Feedback reveals significant challenges with appointment access and reception experience, which dominate patient concerns across the file. Patients consistently report difficulty securing appointments through the telephone booking system, with many describing the process as nearly impossible, particularly when calling at the designated 8am slot release time. Phone lines are frequently described as inadequate or non-functional, resulting in lengthy waits or unanswered calls. Reception staff courtesy emerges as a recurring issue, with multiple patients citing dismissive, discourteous, and unprofessional behaviour, including interrupting patients and showing lack of compassion during interactions.
In contrast, medical professionals receive notably positive feedback. Doctors and nurses are frequently described as compassionate, attentive, and skilled, with several patients specifically praising individual practitioners for their genuine care and thorough approach to consultations. The practice environment is generally viewed positively when patients can access it, with welcoming facilities noted in some reviews.
Communication and responsiveness present additional concerns, with patients reporting delayed callbacks, missed follow-up appointments, and inconsistent information about referrals and prescriptions. Some patients describe feeling dismissed or deprioritised when attempting to discuss health concerns. While a subset of reviews highlight positive reception experiences and commend staff warmth and helpfulness, the predominant pattern reflects systemic issues with appointment availability, phone accessibility, and reception staff conduct that significantly impact patient experience.

Bad!
Frustrating healthcare that fails working professionals
The medical practice is completely impractical for anyone with a job. Their appointment slots are exclusively at 8am, and if you happen to call just three minutes later at 8:03am, you'll find yourself 30th in line. Essentially, you're forced to sacrifice an entire workday just for a slim chance of scheduling an appointment. Other healthcare providers offer convenient online booking systems, which makes this approach seem archaic. I get the distinct impression they're intentionally discouraging patient bookings. My sincere hope is that they don't expand their patient list, as they're already struggling to manage their current patient population. In reality, this surgery is only functional for those without employment commitments - namely the unemployed or retired individuals who can afford to wait around all morning.

Terrible service and rude staff stay away
STEER CLEAR of this medical practice !!!!! Absolutely shameful how the front desk staff behave - they're incredibly discourteous and completely disinterested in providing any assistance. STAY AWAY at all costs

Terrible service prevents timely medical care
Getting an appointment at this surgery is a nightmare. As someone with a demanding job, I require immediate medical attention on my day off to validate my sick leave and obtain necessary treatment. However, instead of providing timely assistance, they offer a slot 2-5 days later, despite their own protocol of taking calls at 8 AM. I've personally experienced the frustration of driving to the surgery at 8:15, remaining on hold, and observing staff blatantly disregarding incoming calls. Through the glass doors and windows, I watched alongside other patients as the reception staff deliberately ignored ringing phones. Is it any wonder our emergency departments are overwhelmed? THIS IS THE REASON WHY.

Terrible service destroying patient care and dignity
I sincerely hope local authorities conduct a thorough investigation into this medical practice, as it is extremely mismanaged. My elderly mother has been unable to secure a face-to-face doctor's appointment for over six years, and on the rare occasions she has attended, she booked to see a doctor but was instead assigned a nurse who was unable to provide the necessary support. The receptionist is consistently discourteous, constantly interrupting and preventing patients from speaking, and will abruptly end calls if challenged, despite the surgery's fundamental purpose of supporting sick individuals who need help. Moreover, they demanded my mother, who is over 70, book a doctor's appointment—which is practically impossible—and then charge her over £45 for a private letter to be written in the doctor's personal time, requested by the DVLA to confirm she does not use insulin for her diabetes. It is utterly unsurprising that patients are forced to spend hours in accident and emergency departments, consuming resources that should be managed by practices like this, which are fundamentally failing those who have contributed to the healthcare system throughout their entire working lives.

Average!
Friendly staff can't save subpar medical care
The rating reflects the reception staff's exceptional service - they're consistently warm, supportive, and genuinely committed to scheduling appointments effectively. However, the same praise cannot be extended to the doctor, who falls short of providing satisfactory care. In comparison, the physicians at Tile Cross Surgery seem far more attentive and willing to engage thoroughly during consultations, without making patients feel hurried or dismissed.

Terrible service and impossible to book appointment
Scheduling a consultation here is an absolute nightmare. I've made numerous phone calls and endured lengthy wait times, only to be told they've exhausted their available slots. It's been more than a month, and to make matters worse, their other services are equally subpar and disappointing.

Bad!
Terrible service and disrespectful staff at clinic
Completely unacceptable. I had to contact the practice regarding a missing prescription item for my partner, who is autistic, and I handle their communications. The receptionist's demeanor was shockingly unprofessional, interrupting me mid-explanation and dismissing my concerns despite having clear documentation. This isn't an isolated incident; we've experienced multiple encounters with discourteous staff. Moreover, the inconsistent medical care is frustrating - we rarely see the same healthcare professional, and sometimes not even a qualified doctor. The repeated poor treatment has pushed us to our limit. Anyone considering this surgery should seriously reconsider their choice.

Fantastic healthcare team with caring doctors and staff
Fantastic general practice with incredibly helpful and friendly reception team, both via telephone and face-to-face interactions. Booking appointments and reaching the GP has always been seamless. The medical professionals are particularly compassionate and highly skilled, with Dr Walleed Zafar and Miss Iffat Naeemah standing out as exceptional practitioners.

Unprofessional business wastes my time and energy
I showed up for my scheduled visit, only to find the establishment shuttered. I lingered for a while, thinking perhaps they were running behind schedule. They had previously confirmed a Saturday appointment and guaranteed they'd be open. I'm utterly frustrated that I made this pointless journey, wasting my time and energy for absolutely nothing.

Abandoned and betrayed by my heartless gp practice
For two years, I had a positive shared care arrangement with a private practice, but suddenly my GP abruptly stopped my medication without providing any explanation. Despite numerous attempts to contact the medical office, I've been consistently dismissed and given no clarity. No healthcare professional can advise me on managing the severe withdrawal symptoms from medication they've been prescribing me for years. I've been experiencing daily panic attacks for a week now. My repeated calls go unanswered, and I've received conflicting information about who is responsible for this decision. The sheer lack of communication is devastating - I've made 7 calls to my Church Road GP seeking help while experiencing suicidal thoughts due to this inexplicable and unaccountable medical decision, yet not a single call has been returned.

Terrible customer service at medical office
The front desk staff displays an appalling lack of professionalism, completely disregarding patient concerns and demonstrating zero compassion. She consistently interrupted me, preventing me from explaining my medical issues. Her communication style is aggressively dismissive and utterly unacceptable. Terrible customer service from unhelpful medical staff
The phone receptionist displayed an extremely unprofessional demeanor, constantly interrupting and showing zero compassion for patients' concerns. Her attitude suggested an inflated sense of importance, arbitrarily determining patient access to medical consultations. She dismissively ignored my specific requests, merely scheduling a nurse appointment. Upon arrival, the nurse confirmed that I indeed required a doctor's examination, which was precisely what I had originally sought.

Statins destroyed my health and quality of life
Cholesterol levels rose from 4.2 to 6.2. Post-surgery, medication dosage escalated from 10 to 40mgs. Experienced severe discomfort with widespread joint pain and muscle aches throughout my body and back—truly unbearable! Endured four separate medical consultations across three months, cycled through four different statin medications, yet continued experiencing persistent nausea, dry mouth, and complete loss of appetite and taste sensation. Conducted a COVID test which came back positive! What an absolute exercise in futility! On the bright side, my blood pressure has actually improved.

Compassionate care through challenging pandemic times
Throughout the challenging pandemic period, this medical practice has consistently demonstrated exceptional compassion. As another year rolls by, I've encountered multiple health issues, and the reception staff have been absolutely outstanding. The general practitioners are impressively attentive and proactive. They were instrumental in catching my prostate cancer early, promptly arranging a blood test and subsequent referral. My only criticism lies with Good Hope hospital, which I found to be thoroughly inadequate.
