Long waits and confusing waiting room system

This facility fell short of my expectations, and I'm disappointed to think my NHS contributions go toward this service. I waited for an extended period and was placed in a separate waiting area, then had to check back repeatedly to confirm whether my name had been called, only to discover I should have been in a different waiting room. I understand the practice is busy, but if a second waiting area is being used, it would help if staff monitored both spaces to ensure patients don't miss their appointments.

Impossible to book appointments with regular doctor

I have been a patient at this practice for several years. Initially, the service was satisfactory, but my experience has deteriorated significantly. Obtaining an appointment with my usual clinician has become extremely difficult. The appointment system appears inconsistent—depending on the nature of your query when speaking with reception staff, you may be offered a telephone consultation instead of a face-to-face visit. These telephone appointments typically involve a considerable waiting period of over a week. This situation is deeply frustrating.

Long wait with nowhere to sit down

I recognise that the NHS faces significant pressures and staff work hard to support patients, however I was disappointed with my experience during my recent visit. I had been experiencing symptoms for approximately a week, including fever and swollen glands alongside other health concerns. I was informed of a substantial waiting time and was directed to wait in a large, open reception area. Unfortunately, there was inadequate seating available, which was particularly problematic given the cold weather conditions outside. Due to the lack of suitable places to sit, I made the decision to leave rather than remain in an uncomfortable environment. I also noticed another unwell patient who had been waiting in the same area for an extended period. I would suggest that increasing the number of seats in waiting areas would significantly improve the experience for patients, especially during periods when illness is more prevalent.

We attended an appointment this afternoon with my granddaughter for a health concern that needed checking. We saw a paediatrician who was absolutely wonderful - their manner was caring and considerate, which made the experience really reassuring. We're very grateful for their thoughtful approach. 🙏

Long wait despite evening appointment booking

Extremely disappointing experience overall. I contacted 111 requesting an advance on documentation for illness and a sick note. I was informed that a GP would call me back within six hours. When they did call, they were insistent that I attend the centre in person. I explained that I was unwell and concerned about being able to manage a lengthy wait before being seen. Despite my concerns, they persisted and arranged an appointment for 6:20pm. It is now 8pm and I remain waiting. Being unwell, this situation is not providing the support I need. I feel my concerns have not been taken seriously.

Excellent service from the reception team, the triage assessment, the clinical practitioner and the imaging specialist following an injury to my wrist. It would have been a five-star experience apart from the waiting time, which was beyond the control of the staff members involved.

Reception staff could show more understanding

A lengthy wait with my child who has complex additional needs proved challenging. The majority of staff demonstrated considerable compassion and support despite the hectic environment, though the reception team on this visit came across as rather abrupt and dismissive, and could benefit from approaching interactions with greater warmth and empathy. The care and consideration shown by all other staff members, including support personnel and other patients, was exemplary.

Long waits and understaffed reception area

I have been waiting considerably longer than expected, with the appointment schedule appearing quite backed up. The pace of consultations seems slow relative to the number of people in the waiting area. After an extended period in the surgery with a young child, I felt that the wait times were not adequately managed and that patients were not prioritised as well as they could have been.

I have visited twice this week with my children and found the service and staff to be excellent. From the security personnel to the reception team, everyone went above and beyond. My child was made to feel particularly supported and cared for during their visit. The assessment process was thorough and the clinical team were wonderful. I am very grateful ☺️

Staff dismissal of invisible illness concerns

I felt upset by my interaction with a staff member, as I experienced what I perceived as discriminatory treatment. Despite the practice's stated commitment to supporting disabled patients, I felt my invisible health condition was not properly understood or accommodated. I only remained for my son's appointment because he needed an X-ray. The two nursing staff who cared for my son were genuinely kind and professional, which was the positive aspect of the visit.

Friendly staff but accessibility issues remain unresolved

The staff were pleasant and the waiting time was acceptable, however there are accessibility concerns with the building layout. An elderly patient with mobility aids would struggle with the stairs immediately upon entry. The lift has been non-functional, and this appears to be a recurring issue. It seems the facility is managed through a contracted arrangement within the NHS system.

The service experience was extremely disappointing. Upon arrival, I was informed the wait would be approximately two to three hours and advised to wait outside. After significantly longer than initially indicated, I remained waiting. This extended delay was very frustrating.

Friendly staff who genuinely try their best

The staff have been really nice and friendly, and I have never had any issues. There was some uncertainty when another surgery became involved, but things have since stabilised. All the surgeries are very busy during this hectic period, and in my experience the team have always made a genuine effort to assist. One particular clinician has been fantastic, and the prescription service has consistently been efficient and timely. You all do an amazing job, thank you.
