Amazing healthcare experience at city medical center

Fantastic healthcare professionals and team. After relocating to Smethwick, I registered with City Medical Center and received an outstanding welcome. Their communication was top-notch, and they provided personalized attention throughout the process. The staff demonstrated incredible helpfulness and a genuinely friendly approach. The doctors and nurses were equally impressive, proactively conducting an initial health screening during my first week of registration without me even requesting it. Truly exceptional service.

Worst customer service ever at this clinic

The front desk staff display an incredibly off-putting attitude. They come across as completely self-important and unwelcoming. Their demeanor makes you feel distinctly unwelcome and uncomfortable while waiting for your appointment. When I attempted to explain an online check-in problem, they rudely interrupted and cut me off mid-sentence. During my phone call in the lobby, with the television playing in the background, one of the receptionists aggressively demanded that I either end my call or be silent because apparently talking isn't allowed. The entire experience was so unpleasant that I would now strongly prefer conducting future appointments via telephone to avoid any interaction with their hostile staff.

Caring doctor helps manage diabetes with patient guidance

Dr Shabir performed ketone testing, struggling to get the GlucoRx machine to show a reading of 2 instead of 3. The ketone strips were unreliable for detecting Diabetic Keto Acidosis. She was supportive, advising me to drink 2-3 litres of water and take insulin and sukkarto, which I had neglected during my illness. I subsequently used the same machine to check HCT weekly or when unwell, and increased my water intake. Ketostix were ineffective in clearly indicating when medical intervention might be necessary. I understood her reasoning for reducing the medication from 2 tablets to 1 due to drowsiness. She provided a helpful link and scheduled a follow-up in 8 weeks. As part of my self-treatment, I incorporated magnesium glycinate gummies, dopamine balance supplements, and Astaxanthin, though I plan to consult the next GP about the appropriateness of these additions for my conditions.

Disrespectful and uncooperative front desk personnel. Redirected me to 111 when I required medication, needlessly burdening NHS resources. Completely unacceptable medical practice that, like many current GP offices, demonstrates an arrogant unwillingness to assist patients, instead providing misleading guidance under the guise of professional authority. The patient's needs should be paramount, but this practice fails miserably. Steer clear of this clinic at all costs.

Truly, this medical practice stands out as the top choice in the region. The front desk staff member is incredibly kind and compassionate. Dr. Mahmood is simply exceptional. I had completely given up on general practitioners, but this doctor goes above and beyond to ensure his patients' well-being and comfort. Previously, there was a female doctor at this clinic who was extremely discourteous. She could definitely learn from Dr. Mahmood about maintaining professionalism while still being courteous and making patients feel valued and secure. My sincere wishes for Dr. Mahmood's continued success.

Rude nurse ruined my important medical appointment

I'm writing to express my frustration with a nurse named 'Dani' during a recent telephone consultation. In all my years with this medical practice, I've never encountered such disrespectful treatment. She consistently interrupted me and dismissed my concerns, which is completely unacceptable. When I confronted her about her unprofessional behavior, her apology was halfhearted and clearly insincere. I was shocked by the poor quality of this appointment, both in communication and approach. She attempted to dismiss my need for further blood tests by referencing results from two years ago, which is incredibly inappropriate, especially considering I'm a young woman dealing with ongoing health challenges. Healthcare professionals should ALWAYS prioritize listening to their patients, and her conduct was absolutely unacceptable. Her tendency to talk over me was not just rude, but potentially harmful. I am thoroughly disappointed and dissatisfied with this experience. The medical staff need to significantly improve their patient interaction skills and demonstrate genuine care and respect. This is not the standard of care I expect or deserve. 😒😡

Unprofessional doctor with terrible bedside manner

Absolutely terrible general practitioner in Birmingham. The physician, Ahmed Mahmoud, who wears glasses and has an Arabic accent, displayed unacceptable behavior by being extremely hostile and loud towards me without any justification. He should be immediately removed from his position. Someone needs to make it clear to him that such unprofessional patient treatment is not tolerated in this country. I am preparing to file a comprehensive formal complaint about this incident.

Terrible clinic with zero customer service skills

I've never encountered such a terrible healthcare facility in my life. The service is utterly disgraceful. My attempt to schedule a doctor's visit was met with ridiculous obstacles. They informed me that in-person consultations were unavailable and I would need to wait a fortnight for a phone consultation. After patiently waiting those two weeks, the scheduled telephone appointment never materialized. Adding insult to injury, I received a text requesting feedback about an appointment that never happened. This medical practice is fundamentally dysfunctional. Their level of professional incompetence is beyond comprehension. I strongly advise anyone to steer clear of this clinic. Seek out a medical facility that demonstrates basic competence and actually honors their commitment to patient care.

Terrible service worst medical experience ever

I arrived for a scheduled check-up appointment yesterday, and the initial interaction was already frustrating. The receptionist asked for my name twice and directed me to wait. Incredibly, I sat in the waiting room for 45 minutes until the nurse finished her shift at 5pm. When I inquired about the delay, the receptionist admitted she had mistakenly confused my name with another patient's. The absurd part? I was the only patient in the waiting area! Despite asking me to sit and having me right there in plain sight, she somehow managed to completely overlook my presence. I observed the nurse moving in and out of her room, clearly not overwhelmed with work, yet making no effort to see me before leaving. The level of unprofessionalism and disregard was astounding. To be completely ignored after scheduling an appointment is unacceptable. This experience was so appalling that I can confidently say I will never return to this incompetent medical practice. The service was beyond disappointing – it was a complete mockery of basic customer care.

Steer clear of this practice, don't be deceived by the 3.9-star rating Booking a GP appointment is practically impossible - I've likely seen my doctor only once Calling is futile; they rarely answer, and if they do, they'll quickly hang up or claim the lines are closed When I attempted to book a GP appointment, they scheduled me with a nurse who was meant to then book me with a doctor I won't name the nurse, but her approach was shockingly rude and dripping with sarcasm As a nurse, her job is to listen to patients and offer support, not mock their concerns I had blood tests from my home country with delayed results, preventing treatment, and I wanted a GP's second opinion and potential medication advice The nurse dismissed the tests, claiming the GP wouldn't review foreign-originated results - which I somewhat understood. However, she could have at least offered to book a GP appointment for a follow-up test to investigate my potential health issues Wouldn't it make sense to thoroughly examine what might be happening? Especially considering I could have missed critical information in my test results Instead, she was solely focused on her own agenda, seemingly intent on belittling me. I will definitely be changing practices as I cannot remain passive when clear health concerns exist I absolutely do NOT recommend this practice The phone call left me feeling terrible and completely unheard; I was extremely distressed The nurse's attitude was profoundly disappointing - she should seriously reconsider her career I've never experienced such treatment in my entire life Their supposed purpose is helping patients improve their health, but they seemingly couldn't care less

Terrible doctor with dangerous misdiagnosis risk

STEER CLEAR! Complete waste of time and INCORRECT diagnosis. TERRIBLE encounter! The consultation felt hurried and concluded with an ENTIRELY INACCURATE diagnosis. I was forced to seek out specialized medical professionals to obtain the correct diagnosis and appropriate treatment. After reviewing additional feedback, I discovered other patients shared similar complaints about Dr. Sahdia Shabir: displaying an unprofessional demeanor. I've now transferred to a different general practitioner. This medical practice has significantly declined from its previous standards.
