Patient Experience Summary

Feedback reveals a deeply polarised experience with significant inconsistency across service areas. The medical team consistently receives praise for compassion, clinical competence, and supportive care, with patients frequently highlighting prompt consultations and effective treatment. However, reception experience presents a stark contrast, with widespread complaints about dismissive communication, rudeness, and lack of courtesy during phone and in-person interactions. Appointment access remains a critical issue, with patients reporting difficulty securing timely slots, misleading walk-in centre claims, and administrative failures in booking systems and callback promises. Several reviews highlight concerning gaps between service quality and patient expectations, particularly around responsiveness to inquiries, communication clarity, and follow-up care. While some patients describe efficient, welcoming experiences with minimal waiting times, others report lengthy delays, unresponsive staff, and organisational confusion that undermines confidence in the service.

The facility's marketing as a walk-in centre appears inconsistent with operational reality, generating frustration among patients seeking urgent care. Communication breakdowns between reception and clinical teams, combined with inconsistent application of policies, suggest underlying organisational challenges. Positive experiences tend to correlate with individual staff members demonstrating initiative and empathy, whereas negative experiences reflect systemic issues around appointment availability, reception courtesy, and administrative coordination. The contrast between the quality of clinical care and the reception experience suggests that service improvements would benefit from focused attention to staff training, communication protocols, and appointment management systems.

Terrible healthcare service with shocking patient neglect

Steer clear of this practice! They're going to extreme lengths to dodge patient consultations. It's astonishing that they continue to receive NHS funding while providing such abysmal service.

Horrific medical service that endangers patients

Absolutely dreadful service. They're completely heartless. I strongly recommend avoiding them at all costs. These people are utterly inhuman and despicable! Utterly pathetic! My wife was experiencing intense abdominal pain while caring for our newborn, and their response was to hand her a form and casually mention it would take a full day to schedule an appointment. I was forced to contact emergency services instead. These individuals are the absolute bottom of the barrel. I'm convinced even the Devil would show more compassion than these callous workers!!!

Lifesaver clinic solved daughter's persistent eye problem

Immense gratitude to this walk-in clinic for accommodating my daughter's swollen eyelid problem on Tuesday! Throughout the preceding three weeks, we had consulted various medical professionals (absolutely futile encounters) and made two separate visits to the Manchester eye hospital, where they prescribed multiple allergy eye drops with zero improvement! By pure coincidence while shopping at Boots, we registered at the clinic, where the young receptionist was incredibly helpful. After a roughly 40-minute wait, we saw the doctor who prescribed antibiotics tablets and a sinus spray, and within just a few days, her condition completely resolved! Once again, heartfelt thanks...

Compassionate care from an nhs angel

Casey is truly a blessing! Her compassionate approach with my autistic daughter was extraordinary. Despite being international travelers from Malaysia visiting Manchester, she went above and beyond to provide exceptional care. Her remarkable understanding and kindness transformed our entire experience into something smooth and positive. We made a midday call to schedule an appointment and successfully secured a 5 PM slot. Everything was efficiently resolved by 5:30 PM - absolutely seamless. Heartfelt gratitude to the NHS for such wonderful services. We are deeply thankful for the incredible hospitality we received. I'm saddened to hear that many others have not been as fortunate in their experiences.

Worst medical centre ever absolute disaster

I'd award a negative rating if possible. They are absolutely terrible. The staff at reception demonstrate an astounding degree of ineptitude. Their conduct is bizarrely inappropriate. The management, along with the NHS and government, urgently need to conduct a thorough investigation into this facility.

Terrible service and complete disregard for patient care

Pretty much echoing the sentiments of other reviews. DEFINITELY NOT A WALK-IN CENTRE. Equally, it's far from the "Urgent Care" they claim to provide. I've experienced this place twice now. The first occasion was following a moderate car collision. I was dismissively told to leave, with a GP supposedly calling back within 5 hours. Today's visit was equally frustrating. They claimed to be at full capacity, this being 2 hours before closing. I detailed my existing internal injury concerns, explaining I was exhibiting signs of potential lapse and internal bleeding. I emphasized this centre was my quickest urgent care option, especially given current A&E wait times of 4-5 hours. The staff member completely ignored my urgent medical situation, simply suggesting I try the walk-in centre near MRI or go to A&E. Worth noting, I was the ONLY patient present! With three reception staff casually chatting and drinking tea when I entered, I'm convinced the real reason was the doctor leaving early. It seemed they were merely running down their hours for pay purposes. Total and complete organizational failure.

Quick and efficient medical care when needed

During my time in Manchester, I reached out to this urgent care facility. They promptly returned my call and scheduled me for an appointment within 10 minutes. I consulted with an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, received a prescription, and collected my medication. The entire journey from initial contact to diagnosis and obtaining medication was completed in under an hour. Despite not being a local resident, they accessed my medical records through the NHS system. The service was absolutely exceptional, with incredibly helpful personnel. I couldn't be more impressed - they deserve far more than 5 stars. My sincere appreciation to the team.

Worst walk-in centre ever, avoid at all costs

If I could award zero stars, I absolutely would. A walk-in clinic that refuses walk-ins when they're still open for three more hours? Their brilliant suggestion? Travel to North Manchester - wherever that is. Another prime illustration of the NHS's substandard care, which explains precisely why emergency departments are perpetually overcrowded. It's impossible to secure a GP appointment, and now walk-in services are equally unavailable, despite their own television advertisements urging patients to consult a doctor about persistent symptoms. I might not even survive until dawn.

Friendly nurse saves day from terrible medical experience

A wonderfully pleasant blonde nurse assisted me today, drawing blood with exceptional gentleness and compassion! She truly deserves top marks. Unfortunately, every other aspect of the experience was comically inadequate, particularly the call service, where I endured nearly an hour of waiting only to receive a dismissive "I don't know" when inquiring about accessing my blood test results through the app. Appreciate the help, really. I also feel compelled to highlight the unprofessional doctor from my previous visit last month. Edit on nov23: My test sample has mysteriously vanished, and I've received zero communication about follow-up, which is absolutely unacceptable.

Horrible medical service fails to help my child

The service here is utterly devoid of compassion! I'm completely enraged!! This is absolutely unacceptable treatment of patients! I scheduled my child's flu vaccination approximately six weeks in advance, arrived at the appointed time, and was informed that the day's nurse was only administering adult immunizations and shouldn't have booked a pediatric appointment. Subsequently, I called to reschedule, explicitly confirming the availability of a children's nurse for my 4-year-old daughter, which they affirmed. I rushed from work to bring her, only to be told they don't provide vaccines for 4-year-olds? Didn't they know the age when initially booking the appointment? The receptionist's phone manner was shockingly insensitive and dismissive! Surely you can do better than this! Provide alternatives instead of simply stating "she can't get the vaccine" with such finality. Show some understanding and help solve the problem!

Unacceptable healthcare service for young children

Absolutely useless!! They flatly denied administering a flu shot to my 4-year-old child simply because he hasn't begun elementary school yet!!! Their rationale was solely based on his age. When we clarified that his nursery doesn't offer flu vaccinations, the staff member suggested we postpone the vaccination until he enters school next year!!! Utterly absurd!!!

Why does this facility continuously promote itself online and inside Boots as a walk-in centre when it absolutely is not? It's actually an "urgent care hub" that refuses to treat patients without a formal referral. The marketing is incredibly deceptive.

Lifesaver medical center with quick ear infection help

I stopped by last night after my primary care physician informed me there were no available slots for a consultation for another fortnight (while suffering from a painful ear infection!). The front desk staff member, a dark-haired woman whose name I didn't catch, was incredibly supportive. She recognized the urgency of my situation and assured me they could examine me that same evening - I was seen by a doctor in approximately 20 minutes. The physician was equally warm and compassionate, and helpfully explained that I could collect my medication directly from the Boots pharmacy located on the ground floor, which was extremely convenient. I'm truly grateful for their exceptional service and timely assistance in addressing my medical concern!
