Reception staff treated me with genuine kindness

I interact with this practice regularly due to a family member being registered there. I've consistently found the staff to be very pleasant and genuinely helpful, which actually compares favourably to my own surgery, and mine is already quite good! I imagine they do receive some challenging calls from patients seeking assistance, but I believe in treating people how I'd want to be treated myself, and they seem to operate on the same principle. I'm always content to engage with them whenever needed.

Efficient admin staff made booking appointments straightforward

This medical centre is a real asset to the NHS. The clinical team are outstanding and consistently go above and beyond to support patients, while the reception team are remarkably organised and always willing to assist with scheduling and other enquiries. There's a clear commitment to putting patient wellbeing and requirements at the heart of everything they do. It's the best GP practice I've been registered with. My partner, who works in healthcare, shares this view entirely. There are plenty of excellent reasons to be based in this area, and this practice is certainly one of them. The approach taken here could serve as a model for GP surgeries across the country. Exceptional service all round.

Deregistered without any warning or notification

I have been a patient at the medical centre in Durham since 2021, and when I recently attempted to book an appointment for a heart trace test, I was informed over the phone that my registration had been terminated. I had not received any prior notification through text, email, or telephone regarding this change, which meant I was unable to secure the appointment I needed. What concerns me most is that my medical records appear to have been lost in this process. I find this situation quite distressing and am uncertain how to proceed. I would encourage the practice to ensure that patients are properly notified of any changes to their registration status in the future.

Receptionists genuinely listened and helped with elderly relative

Excellent service! The reception team are all extremely polite and helpful. I have found them to be very empathetic when I've needed to call regarding a family member's care. Whenever I speak with the clinical staff, they clearly understand the patient's situation and will always arrange visits when necessary. It's so reassuring to have such a supportive practice. The team members are adequate, however over the past several years obtaining an appointment has proven extremely difficult, and the clinicians appear too stretched to maintain regular contact with patients. It seems the practice lacks sufficient staffing levels, which undermines all other aspects of the service.

Poor organisation at vaccination clinic visit

Attended a vaccination clinic promptly at the scheduled time, only to receive a queue number that placed me significantly behind other attendees. When my number was called, I was subsequently overlooked. While I have considerable appreciation for the medical facility overall, the administrative handling on this particular visit fell short of expectations, and there was no acknowledgement of the inconvenience from the administrative team.
