Patient Experience Summary

Feedback across this file reveals a practice facing significant operational challenges, with appointment access and communication emerging as persistent concerns. Patients consistently report difficulties reaching the practice by phone, with lengthy wait times and frequent disconnections, alongside challenges securing appointments through both online and in-person booking methods. Reception experience has been a notable pain point, with some patients describing staff as unresponsive or dismissive, though others have praised friendly and professional interactions. These access difficulties appear to reflect broader staffing constraints, with multiple reviews noting insufficient reception capacity to manage call volumes effectively.

Where patients have successfully accessed clinical care, experiences have been more positive, with many praising the professional competence and compassion of medical staff, including doctors and nurses. Several reviews highlight attentive care, seamless referral processes, and genuine engagement with patient concerns. Online booking systems have received mixed feedback, with some finding the process straightforward and convenient, whilst others report system limitations or unresponsive follow-up after submission. Continuity of care has been raised as an issue by some patients, particularly regarding inconsistent physician availability.

The practice appears to operate under significant resource constraints that impact service delivery. Whilst clinical care quality receives consistent recognition, the gap between appointment availability and patient demand, combined with communication challenges, has created frustration across the patient population. Several reviews acknowledge the broader NHS pressures affecting the practice, though this context does not fully address the specific operational difficulties patients encounter when attempting to access services.

Frustrating Physio Appointment Chaos

My first physiotherapy visit at this clinic was a complete disaster. Booked through Sirona Healthcare for my dislocated knee, I arrived 10 minutes early only to encounter a malfunctioning check-in system. The automated screen displayed an error, forcing me to the reception. No staff were present at the front desk, and there was no way to leave a note about my arrival. I joined the queue, spending 20 agonizing minutes moving just two steps forward. I overheard receptionists turning away patients who were late and hadn't signed in, which seemed utterly unprofessional. Frustrated, I abandoned the queue and rescheduled my appointment elsewhere. I had taken time off work and arranged transportation with my partner, only to be met with this ridiculous experience. Absolutely not worth the effort, and I will never return to this practice. Anyone considering this clinic should steer clear - it's a total waste of time.

Dangerous Medication Mix-up Nearly Killed Me

My experience with this clinic has been absolutely dreadful. For more than a month, I've been unable to obtain my blood pressure medication due to an unacceptable mistake of sending it to a Birmingham pharmacy, despite not residing there. The consequences were severe - I ended up spending the previous night in the emergency room. Before going to the ER, I attempted to secure a doctor's appointment, but was flatly denied. My blood pressure soared above 170 systolic, directly resulting from their unprofessional and negligent behavior. Additionally, I've been struggling with a serious dermatological condition, pursuing an appointment for over a year without success. I cannot even obtain a simple antibiotic for my condition. Overall, the treatment I've received from this clinic is completely unacceptable and shocking.

Frustrating Appointment Scheduling at Charlotte Keel

Charlotte Keel's service quality has deteriorated significantly. Their current communication policy is frustratingly restrictive, with limited accessibility during what they ambiguously define as "core hours." Previously, I could easily submit an appointment request online at any time, but now they've imposed arbitrary time constraints on even this simple process.

Frustrating delay at Charlotte Keel clinic

After struggling to connect via phone, I was promised a pharmacist would contact me that day. This commitment went unfulfilled. Consequently, I had to call again the following day (accumulating 2 hours of phone time and over a day's delay in response). Despite this, no doctor consultation occurred; instead, a receptionist claimed a doctor had 'reviewed my notes' and directed me to a specialized clinic. Due to the significant delay in providing this guidance, I missed the clinic's operating hours as the week had concluded. Now I'm forced to wait until Monday for assistance. Subsequently, I contacted NHS 111, described my symptoms, and they emphasized the urgent need for immediate medical consultation, promptly arranging a doctor's callback within 3 hours. The Charlotte keel team's lack of responsiveness and professional compassion was deeply troubling. Moving forward, I'll bypass their service and directly contact 111 for healthcare support.

Endless Waiting and Frustrating Phone Calls

The staff appear overwhelmed and under-resourced to handle the volume of incoming calls. The underlying reasons are clear. Once connected, their assistance is subpar. Securing an actual GP appointment seems unlikely, and you'll likely encounter misleading information. Expect approximately 20 minutes of constant redial due to perpetually engaged phone lines, particularly during morning hours, followed by a minimum 30-minute wait in the queue. Eventually, you'll speak with someone who will typically request you to wait an additional four hours for a doctor's callback. Then, it might take a day or more before you can actually see a healthcare professional, either in person or via video consultation. Essentially, you're looking at a 4-5 day waiting period. This level of service is completely unacceptable, especially considering the substantial monthly fees we all pay.

Worst Medical Practice in Bristol

This medical practice in Bristol is absolutely the worst. It's clear they're solely focused on claiming government funds without any genuine concern for patient care. Their approach feels entirely transactional and impersonal. If you have the option to select a different healthcare provider, I strongly recommend doing so.

30-Minute Waits and Dropped Calls

Charlotte Keel Medical Practice has regrettably devolved from a reliable healthcare resource into a wellspring of patient exasperation. In recent times, their communication channels have become virtually impenetrable, leaving individuals feeling utterly helpless. The morning routine now involves enduring prolonged telephone waits, frequently culminating in frustrating disconnections, with subsequent attempts throughout the day consistently falling into a void of silence. Although staffing constraints might partially explain these challenges, the fundamental need remains: patients must have reliable access to medical professionals during critical moments. A touch of compassion from reception staff could dramatically improve the entire experience. I urge the team to consider the emotional journey of those seeking medical assistance. This systemic breakdown isn't an isolated incident but a pervasive issue affecting vulnerable patients already wrestling with health uncertainties. The management must urgently confront these communication failures, demonstrating genuine accountability. While there's skepticism about whether this feedback will resonate, I sincerely hope the leadership will recognize the profound patient distress and implement immediate, meaningful improvements to accessibility and service quality. Charlotte Keel Medical Practice must understand that patient care extends far beyond clinical interactions – it's about creating a supportive, responsive healthcare environment that truly prioritizes patient needs.

This medical facility is absolutely terrible and should be steered clear of. Their communication is abysmal, arguably the most inadequate I've encountered, consistently disregarding patient requests and making it completely unfeasible to connect with a general practitioner when urgent assistance is required. Moreover, they recklessly prescribed unnecessary antibiotics in my case. Their phone system is perpetually unavailable, and they seem to handle patient concerns with total disregard. Months of Waiting for Unhelpful Care

I won't condemn the staff outright, but it seems the practice managers are solely focused on securing government funding. After extensive experience with this clinic, I've found it utterly ineffective. Scheduling an appointment requires waiting months, only to meet someone who immediately declares they can't help with your specific medical concern. This then necessitates booking another appointment, which will consume additional months. Who can possibly endure four months of persistent pain and ongoing health complications? Substantial public resources and time could be conserved if these phantom healthcare practices were to be shut down.

Urgent Medical Concern Ignored at Keel Practice

I encountered an utterly disheartening experience with the Charlotte Keel Medical Practice. Their complete disregard for patient care was appalling. When I sought help for a medical issue, I was forced to contact 111 for support. The 111 healthcare professionals correctly identified my condition as urgent, yet the triage staff at Charlotte Keel Medical Practice appeared indifferent. This led to an exasperating exchange between my GP and 111, leaving me in a state of anxiety and uncertainty. Additionally, I was promised a callback within 2 hours following the 111 consultation, but no communication was received. Upon finally reaching out to my GP again, I was told I would face a 5-day wait for a doctor's consultation, and that my 111 referral was inconsequential. Such treatment is not only unreasonable but completely unacceptable when addressing health concerns. I strongly caution anyone seeking medical care to avoid Charlotte Keel Medical Practice. Their lack of responsiveness and apparent disregard for patient welfare is absolutely shocking. Steer clear of this practice if you expect even the most basic level of care and professional respect. Their failure to even acknowledge reviews on their Google page further demonstrates their problematic approach. To the doctors at Charlotte Keel: You should be thoroughly ashamed. Why has this practice consistently maintained such a poor reputation? Why can't you learn from other Bristol surgeries with exceptional CQC reports like Pembroke Road Surgery or Greenway Community Practice? The management requires immediate and radical transformation. You've taken a Hippocratic Oath to provide ethical medical care, yet you demonstrate none. What was the point of your extensive medical training if you've become mediocre professionals who seem to care nothing for patient welfare? Take responsibility for your actions and stop disrespecting the patients funding your wages. You're currently an embarrassment to the remarkable NHS we have.
