Shopping centre review posted to wrong platform

The shopping centre offers excellent facilities for all your retail requirements with a wide variety of stores stocking numerous different products ranging from hot food to frozen goods, cards, gifts, clothing and much more. Everything you could need or want is available there. The location is convenient and there is ample parking available.

Called 111 and was given an appointment at 23:15. The receptionist who answered was unhelpful and showed no understanding of my situation. By 23:45, the clinician appeared to leave without seeing me. This was a disappointing experience with the service.

Called the practice this morning to request an appointment. The receptionist came across as quite dismissive, immediately suggesting I visit the pharmacist instead without first enquiring about my concerns. When I explained that I was experiencing breathing difficulties and suspected a respiratory infection, requiring medical assessment and potential prescription medication, an appointment suddenly became available. I found her manner to be inappropriate and unhelpful. It sometimes feels as though staff may overestimate their role in the appointment process.

Waiting times manageable even when it's busy

I couldn't be more satisfied with the care I've received from the urgent injuries service. Both of my children have attended on a couple of occasions for head-related injuries from school incidents and high temperatures. Each time, I've been seen within two hours, even during busy periods, and the staff have been consistently pleasant and professional, resolving matters promptly on the day. I do notice they appear to prioritise children over adults, which I think is appropriate depending on the severity of the issue, and they also seem to give priority to elderly patients when needed. I believe people can be impatient these days and don't always appreciate how stretched the NHS is, with staff working hard and long hours to support us. They can only work as quickly as circumstances allow, and that deserves respect. The GP practice is a different matter, as getting an appointment requires calling before 8am, though again, appointments for children and elderly patients seem to come through more readily. My advice would be to avoid disclosing your specific issue to reception staff, as they are not clinicians and may not book you appropriately. I once experienced this when seeking help with pain and was booked for a different service than what I actually needed. Given my medical history and experience managing my own health, I knew what I required, but reception staff don't have access to my full medical records like the doctor does. Once I called back and was more guarded about my symptoms, I got an appointment immediately. Receptionists aren't doctors, and that's been my only frustration with the practice. I've considered changing surgeries but decided against it because I value the doctor I see there. They're excellent, and I've been with this health centre for most of my life and prefer to stay.

Impossible to book appointments here

Avoid this GP practice. The service at this health centre has been disappointing. A family member has been attempting to secure an appointment for approximately a month without success. Despite being told that a clinical appointment was necessary, this proved difficult to arrange given the limited availability of clinicians at the practice. A formal complaint is being considered, along with the possibility of registering with a different practice.

The shopping centre was quite bustling with people doing their festive shopping. The venue was decorated with seasonal decorations and festive music was playing throughout to mark the upcoming holiday period. In the middle of the shopping centre, there was a festive character seated in a chair with assistants nearby, engaging with younger visitors.

I have been visiting this pharmacy for approximately six months and have had a consistently positive experience. My prescriptions are always prepared promptly, with a text notification sent when they are ready, which is very convenient. The team members are friendly, approachable and genuinely helpful. The pharmacist in particular has been excellent – they are personable, clearly knowledgeable and always happy to offer guidance and support. I am very satisfied with the service provided here.

The receptionist appeared unwilling to review relevant medical information on the system and suggested that the case was not urgent enough to warrant a timely appointment, recommending a month-long wait instead. Over two consecutive days, I called at opening time and was told all available slots had been filled within minutes, yet an appointment was subsequently offered for several weeks ahead. This inconsistency was frustrating and raised concerns about appointment availability and how cases are being prioritised. While I found the nursing and clinical staff to be professional and helpful, the barriers to accessing care through reception made the overall experience problematic. I would have appreciated more flexibility and responsiveness when dealing with a potentially serious medical matter.

Reception staff went the extra mile for me

Urban medical centre I recently visited both the city centre and suburban locations for separate health concerns. I made an error reading my appointment time and arrived ten minutes late. The receptionist at the first location was very kind and reassuring, letting me know there was no issue and that she would accommodate me, which I greatly appreciated. My second visit was at the suburban branch. I had difficulty using the check-in system, so I asked the receptionist for assistance. She was helpful and promptly registered me manually. The healthcare professional I saw during my appointment was exceptionally caring and made me feel at ease immediately. She was clearly a valued member of the practice.
