Patient Experience Summary

Patient feedback reveals a markedly mixed experience across the practice. Many patients praise the clinical care provided by certain physicians, highlighting their compassion, attentiveness, and thorough approach to consultations. Patients consistently report feeling reassured and well-supported during medical interactions, with particular appreciation for the quality of communication and professional expertise demonstrated during appointments.

However, reception and administrative experiences present significant concerns. Multiple patients describe challenges with appointment booking, citing difficulties accessing timely consultations and frustration with scheduling processes. Reception staff interactions are frequently cited as problematic, with patients reporting discourteous behaviour, lack of empathy, and poor communication skills. Several patients indicate they have considered or completed transfers to alternative practices due to these front-desk experiences, despite satisfaction with clinical care.

Waiting times and access barriers also emerge as recurring themes, with some patients reporting extended delays and challenges obtaining same-day or urgent appointments. A smaller number of patients raise concerns about diagnostic accuracy and responsiveness to patient concerns during consultations. The disparity between positive clinical experiences and negative administrative interactions suggests that service improvements would particularly benefit from focused attention to reception staff training and appointment scheduling systems.

Bad!

Worst medical experience ever terrible service

Total professional negligence and indifference. I've been suffering intense discomfort for 48 hours, and they persistently deny providing any pain medication. This facility operates with complete unpredictability.

Bad!

Terrible service and dangerous medical environment

Based on the reviews I've encountered, this establishment appears problematic. They demonstrate a lack of genuine concern for people and are overly quick to adopt a defensive stance. The front desk staff urgently requires comprehensive professional development, both internally and through external training programs.

Bad!

Terrible receptionist ruins potentially life-saving medical care

My interactions with the doctors have been satisfactory, but the receptionist I spoke with (whose name escapes me) is arguably the most incompetent staff member imaginable, potentially the worst in the entire United Kingdom. I've never encountered such abysmal service in my life. I called regarding a spreading eye infection and needed an antibiotic prescription, which an NHS optician had already recommended with supporting documentation. Incredibly, the receptionist claimed it could take up to three weeks for a doctor to review the report and refused to schedule an immediate appointment. However, when I contacted 111, they swiftly arranged same-day medical consultation with the GP. Seriously, how can someone dismiss a rapidly spreading eye infection by suggesting a three-week waiting period? What am I supposed to do in the meantime? Allow the infection to potentially compromise my vision? The logic is absolutely nonsensical. I've experienced numerous challenging situations, but this encounter surpasses them all. I frequently ponder whether these receptionists believe patients enjoy being shuttled around or actually want to visit the GP for any reason. Candidly, that receptionist requires replacement, comprehensive training, or at minimum, a lesson in basic human empathy. Shaking my head in disbelief.

Exceptional doctor with compassionate and caring approach

I've been aware of the challenges people face when trying to schedule appointments at various general practitioner clinics, but that hasn't been my experience with this particular GP. Each visit I've made, whether for myself or my infant, has been thoroughly positive. Dr Rayaz stands out as an extraordinary physician - compassionate, attentive, comforting, and truly remarkable. After every consultation, I depart feeling completely reassured and content. Given the current limitations of our healthcare system, this practice is about as close to ideal as one could hope to find.

Fantastic gp with smooth registration and care

This marks my inaugural experience with a GP in England, and I couldn't imagine selecting another. Regrettably, I'll be departing due to relocation. The staff are incredibly attentive and dependable. While scheduling appointments might present some challenges, when compared to alternative practices in the vicinity—even those slightly further away—this GP clinic stands out as significantly more adaptable and user-friendly. Absolutely worth endorsing. If you're contemplating registering with City Road Medical Center, hesitate no more. Take my word for it: this practice is exceptional.
