitioners at my local practice disregarded my symptoms as mere anxiety, despite me scheduling 6-7 appointments to express my growing concerns. I persistently explained that my symptoms were worsening, which ultimately triggered severe health anxiety because I knew something was fundamentally wrong with me. It took me nearly fainting and feeling extremely unwell before going to the emergency room, where I was diagnosed with blood clots in both lungs. My consultant confirmed that all my previous symptoms were indeed consistent with this condition. This has been an incredibly frightening experience that has completely eroded my trust in the GP practice, and this isn't the first time they've dismissed my health concerns only to later discover I actually had a genuine medical condition. I'm utterly bewildered by how such repeated mistakes can occur, and I strongly feel that the presence of mental health notes on my record leads them to automatically discount my physical symptoms.

Chronic delays make central surgery a frustrating experience

I've been a patient at Central Surgery for over a decade, and frankly, I'm fed up with their chronic tardiness. Without fail, every single appointment runs 15 to 20 minutes behind schedule, which has become incredibly exasperating. As a parent who must coordinate complex childcare and work shift arrangements with my partner, these delays are more than just an inconvenience. What's particularly maddening is that the waiting room is frequently near-empty, so there's no apparent justification for these consistent delays. It seems they have zero regard for patients' time and commitments. Despite my long-standing relationship with this practice, absolutely nothing has improved over the years. Their lack of punctuality and apparent disrespect for patients' schedules is deeply disheartening. I'm truly disappointed by their ongoing lack of consideration.

What a complete disaster - I showed up well ahead of my scheduled time, only to be informed the doctor was merely 'a bit delayed'... yet after spending over 90 minutes here, conducting an entire online meeting in their waiting area, there's still no physician in sight. Avoid this place at all costs. Their level of indifference is appalling, with zero concern for patients or providing quality care.

Friendly paramedic fails at final prescription step

I visited the paramedic today, and they were exceptional - incredibly detailed, warm, and offering extensive guidance, far surpassing the quality of physicians at our local practice. They recommended antibiotics for my son and mentioned a doctor needed to approve the prescription. However, after waiting five hours, the pharmacy still hasn't received the signed document! It's absolutely frustrating. My child is suffering terribly from a chest infection, and we're completely stuck because of this administrative delay. Completely ineffective and unhelpful!

I received criticism from a physician who claimed my weight was responsible for my diabetes, but the diabetes team at St. Cross Hospital has been supportive and recognizes my progress. I was previously associated with Central Surgery, but since Dr. Cottrell's departure, the practice seems to be declining. Now, I exclusively consult with Dr. Shankuma, Dr. Panniker, and Dr. Kotnani, who genuinely comprehend my mental health challenges.

It seems they've made significant progress. The staff at the reception, whether in person or on the phone, are absolutely delightful. Terrible service and disrespectful staff at clinic

My partner sought an urgent medical consultation yesterday, his first visit to this practice in a long time. Upon arriving at reception, he was met with an abrasive greeting: 'Why are you here at the desk?' The receptionist's tone was unnecessarily harsh. A simple, professional response like 'Please sign in over there' would have been appropriate. Regardless of personal mood, customer service requires basic respect. If you cannot maintain a courteous demeanor in a customer-facing role, perhaps it's time to consider alternative employment. Healthcare settings are stressful enough without adding interpersonal hostility. Moreover, he was led to believe he would consult with a physician, but instead was seen by a medical assistant. This appears symptomatic of a broader issue: an overcrowded patient load with insufficient medical staff, yet appointments continue to be scheduled indiscriminately.
