Saved my life literally

I developed flu in January and like most people just thought I would work my way thru it but then on a Monday morning felt really ill. Got GP appointment with Dr James Robert’s, who check me over and rung an ambulance to admit me asap. I do not remember leaving the surgery and ended up in ITU with family being told to come and say goodbye. I had ECMO treatment in Bristol and back to ITU in Plymouth A month later I came home but Drs at hospital said if my GP had not moved so quickly I would have died, so very grateful to all at Church view

Unhelpful practice prevents local patient registration

Despite not being a patient myself, I feel compelled to share my experience. I telephoned the practice to inquire about registering as a new patient, mentioning my residence in Sherford. Initially, they confirmed my eligibility. Accordingly, I made a special trip to complete the registration paperwork. However, upon arrival, I was abruptly informed that Sherford is considered "out of area" and therefore ineligible for registration. They flatly refused to make any accommodation. This situation is utterly nonsensical, given that this practice is geographically the closest medical facility to me. I have no desire to travel to Plympton for basic healthcare services. This is precisely the type of administrative barrier that our local Member of Parliament should be addressing on behalf of Sherford's residents!

Terrible service and unprofessional staff nightmare

I recently became a patient at this practice and had a terrible initial experience. A rude female receptionist yelled at me and abruptly hung up the phone. When I called back and spoke with a male staff member, I requested a callback from the practice manager, which never materialized. The same employee promised to contact me within 10 minutes of our conversation, but he also failed to follow through. Despite being highly recommended, my first impression of this healthcare provider has been extremely disappointing.

Amazing medical care with compassionate staff

We've been patients at this surgery for about a year now, and they've consistently been exceptional every time we've needed their services. Nothing has ever been too challenging for my partner and me, especially when it comes to our children, whose appointments they always prioritize. We've personally observed some of the incredibly impatient and rude individuals who frequent the surgery. For instance, a woman standing second in line was dramatically rolling her eyes and sighing at the hardworking receptionist, who was simultaneously managing phone calls and attending to people in the queue. This woman had barely been waiting for two minutes. The surgery's current rating absolutely fails to capture the incredible level of care and service they provide, which is why I felt strongly motivated to share this review. To those irritating, complaining, and impatient individuals: please allow extra time when visiting or calling, and show some respect to the dedicated staff who are constantly working to help you.

Terrible healthcare scheduling nightmare with anima system

Absolutely terrible process with Anima, where you complete a form only to receive a seemingly arbitrary appointment scheduled far in the future, with no consultation about your availability and no mechanism to modify the time or date since the case is considered resolved once an appointment is assigned. Truly frustrating - how can working individuals possibly access proper healthcare when confronted with such a dysfunctional system? Absolutely mind-boggling.
