Frustrating healthcare system wastes precious weekend time

Medical professionals sending out prescription requests without proper authorization... fantastic!!!! Now I'm stuck wasting an entire Saturday at the urgent care clinic (guaranteed to be at least 4 hours) just to obtain another prescription so we can actually get the needed medication.

The medical practice is experiencing significant strain. Securing an appointment can be challenging, but I view this as a consequence of the NHS's insufficient funding rather than a shortcoming of the clinic itself. When attempting to schedule an appointment, I was treated with compassion and helpfulness, and the reception staff even made two follow-up calls to assist me. While I'm satisfied with the surgery, I believe the NHS critically requires approximately double its current funding from our collective tax contributions. Billions of pounds are urgently needed, along with a greater emphasis on promoting preventative health through individual lifestyle choices that can mitigate potential illnesses.

Frustrating healthcare experience with unhelpful appointment system

The nursing and reception team are fantastic, but the appointment system is incredibly frustrating. I've been registered at this practice for nearly two years and have yet to actually see a physician. Their booking process requires calling the same day, which means waiting on hold for hours after the lines open. When you finally get through, you receive a text with an appointment slot right in the middle of the workday - completely impractical for someone who works over an hour away. I've repeatedly tried to explain my scheduling challenges, but to no avail. At this point, I'm resigned to waiting and will likely end up in the emergency room before getting proper medical attention!

Frustrating gp surgery with poor appointment system

This GP is a complete misuse of public funds... This is the first medical practice I've been forced to register with (due to residential constraints) where appointment booking is virtually impossible. You can only attempt to secure a same-day slot, which isn't even guaranteed. Previously, I could book appointments on any available dates and call for cancellations twice daily, but here the 8am booking window is practically impenetrable. Massive facility, numerous staff yet critically short on medical professionals. Morning phone booking is an absolute nightmare Calling after 9am means potentially waiting longer than during the peak hour - my personal record was a 40-minute wait while being the sole caller! The surgery's cleanliness isn't consistently impressive, though a separate company manages maintenance. Reception staff vary wildly - some are genuinely helpful while others appear completely lost, lacking basic competence and communication skills. They urgently need comprehensive training. One front desk employee (whose name escapes me) consistently demonstrates politeness and a genuine desire to assist, unlike her colleagues. Samira Esmaelifar Physician Associate Demonstrates unprofessional behavior, displays rudeness, and seemingly demonstrates total disregard for patient concerns. Dr King Appears to be the most compassionate practitioner, actively listening and providing comprehensive information when necessary. Dr Basu Acceptable, though Dr King remains superior. After 2.5 years with this practice, I'm sharing an honest assessment - potential patients deserve transparency about what they're signing up for. Cannot comment on nursing or midwifery staff due to no personal interaction.

Terrible service and discriminatory comments at clinic

During the registration process, I received a highly inappropriate comment suggesting 'oh, you Europeans are all coming to the UK'?! This struck me as extremely unprofessional. Additionally, they would only offer same-day appointments, which was completely impractical. I explained that I need to arrange time off work and cannot simply drop everything at a moment's notice. Despite my reasonable explanation, they were unwilling to accommodate my needs. As a result, I was forced to switch to a different medical practice.

My mother absolutely dreads visiting this place. While the physicians are excellent, the support staff's treatment of senior patients is shockingly poor. They're incredibly condescending and seem perpetually overwhelmed, offering minimal assistance to older individuals.

Worst healthcare experience ever nightmare clinic

I was directed to this facility by the NHS Hotline as an urgent case and even completed their registration. Despite this, they didn't pick up when I called, so I drove the short distance over. Once there, they completely dismissed my situation, abruptly referring me to a specialized clinic that was shut down in the coming days and apparently only for critical emergencies (with no patients present). I was forced to leave still bleeding and experiencing intense pain, ultimately having to contact the NHS again. Their lack of responsiveness, especially near closing time, was utterly unacceptable.

Their appointment scheduling approach is absurdly restrictive, limiting patients to same-day booking only, which essentially means you might not secure any consultation, much less with your preferred doctor.
