Appointment access remains the most significant challenge facing this practice, with patients consistently reporting extensive phone queue delays, limited availability, and a booking system that fails to meet demand. Callers frequently experience waits of 30 minutes to over an hour only to be told no slots remain, creating a frustrating cycle where patients are instructed to call back the following day. The phone infrastructure appears inadequate for the patient population, and the online booking platform has generated mixed feedback regarding functionality and accessibility.
While reception staff and clinical practitioners generally receive positive recognition for courtesy, professionalism, and compassionate care, these strengths are substantially undermined by systemic operational failures. Patients report issues with prescription management, administrative delays, poor communication about appointment changes, and lack of continuity when seeing different practitioners. Several reviews highlight concerns about staffing levels and the reliance on locum doctors rather than permanent GPs, contributing to inconsistent care experiences.
The practice environment itself is noted as clean and well-maintained, and some patients have experienced positive outcomes when they successfully access appointments. However, the overwhelming pattern across feedback indicates that appointment availability difficulties and communication failures create significant barriers to care, with some patients choosing to transfer to alternative providers or use walk-in centres instead.

Two-week wait for a lousy appointment
Might as well skip the Chapleford doctors entirely and dial Widnes walk-in center directly, since that's essentially what they always tell you to do. The receptionists are consistently discourteous, acting like they're medical experts when they're clearly not. You'll waste nearly an hour and a half on hold, only to be informed that the soonest available appointment is two weeks from Thursday. Sure, I'll schedule that and magically hope my severe tonsillitis conveniently disappears today and miraculously returns exactly on the appointment date.

Cancelled seven times with zero compassion
If I could, I'd award zero stars to this practice. Over the past year, my routine appointments have been cancelled a staggering 7 times, and now they claim they can't even schedule my next check-up, suggesting I use a walk-in clinic—impossible for someone with a full-time job. The receptionists have consistently displayed shocking rudeness, showing absolutely no compassion or understanding about how their appointment mismanagement affects my healthcare. They've dramatically shifted my scheduled times without warning—moving a 4pm slot to 10am the same day, and another from 3pm to 12pm, then absurdly claiming I was late when I arrived at 12:05 after rushing directly from work in Liverpool, leaving me waiting 20 minutes before dismissing me. Their disregard for patient care is appalling. Anyone with alternative GP options should absolutely avoid this practice. As a final insult, I once had a doctor attempt to attribute severe infection-related pain to menstruation—which is impossible given my birth control—demonstrating their complete medical incompetence and lack of genuine patient care.

Locum doctors and one part-time gp
Updated for 2022. The impressive medical facility with multiple treatment rooms has merely 1 general practitioner listed as the lead partner, working only part-time. Patients will exclusively encounter locum doctors, with an inadequate target of just one per day, which is clearly insufficient. Throughout the previous year, all consultations were managed through push doctor. It has emerged that the single part-time GP is actually a full-time senior executive at push doctor, representing a deeply unethical conflict of interest when securing services. There's been a marginal improvement in that locum doctors are now present, unlike previously when no medical professionals were available, but comparable healthcare centers offer permanent GPs allowing patients to develop relationships and experience continuity of care. Chapelford will claim they are oversubscribed, though this is standard across all practices. Their funding should support more frontline medical professionals beyond a single daily locum. Patients would be wise to seek alternative healthcare providers.

Quicker access and new physio at health centre
I've previously expressed concerns about this Health Centre, but recently, there's been a noticeable enhancement. Securing an in-person consultation with a Doctor remains difficult due to patient volume versus physician availability, yet they can arrange a phone or video consultation within a reasonable timeframe. Additionally, they now offer an on-site Physiotherapist by appointment. Overall, this visit demonstrated a significant upgrade. Kudos to the team.

Endless waiting for appointments that never come
My comments are not a criticism of the reception staff, who are pleasant and clearly just working within the existing framework. The facilities are consistently clean and well-maintained, a significant upgrade from the previous portable cabin arrangement! However, the 1-star rating is directed at their administrative processes and management. To secure an appointment, you must phone at 8am, and regardless of how promptly you dial, you're inevitably placed in a queue numbered in the tens. Multiple times we've endured wait times exceeding an hour, only to discover no appointments remain, with the unhelpful suggestion to "try again tomorrow". This booking method is absolutely frustrating! The medical practice appears significantly overloaded and urgently requires a more effective appointment scheduling approach. During the covid period, they utilized Push Doctor, which was exceptional - it enabled same-day video consultations that frequently met our healthcare needs perfectly.

Worst medical practice ever
I have never encountered a more inefficient medical practice in my entire life. There's only one doctor available, and securing an appointment requires booking a month ahead. The daily slots vanish instantly due to the completely overwhelmed phone system. This practice has deteriorated so dramatically over the past six years that it's practically a comedy of errors. Seriously, steer clear of this place - your health could genuinely be at risk if you choose to register here.

Terrible service during our family's grief
This establishment is nothing short of a complete disaster. Six days ago, my Aunt passed away, and the coroner has been persistently attempting to contact us via phone and email, yet we've received no reply. My Aunt's body remains with the coroner, and we are still without a death certificate. As a result, we've been forced to postpone the funeral due to insufficient time for arrangements. Additionally, we are now unable to register her death within the mandated 5-day legal window. A devastated family.

Missed calls and wasted time at clinic
Received a vague communication about a phone consultation scheduled for the 28th without specifying a precise time. Unexpectedly got a midday call informing me the doctor had left early, pushing the appointment to the 29th at 2:30pm. A subsequent text confirmed the 28/06 at 2:30pm, which I initially didn't find concerning. Come appointment time, no call materialized. Spent 90 minutes on hold before the line disconnected. Rushed home from work only to find a notice with zero explanation about cancellation or rescheduling. Even the local pharmacy was unaware of any changes! Upon checking online, I discovered my test results had been available since the 22nd, yet still no communication regarding the outcome. Absolutely speechless with frustration.

Endless phone wait drove me crazy
Absolutely absurd wait times just to get someone on the line - I've already been on hold for 90 minutes. Their online booking system is completely non-functional, and despite claims of repeat prescriptions, you're forced to call every single time you need a refill. The inconvenience is unbearable, and I'm definitely looking to change healthcare providers as soon as possible.

Locum nightmare at this clinic
A practice lacking permanent physicians. Every consultation involves a temporary locum, assuming you can secure an appointment at all. They should be prohibited from accepting patients when they cannot provide consistent medical care with regular doctors.

Endless wait on frustrating customer service call
I was first in line during a phone call that dragged on for nearly three-quarters of an hour! What exactly are the receptionists getting paid to do? The service quality has seriously deteriorated since the pandemic! They're just scraping by with the most minimal effort possible.

Endless wait at number 23 in queue
This practice deserves zero stars, not even one! Securing an appointment is a nightmare. Their phone line is perpetually jammed, and when you call early in the morning, you're immediately placed at position 23 in the queue, with wait times stretching up to 50 minutes before anyone picks up. By the time you finally reach the front of the line, all appointments have vanished. Even on my "best" attempt, starting at number 9 in the queue and waiting 30 minutes, I was met with zero availability. They offer absolutely no pre-booking options. Getting to see a GP here is simply unachievable.

Endless wait for a pointless phone call
Chapelford Health has completely drained me, leaving me with little motivation to elaborate extensively. My experience mirrors the sentiments of previous reviewers - securing an appointment is an incredibly frustrating process, and the entire system appears chaotic. I wasted nearly two hours standing in their queue, only to be informed that my upcoming nurse appointment cannot be rescheduled due to her imminent departure. Consequently, if I'm unable to attend the original timeslot, I'll need to seek alternative arrangements through another provider.

Endless hold times and zero appointments
COVID has become a convenient cover for the abysmal customer service at this medical practice. Patients are subjected to endless waiting times on the phone, ultimately being informed that no appointments are accessible and redirected to the Bath Street Walk-in Centre. This establishment deserves to be shut down by the healthcare authorities.

Waited 15 minutes to hear no appointments
I was feeling under the weather and foolishly tried to secure a medical consultation today. Dialed at 8.00 AM, found myself 13th in line, and after a 15-minute wait, was informed no slots were available. I inquired whether they truly limit themselves to just 12 patients daily, to which the receptionist vaguely responded that it varies based on the attending physician. It's mind-boggling that such a substantial medical facility can only manage to see a dozen patients per day. Absolutely absurd.
