Feedback reflects a practice experiencing significant operational challenges, particularly around appointment access and booking experience. Patients report persistent difficulty securing appointments, with many describing phone system issues including long waits and disconnections, alongside reception staff described as dismissive or unhelpful during booking interactions. Several patients note that when appointments prove unavailable, they are directed to alternative services rather than offered practice slots. This pattern has intensified following recent management changes, with long-standing patients observing a marked decline in service standards compared to previous years.
Where clinical care is accessed, experiences are mixed. Some patients report clinicians who demonstrate genuine listening skills and professional approach, whilst others describe communication that feels dismissive or lacking in adequate explanation. Concerns have been raised about medication management, including unexpected discontinuation of repeat prescriptions and delays in accessing necessary care. Patients also mention challenges with follow-up arrangements and test result communication.
Positive feedback highlights the practice's digital services, convenient location, supportive nursing staff, and instances of responsive care. However, these strengths are substantially overshadowed by widespread concerns about appointment availability, phone system functionality, reception experience, and what patients perceive as inadequate resourcing to meet patient demand. The practice environment has also been noted as requiring improvement in maintenance standards.

Bad!
Impossible to reach, appointment waits are ridiculous
Attempting to secure an appointment feels frustrating, as the standard response is to visit the local walk-in centre instead. Additionally, when calling to book, there are long waits on the phone only to be disconnected, requiring you to ring back and start from the beginning of the queue again. The practice appears not to prioritise patient care, as a regular medication was discontinued without prior notification. When seeking clarification, I was instructed to book an appointment, which presents the same difficulties mentioned above. I was informed that the earliest available appointment was a month away and that the medication would not be renewed until then, leaving me without essential daily medication in the interim. I would rate this experience as poorly as possible.

Couldn't get appointment when needed
This practice has not met my expectations. My partner has been attempting to access appointments and has repeatedly been directed to alternative services when she feels she requires a direct consultation. I am dissatisfied with the level of care provided and feel that patient needs are not being prioritised appropriately. I am considering transferring her to a different practice as I do not feel confident in the service being offered.

Referral requests ignored for months without response
I have had a very poor experience with this practice. My father has been requesting a specialist referral for several months without receiving a response. His condition has since deteriorated significantly, and he now requires multiple daily care visits and support from various healthcare professionals. He is also on strong pain medication after experiencing prolonged discomfort with inadequate pain management during this period. A formal complaint has been submitted to the relevant authority, and I am currently seeking alternative care for my father, who had been a long-standing patient at this surgery. I would not recommend this practice based on my experience.

Hard to book appointments since the takeover
The clinical team at this practice is excellent, however since the recent change in management, accessing appointments has become extremely challenging. On multiple occasions when attempting to book, I have been informed that no slots are available, including telephone consultations. The consistent response has been to suggest visiting an urgent care centre instead, with instructions to try calling again the following week. Despite having had a health assessment arranged several months ago at a local hospital facility, I have been unable to obtain a follow-up discussion regarding the findings and recommended next steps. The current appointment system requires urgent improvement.

Excellent!
Friendly reception and quick medication ordering
Recently joined the practice and found the reception staff to be welcoming. Arranging my regular prescription was straightforward and was processed quickly within a few days.

Reception turned away urgent child referral
This practice has not met my expectations. After NHS 111 advised that my young child required an appointment within a specific timeframe, the receptionist informed me that no appointments were available and suggested attending an alternative facility instead. This is the third occasion I have encountered similar unavailability, which raises concerns about whether the practice is adequately resourced to serve its patient population.

Appointment booking system repeatedly lets families down
Booking an appointment proves to be quite challenging. Even when you succeed in securing a slot several days ahead, the booking may be cancelled without clear explanation. Staff members indicate they will contact you to arrange an alternative time, yet these promised calls do not materialise. Over the past six months, we have experienced ongoing difficulties in getting our child's immunisations completed as planned. While the team members are courteous, the underlying issues remain unresolved. This has been a frustrating experience overall. We have decided to seek care elsewhere as a family.

Impossible to book appointments since takeover
This practice was previously excellent, but following the recent management change, the experience has deteriorated significantly. Obtaining appointments with clinical staff has become increasingly difficult, and telephone consultations are similarly hard to secure. The overall quality of care has declined noticeably compared to previous standards. I am now considering registering my family with an alternative practice. It is disappointing to see such a marked reduction in service quality.

Struggling to get through on the phone
I attempted to schedule an appointment and made several calls without success. When I contacted the practice on a Monday, I was informed that bookings were not available until later in the week. Upon calling again the following morning, I was told that appointments were not being scheduled at that time either.

Average!
Reception staff dismissive of patient concerns
Everyone's experience differs, and this reflects my own. The clinician can be helpful on occasion but not consistently, and the practice management appears reluctant to acknowledge areas for improvement or address patient concerns, instead seeming to assume their team operates without fault.

Local practice that listens to families
Grateful for having this neighbourhood practice available to us. They have consistently provided good care for our family, and the nursing staff were particularly helpful when our child required their vaccinations.

Felt dismissed and not properly listened to
The clinician demonstrated a manner that felt dismissive and patronising. Their approach lacked the warmth and genuine understanding that would have been appreciated during the consultation.

Quick callback and same-day appointment when needed
I cannot speak highly enough of the exceptional care I have received at this practice. Following our relocation a couple of years ago, I have attended on three occasions when unwell, and each time my concerns were addressed promptly. Most recently, I contacted the surgery mid-morning, received a callback within the hour, and was seen for an examination and tests that same day. A follow-up appointment was arranged shortly after. The clinical team demonstrated professionalism and a thorough approach to identifying the underlying issue. What particularly impressed me was the support offered regarding a long-standing habit I had maintained for decades. A single consultation proved transformative, and I have successfully maintained this positive change for over a year and a half.

Reception staff more helpful than expected
The reception staff at the practice provided me with more helpful guidance than I received from a clinician during my visit. I was told that nothing could be done to help my situation, only to discover later from another healthcare professional that this information was inaccurate and I should not have been given that advice. Following two imaging scans, I received my results via a brief phone call lasting around 20 seconds with no discussion of ongoing care or treatment options. I was disappointed with the overall standard of care provided.

Great!
Felt genuinely listened to and understood here
A pleasant, compact practice. The clinician I saw demonstrates genuine listening skills and takes a holistic approach to healthcare. My previous experiences elsewhere involved practitioners being overly hasty with prescriptions without proper consideration. The clinical staff member I encountered was approachable and helped me feel comfortable. Based on what I've observed, feedback regarding reception staff appears to have some validity, as they occasionally seem to prioritise conversation with colleagues over attending to patients promptly. This may depend on the surgery's workload at any given time. The setting is convenient, situated near a major pharmacy with easy access to public transport and accessible parking facilities at the rear of the building. Managing prescriptions is straightforward, and the practice provides extensive digital services. The online system is particularly helpful for reordering medications, scheduling or reviewing appointments, and accessing your complete medical records with appropriate consent. This practice represents a marked improvement compared to my previous healthcare experiences.

Poor!
Reception staff attitude needs improvement
The clinical care has improved recently, however the reception experience remains problematic. The reception team continues to be dismissive and unprofessional during phone interactions, which significantly undermines the quality of the overall service. Multiple patients have raised similar concerns about this behaviour. The reception staff appear disengaged and unwelcoming, whereas previously the team was more helpful and courteous. As a long-standing patient, I've noticed a considerable decline in the standard of customer service at the practice compared to how it used to be.

Poor!
Hard to reach by phone and feel unheard
It's an okay practice, but getting through on the phone can be difficult and the staff sometimes come across as dismissive. When you do manage to see a clinician, it can feel like they're not really hearing what you're saying about your symptoms. I've been dealing with a health issue for over a month now without much progress, though I've had similar problems on and off for a year. I keep experiencing white spots in my throat, and while other practitioners have suggested throat infections, I've been given different explanations. I've also had to return to the practice because I was prescribed antibiotics when I didn't feel they were necessary. My son has additional needs, so when he becomes unwell, it affects him quite severely. I understand that antibiotics can't be used constantly, but it would be helpful if someone would investigate why we keep getting these recurring issues. The practice has been helpful at other times, but the experience over the last month has been disappointing.
