Patient feedback reveals a deeply polarised experience at this practice, with significant contrasts between clinical care quality and administrative service delivery. Medical staff consistently receive praise for their competence, compassion, and professional expertise, with many patients reporting positive outcomes from consultations. However, this clinical strength is substantially undermined by widespread difficulties accessing services. Patients describe persistent challenges with appointment booking, unresponsive phone lines, lengthy waiting times for reception confirmation, and communication failures across multiple contact methods. The transition to digital booking systems has created particular frustration, with reports of complex forms, system errors, and unclear appointment allocation across different locations.
Administrative inefficiency emerges as the dominant concern across reviews. Reception experience varies considerably, with some patients reporting courtesy and helpfulness while others describe dismissive or rude interactions. Booking availability remains severely constrained, with patients reporting multi-week waits, restrictive scheduling windows, and difficulty securing timely appointments despite the practice's stated online convenience. Long phone wait times and unresponsive lines are mentioned repeatedly, creating barriers particularly for older patients or those without reliable internet access. The gap between the quality of medical care and the accessibility of that care represents the practice's most significant challenge, leaving many patients frustrated despite appreciating their doctors' clinical abilities.

Excellent!
Exceptional healthcare with compassionate and understanding staff
I'm using a pseudonym for this account. After recently relocating to Surbiton with my daughter, I must emphasize how incredibly supportive Churchill Surgery has been. We both manage ongoing medical concerns, and the entire team—from reception to medical professionals—has been outstanding. They genuinely listen and address our needs promptly. In all my 58 years, this is unquestionably the finest medical practice I've ever encountered. My daughter struggles with significant anxiety, but remarkably, she feels comfortable visiting these doctors. During her initial appointment, the physician's recognition of her courage in attending made a profound impact on her. Truly, I could not have hoped for a better healthcare experience.

Exceptional healthcare with compassionate and thorough service
I'm thoroughly impressed with this medical practice. The online triage process is seamless, and I consistently receive quick responses with timely appointment scheduling after my initial assessment. During consultations, the physicians make me feel genuinely heard. They demonstrate exceptional attention to detail in their diagnostic approach and collaborate with colleagues to guarantee the most comprehensive care for patients. Sincere appreciation goes out to the entire staff at both the Surbiton and Kingston locations :)

Life-changing doctor with incredible diagnostic skills
Dr. Tuck's exceptional diagnostic skills uncovered a tumor I was completely unaware of, ultimately leading to its successful removal. Thanks to his expertise, I'm now in the best health of my life. I'm truly grateful beyond words.

Fantastic online booking system saves time and stress
I rarely write reviews, particularly when everything is satisfactory, but after reading numerous negative comments, I felt compelled to share my perspective on the new booking system. I'm genuinely astonished that so many people struggle with online appointment scheduling. While I acknowledge that not everyone is tech-savvy or has internet access, for computer-literate individuals, this system is significantly more convenient than the previous method of waiting endlessly on the phone, only to be told appointments were fully booked. Now, I can simply send a brief message describing my issue, and for urgent matters, I consistently receive a callback within hours or even secure a same-day face-to-face consultation - something that was previously nearly impossible. I'm thoroughly pleased with both the online platform and the medical services my family receives at this practice. Contrary to some experiences, I've found the receptionists consistently courteous during our phone interactions. The NHS app has also streamlined accessing blood test results, eliminating the need for time-consuming phone calls. The doctors are attentive and exceptionally helpful. Having previously been registered with another local surgery where my experience was traumatic - my three-year-old nearly developed sepsis due to dismissive doctors who labeled me an overly anxious mother when my child had a dangerously high fever for almost a week - Churchill has been a remarkable contrast. My son has consistently received excellent, prompt care whenever needed. I sincerely hope this standard of service continues!

Great healthcare with minor booking hiccups
Most physicians demonstrate compassion and attentiveness, carefully addressing patient concerns and making hospital referrals when appropriate. I never feel hurried during consultations. Initially, I was skeptical about the digital scheduling platform, but it has proven quite functional. However, the waiting period for a receptionist's confirmation remains nerve-wracking, as they've taken up to a week to respond. Despite this minor drawback, we are truly fortunate to have access to such a medical practice.

Terrible service and zero compassion from staff
Completely Horrible, Impossible to schedule an appointment and shockingly unprofessional interaction with staff. I wish I could give less than zero stars to reflect my experience.

Inefficient clinic with terrible customer service
You must complete an online form to schedule an appointment, which is extremely inefficient. Following the form, they bombarded me with 19 technical questions that seem completely inaccessible, particularly for older individuals or children. After answering all their questions, I missed their calls and attempted to call back. The reception staff appeared confused about available time slots, despite having previously contacted me. It's baffling why they wouldn't know scheduling details when they initiated the call. The waiting experience was unpleasant, with reception staff displaying a remarkably rude and authoritative demeanor. Their attitude suggested we were subordinates, not patients. Their dismissive statements like "We'll call you back, but we don't know when" and "You're clearly not in an emergency" were infuriating. Just because I didn't express urgency doesn't mean my situation wasn't critical. Additionally, it took 7-10 minutes just to reach reception, and upon arrival, the staff was casually joking around - completely unprofessional. During my previous appointment, I called four times, completed a form, and answered nine questions. Despite continuously coughing during the call, they couldn't confirm a time slot. I requested an afternoon appointment, but they assigned me a morning slot - utterly inconsiderate. I then had to wait for them to potentially reschedule. Ironically, they're lightning-quick when it comes to cancellations, with their after-hours menu primarily featuring appointment cancellation options. This entire process creates significant stress for patients. If you're willing to gamble with your health at this clinic, proceed at your own risk.

Poor!
Frustrating medical practice with terrible booking system
Echoing the sentiments of previous reviewers. The medical staff are excellent, but the scheduling process is frustratingly inadequate. Their digital-only appointment booking method fundamentally undermines what should be quality patient care.

Worst medical experience ever terrible communication
Terrible experience with this healthcare provider. It's impossible to get a referral to the NHS. The doctor never calls directly, only leaving unhelpful voicemails. The reception staff are equally unresponsive, consistently failing to answer phone calls.

Uncaring receptionists put patients lives at serious risk
Getting a timely appointment here is nearly impossible, and it's not due to the doctors - the problem lies entirely with the reception staff. As someone battling long-term mental health challenges, I shared with the receptionist that my antidepressants were causing concerning side effects and that I'd been experiencing suicidal thoughts. Their response? Casually scheduling me an appointment a full month away. The complete lack of urgency and compassion is utterly appalling.

Terrible gp service with frustrating appointment system
This GP practice is utterly incompetent and should not be practicing medicine. I would never recommend them to anyone. - Their online appointment booking is needlessly convoluted (why simplify something when you can make it frustratingly complex?) - Appointment confirmations vanish from the system (you must screenshot them or risk losing proof, and why not email confirmations? They seem determined to complicate basic communication) - After securing an appointment, they consistently redirect patients to pharmacies (defeating the purpose of visiting a GP) - They were completely unhelpful when my daughter had a finger verruca (prescribing an ineffective cream and deflecting questions by suggesting a pharmacy visit) - Their telephone system has been dysfunctional since COVID began (a pandemic excuse that now seems ridiculous, especially while still enforcing mask wearing when it's no longer mandatory across the UK) - With two branches in Surbiton and Kingston, neither provides anything resembling acceptable medical service.

Exceptional healthcare and compassionate staff at churchill
I had an exceptional experience at Churchill Medical Centre. In contrast to my previous encounters with other GP practices, which were thoroughly disappointing, I am now completely satisfied with this centre. The receptionist is particularly outstanding in her patient interactions, whether communicating via telephone or in person - though I regrettably don't know her name to give her specific credit. I want to express my sincere gratitude to all the staff members who have been working diligently during these challenging pandemic times.

Terrible service hiding behind covid pandemic excuse
This healthcare provider is completely inadequate. Exploiting Covid as a pretext, patients are denied in-person consultations, and scheduled phone appointments are either missed entirely or postponed for extended periods. One can't help but question the professional integrity of these medical practitioners. Their conduct is utterly disgraceful.

Frustrating phone service that leaves patients unheard
Attempts to contact the office by phone consistently fail, regardless of the time of day. I've been informed by a district nurse that they experience identical communication difficulties. It's particularly problematic for those who aren't comfortable with or have limited internet connectivity, which is especially challenging for older individuals like my 92-year-old mother.
